What is in a Name?

This writing is not intended to be a complete telling of this topic, but with a thought to brevity, it should allow for good learning.
Probably no topic or issue can stand alone without consideration for information from other topics and issues.
Therefore, for better understanding of terms and concepts used herein,
other papers should be read in conjunction with this paper and others.

Does a name matter?  Does it matter what your friends and family call you?  Does it matter what you are called after you are dead?

There are actually some people who will say a name is not important.  But, if someone is of the position that their name is important and makes their name a condition of your dealing with them, then their name is very important and should be to you.

If I tell you that you may have everything I have if only you will call me by my name, and I have told you my name, then surely you should use my name to get what I have.  What do you think would be the result of your not using my name, then expecting me to give you all my things?  Would you pout and rave that you should have my things anyway?  There are people who do act contrary to the rules and still expect to receive the benefits.

An issue could be made of many names in Scripture, but this study is focused on the names of God, as it is his names that matter to a persons life or death.

Baptized in the Name of ....

The priest, the minister, the pastor, or whoever, says over the baby or even yourself, that he Baptizes you in the NAME of the Father, in the NAME of the Son and the NAME of the Holy Spirit.  This evidently comes from verses like Matthew 28:19 [en# 1].  It should be noted that the designation of "Father" and "Son" are merely what is used to refer to them by title and not name.  This verse instructs baptism in the name of the Father and the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Spirit.  This is interesting in that it indicates a name for the Holy Spirit.  And "Holy Spirit" is also a title designation, and will be discussed in a separate study.

We also have Acts 8:16 [en# 2], Acts 10:48 [en# )], Acts 19:5 [en# )] and Acts 22:16 [en# 5], which all make about the same reference regarding baptism in the name of.....

If you do something in the name of your spouse, or your friend, or anyone else, then you would declare that you are doing the something on behalf of "Hank" (or whoever it is).  If you said you were there to do the something “in the name of my friend”, then would anyone know who you meant, would you not have to say the name of your friend?  This would be like "I am here to pick up the pizza for the mechanic" as opposed to "I am here to pick up the pizza for Hank".  The use of pronouns does not identify the person in whose name you are doing something.  You MUST use a proper noun, their proper name.

If you are instructed to do something in the name of someone, then does it not make sense to use their name when doing (or embarking to do) the thing?

In the case of Baptism, we are told to Baptize in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Should you use their names for the Baptism?  Look at Acts 2:36 [en# )], Acts 8:9 [en# )], Acts 10:42 [en# )], Acts 19:1 [en# )], Acts 22:12 [en# 1)] and 1 Corinthians 1:11 [en# 1)] (as well as others), and you will see that we are to Baptize in the NAME of “Yahshua” (the son) (this "name" will be explained shortly), or the name of "Israel" (the Father).  In 1 Corinthians 1, Paul made it very clear that he did not Baptize in his own name - Paul.  You can imagine Paul getting quite defensive about the matter saying something like, ‘No no, my friends, I do not Baptize in my name, I do not have that power or authority, I do not even want that responsibility.  No, do not even think that I am here to Baptize in my own name’.  It is a name thing.  Whose name?  What is the name?

It is clear that Baptism is only in the name(s) of the Father and/or of the Son and/or the Holy Spirit, not nouns referring to them.  So, what are their names?

Many Christians claim they are God’s people and demonstrate such by calling themselves CHRISTians.  Why should this matter to anyone?  Well, in 2 Chronicles 7:14 [en# 12.1)], Isaiah 42:7 [en# 13], Isaiah 65:1 [en# 14] Jeremiah 7:10, 11 & 14 [en# 15], Jeremiah 32:34 [en# 16], Jeremiah 34:13 [en# 17], Amos 9:12 [en# 18] (as well as others), we are told that God’s people are called by HIS name.  What is HIS NAME?  Is it Christ?  NO.

Is God's name and the use of it important?  God seems to think so, therefore - YES.

This brief index will help guide you through the remainder of the name study.

God is English, an uncertain affinity for deity, especially the supreme Divinity.  This is NOT a name.
Yah / Yahovah is the English phonetics of the title and quasi-name the Hebrews gave to God the Father in Heaven.  It is more a title, as synonymous with "God".  For lack of this writer, at this time, it may be the closest thing to a name for the Father in Heaven.
Israel is the English phonetics of the Hebrew name for God the son (the creator), in manifestations which allow him to interact with the world and people.  This IS a name.
"I AM" is English, meaning what God told Moses to say to the people about who sent him.  It is less a name, it is a description of God's ubiquidous existance
Yahshua is the English phonetics of the Hebrew name for God the Son in flesh, as Messiah.  This is what Mary (Mariam) called her son.  This IS a name.
Christ is English, is a title, like King or President, synonymous with Messiah.  This is NOT a name.

What of the Riddle?

Did you know the Scriptures have riddles?  Can you imagine that you are supposed to know the answers?  Or, do you think that you are not supposed to know the mysteries of Scripture?  Maybe you think that only those who have been to seminary school are supposed to know the answer, while you should only follow them without question.

Look at Proverbs 30:4 [en# 19.1].  Some questions are put out in the world for everyone to read and answer.  The questions are

Who has gone to heaven?
Who has come from heaven?
Who has gathered the wind in his fists?
Who has bound the water in a garment?
Who has established the ends of Earth?
What is his name?
What is his son's name?
Notice the last two are asking what are the NAMES of the father and son.  Those are some of the questions we will try to answer here.  If it is important enough for God to ask, maybe we ought to consider it important enough to at least try to answer.

A Name is a Name, is a Name ...

Common Christian mis-speak calls the Messiah “Jesus”.  If you are English speaking and meet a Mexican man whose name is “Jose”, would you call him “Bill”?  What if his name was “Miguel”, would you call him “Donald”?  The answer is an abvious NO.  At the worst, you might call “Jose” – “Joe” and “Miguel” – “Mike”.  These would be called Englishizing the names, in that you give them an equivalent in your language, but that still would not be their name, but at least you would be close.  If you speak of something that Pedro did you might say “I saw Pedro buying milk at the store”.  You did not alter his name when speaking English, you called him by his proper name.  Proper names do not change from language to language.  “Jesus” is an English variant of a bastardized Greek/Latin word/name, not Hebrew or Aramic.

When the Messiah walked on Earth about 2000 years ago, his mother and step-father DID NOT call him “Jesus”, his brother James DID NOT call him Jesus.  His friends and disciples DID NOT call him “Jesus”.  Pontius Pilate DID NOT call him “Jesus”

Mary, James, Peter, and many more, called the Messiah Yahshua.  More on that later.  But for this paper and other papers found at the same source as this one, the name "Yahshua" refers to the MAN who walked Earth about 2000 years ago, a man who died on a stake (cross), a man also identified as THE Christ.

The Father & Son

There seems to be an issue in determining whether the Father and Son are one entity or two entities.

There are at least 2 views on the Father and Son.  There are verse sets which tend to strongly indicate the Father and Son are 2 distinct enitities and then there are verse sets which tend to strongly indicate God is a single entity, wearing a different hat and using different names, to signify his varied duties and functions.

This can get tricky.  One view is that they are two distinct individuals, and never the two be one.  The other view is that he is one individual, performing different functions and going by different titles/names as related to the functions being performed.

Are They Two  or  Is He One?

Two or More Entities

The more common belief is that the Father and Son are two disctinct individuals, yet they are also one.  If that is confusing to you, then join the crowd.  If that is not confusing to you, then you may be ahead of most people and should be explaining it.  At first blush, it seems a conundrum or paradox or even an oxymoron.

The precept is something like this - that the Father is in Heaven and the Father walked and/or talked with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Jacob and others.  Then a separate entity, the Son, came in flesh and walked with flesh and died.  This precept sometimes has the Father and Son in Heaven and the Son came in flesh and walked with flesh and died.

This might sound pretty neat and simple.  But, this premise has problems, which might be explained later.

This may not be as important as "the name by which a people shall be saved".

One Entity

If God (a generic term/title) is only one entity, then what does this say about the conundrum?  Can you wear different hats?  What this question asks is, can you be a cook (symbolized by the wearing of a cook's hat) and at another time be a fireman (symbolized by the wearing of a fireman's hat) and at another time be a cowboy (symbolized by the wearing of a cowboy's hat).  The answer is an obvious yes.  But, you are the same person called by different terms or names.  Early in the morning you might where no hat and be called "Daddy", then during the later morning you might be called "chief", then around noon you might be called "sir", then in the early afternoon you might be called "Mr. Fireman", then in the later afternoon you might be called "Hank", then upon returning home you might be called "son-of-a-b####".  You probably answer to each of these 6 difference references, and sometimes you might think they are your name.

With this in mind, can God (a generic term/title) be one person wearing different hats?  Why not?  If we apply this, then seemingly contradictory verse sets no longer are in conflict. Now, when Proverbs 30:4 [en# 19.2] asks who is the father and who is the son, you can answer they/he are the same person and identified by different descriptions and different names at different times to distinguish his different functions and interactions with the world, including people.

An important thought on this is available in a brief earlier writing entitled "Does christianity Chase a False God?" and should be available from the same source as this writing.  It was not reprinted within this writing as it asks a separate question, but it is appropriate for this study.

Then John 10:30-33 [en# 24.1], indicates that the father and son are ONE.  More on that later.

What Important?

Whatever the name of, or distinction of, the Father Son relationship, the ultimately important questions are, "The Name by which You Might be Saved" [Act 4:12 en# 20], and knowing His People are Called by His Name [2 Chronicles 7:14 en# 12.2].  To that end, we study.

Introduction

God has two manifestations.  One is spiritual and one is physical (or quasi spiritual) (not neccesarily flesh).  The spiritual is the Father in Heaven - called by the name "Yah" or "Yahovah" or "YHVH".  The physical (or quasi spiritual) is the son - called by the name "Israel".  The flesh is the son - called by the name "Yahshua".  The name "Yahshua" is not easily found in modern translations of Scripture, yet it is the name his mother called him.  The Hebrews may have called the Father "Yah", "'elohiym" {el-o-heem'}, elshaddai {shad-dah'-ee} or such, but "elshaddai", "elohiym" and others are are more like adjectives describing "God". They are not names, but are adjectives used as titles.  Although, like today, the people may have ignorantly used a title for a name.  The grunt "Yah" is generally thought to be a "name", but is the best and closest thing to a name for God the Father, which this writer can discern as of this writing.

Let us understand some parts of speech prior to you throwing something at me.

noun
[via http://www.m-w.com - Merriam-Webster]
any member of a class of words that typically can be combined with determiners to serve as the subject of a verb, can be interpreted as singular or plural, can be replaced with a pronoun, and refer to an entity, quality, state, action, or concept

1.  The part of speech that is used to name a person, place, thing, quality, or action and can function as the subject or object of a verb, the object of a preposition, or an appositive.
2. Any of the words belonging to this part of speech, such as neighbor, window, happiness, or negotiation.

pro-noun

2. Any of the words belonging to this part of speech, such as white in the phrase a white house.

A noun is not the same as a proper name (proper noun).  No matter how many people or how many years a people use the noun, it is not a name.  A noun is a person, place or thing.  A proper noun is the name of a person, place or thing.

The Son (the creator)

The Son is the Creator.  A look at John 1.1-10 [en# 26.1] makes this clear.  This is a reference to the creator and the context tells you it is also referring to the entity who came in flesh as the son of God - Yashua.  Now that the name "Yahshua" has been thrown out we should try to explain it.

Mary, the mother of the Messiah, called her son Yahshua.  Not jesus, not Bill, not Hank, but Yahshua.

First, let us consider the pesky "J".

That Pesky "J"

Next, we will contend with the letter "J".  Arguably, much could be said about grammar and its usage, especially across cultures and languages.  But the "J" is important here because it allows many to completely miss some of those fine points.

Common so called “christians” do not realize ANY history as it relates to their proclaimed faith.  The letter "J" did NOT exist until late in the 17th century A.D..  Check a  good dictionary or encyclopedia.

The letter “J” has history that links it with the letter “I”.  The Romans and their European successors used “I” both for the vocalic “i” and for the consonantal “y” (as in the English word yet).  The English letter “J” did not exist until medieval times or after, when scribes began using a form of “i” with a tail, next to the short form of “i".  With the advent of printing, the tailed form of “i” was often used for an initial "i", which is usually consonantal.  The distinction between “J” or “j” as a consonant and “I” or “i” as a vowel was fully made in the 17th century,

Knowing that the letter “J” did not exist at the time the Messiah walked the Earth, then what was his name?

Many people when asked what is the name of God will say “Jehovah”.  Then the matter of that pesky letter “J” presents itself again.  If the letter “J” did not exist 2000 years ago, then it also did not exist prior to that time.  So “Jehovah” cannot be the name of God.

In Psalm 68:4 [en# 56] is an explicit statement that the name of God is “Jah”.  Ooooops, there is that pesky “J”.  Jah should be Yah.

This time we have an explanation in that the translators opted the letter "J" for “Y”.  You actually already know this.  Have you ever exclaimed “Praise be to God”?  Sure you have.  Have you ever said "Halleluyah"?  Of course you have.  Halleluyah means “Praise be to God”.  The “Yah” part of the word is the Hebrew word for God.  Notice, the word is not “Hallelujah” with “Jah”, as "Jah" is used in most translations of Psalm 68:4.  So here we see that since there was no “J” and “Yah” is used to praise God, the translators opted a “J” for “Y”.

The “Yah” of Psalms 68:1 is from the Hebrew word, something like   [ NOTE TO READER: these Hebrew  requires some images be associated with this HTML document, which was included at the original site.  If the Hebrew letters do not appear, then you may contact the author listed at the end of this document] [if you have the fonts installed in your browser then here is the text >  Hy"B or HwHy ].  In English it is HwHy, which when reversed for left to right reading is YHVH.  This is sometimes referred to as “Yahweh”.  Note here that the "W" is prounouced as a "V", so the pronunciation is more like "ya-veh".

The Hebrew name of God is “Yah” or Yahweh”.  Is it a little interesting that most people are not aware of this revealed knowledge?  Yet, they speak it in chorus response to prompts from the pulpit.

It is arguable that most other names from ancient times are also not translated well either, but for purposes of this writing, it is only the names of God, which are of concern.  Therefore, we will not talk here about Peter, Joseph, Mary, John, and the many others.

Matthew 1:20-24 explains that Mary ("Mary" is another word/name poorly translated) was instructed to call her son Emmanuel, which verse 23 says it means “God with us”.  Verse 21 also says Mary should call her son “Jesus”, but this at best comes from the Hebrew name “Joshua”, and there is the pesky “J” letter again.  Taking a lesson from what we learned earlier regarding “J” and “Y” we can determine that the name here is “Yashua”, which means “god is salvation” or "God with us".

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Joshua. Luke 1:31

Joshua! What does Joshua have to do with all this? In Old English, the "J" sound was a "Y" sound. In an attempt to get English readers to say "Yahshua," they transliterated it as Joshua. However, Joshua is actually another Hebrew name. Remember Joshua led the children of Israel across the Jordan and took the land OF Israel.  But in Hebrew it does not have the “J”.  The point here is that the translators translated Johshua and jesus differently, yet they have the same origin.  The translators were not consistant.

Yahshua is similar to Joshua which lends itself to the mis-translation of "Jesus".

The use of the name “Jesus” is incorrect at least because there was no letter “J” in the language.  Secondly, “Jesus” is simply a bad translation, which did not maintain the cross language rule of proper names.

Referring to our earlier study about John 5:43, we recall that “Yahshua” said he came in His Father’s name, partly meaning his name reflects His Father’s name.  Do you see that Yah and Yahshua are similar?  Further, the Hebrew word “shua“ loosely means “saves”.  Do you also see that the name of the Messiah - is the message?  Yah saves – Yahshua.

Can you imagine a reason why so called “Christians” are not taught the truth and are led astray?  Is Satan getting his way?

The Son (in the physical)
pillar of fire/smoke, burning bush, etc

God the Son takes physical form to interact with the physical realm.  This does not mean he becomes flesh every time, but only some physical form.

Since no man has seen the father [John 6:46 en# 29.1], is becomes obvious that every encounter with God in his various forms, has been with the Son (the creator).

Therefore, Jacob wrestled with and saw God the Son.  The implication here is that God the Son interacts with the physical realm while God the Father is relegated to the spirit realm.

Genesis 32:30 [en# 28.3] tells us that Jacob wrestled with God and saw the face of God.  If Genesis 1:1 [en# 25.2] and John 1:1-9 and John 1:18 en# 26.3 and others are to be believed, then Jacob saw God the Son and not God the Father.  This is also true for Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Jacob and many more, whether they heard his voice, saw his hinder parts, or the many other forms.

It seems that God the Father and God the Son are the same entity, but wearing different hats and names to signify His dealings and involvment with the various realms (spirit and physical).

The Son (a name)
Israel

The Father is God in Spirit and the Son is God in Flesh.  the Son is the creator and his name is also "Israel" [Isaiah 49:1-6 en# 27.1].

Verse 1: "O isles" refers to the dispersed "lost tribles of Israel" who are afar (scattered over Earth).  The Father did mention the name of Yahshua while Yahshua was in the womb [en# 21.2].

Verse 2: Yahshua's words, from his mouth, were sharp and cutting.

Verse 3: Yahshua is Israel in Flesh and was the servant (tool) of the Father (spirit).

Verse 4: Yahshua labored to bring his message to the people, but the surface evidence is that his efforts were for nothing and in vain.

Verse 5 & 6: Yahshua was the Father's servant to bring Jacob (Israel - the people) back to Israel (the creator).

This might, at first, seem a little confusing.  Read again Isaiah 49:1-6 [en# 27.1] and determine ABOUT whom it was written and WHO is talking (in whose person it was written).  Clearly, the text is referring to what later became known by the Hebrew name Yahshua (or Jesus to those unlearned).  These verses are referring to the Son of God, or God the Son.

Verse 3 shows the Son is also known by the name “Israel”.  Isaiah 49:1-6 is written about "Israel" and it is "Israel" talking, or at least dictated by "Israel".  Isaiah may have penned these writings or had them penned, but they are written in first person, and not about Isaiah.  Reading the other verses around verse 3, is where we observe that the reference is to the Messiah, also known as the Son, Jesus (wrongly), Yahshua, the Creator and the like.

The word/name “Israel” is used for many references and is very often mis-understood.  As early as Genesis 32:28 [en# 28.1], Israel's (the creator) people were called Israel, as their patriarch Jacob was renamed Israel, meaning he wrestled with God (Israel) and prevailed.  More simply, this means "one who reigns with God".  The descendants of Jacob naturally took their father's name and were known as the house OF Israel, or Israelites.  This is NOT the same as 20th and 21st century people calling themselves Israelis.

Israel (the creator) gave his name to his people through Jacob [Genesis 32:24-30 en# 28.2].

Jacob wrestled with the creator and prevailed.  This simply means Jacob did not quit, he went the distance.  Israel (the creator) married a selected people through the lineage of Abraham (for more on this, check the writing "The Gospel -Why Yahshua HAD to die"), knowing the lineage would pass through Isaac then through Jacob.  It was Jacobs 12 sons who would make the "House of Israel" (for more on this, check the writing "Who are God's People").  When Israel (the creator) married Abraham through all his descendants, he also gave them his name, with Jacob as the patriarch.

John 1:18 [en# 26.2] says no man has seen God, but the Son explains the Father [the literal translation is something like "The Christ came into being.  None has seen God at any time, but the Son explains the Father"]  The Father is whom none has seen, but the Son can be seen, and has been seen, and he explains what the Father wants.

If there is any doubt, John clarifies this in John 6:46 [en# 29.2].  It is God the Father which no one has seen, but only God the Son has seen the Father.  Likewise, it is only God the Son which any man may have seen.

With this line of thinking, John 14:8-12 [en# 30] makes sense in that Yahshua is in the Father and the Father is in Yahshua.  This rather makes them (him) seem as the same entity, but wearing different hats/names for the various functions of God.  It would seem possible to see God the Son, but not God the Father, since we are flesh and the Father is spirit.  This also indicates that Yahshua was flesh and blood and had NO power to do anything, but maybe was a conduit for the power of the Father.

Another perspective is that as Israel (the creator) was to marry the people whom he chose to lead the world by example, he gave them his name - Israel, the way a wife takes the name of the husband.  This was accomplished through the chain of events, outlined in scripture through Jacob wrestling with God (Israel).  More on this is found in another paper about the marriage, divorce, death and remarriage of God, found at the same source as this paper.

The designations of "Father" and "Son" show the order of existance and are easy ways for referencing the separate functions of God.

The Son (in flesh)
Yahshua

So, when referring to God the Son in flesh, we refer to him by the name his mother used - Yahshua.

In Matthew 1:23 [en# 21.1], Mary is told to call her boy "Emmanuel" which means "Yah with us" (God with us) or Yahshua.  This is important, for if the Messiah is to fulfill prophecy, then surely Isaiah 7:14 [en# 22] is one of many prophecies to be fulfilled and "Immanuel" ought be what he is called - "God with Us".

In Matthew 1:21, when Mary was pregnant with God the Son, Joseph was told to give the child a name.  The name meant "for he shall save his people from their sins."  The English name "jesus" has NO meaning in any language.  "jesus" is a Greek/Latin hybrid.

Yahshua in Strong's Concordance is #3091 which is defined as coming from #3068 - Yahweh, which is the Hebrew word for God, and from #3467 - yasha, which means "to save".  Together Yahweh and yasha, or Yahshua, means Yahweh Saves.

What choices do we have for the Son's name? Given the options of Iesous (Greek), Jesus (English) or Yahshua (Hebrew), which of the three can also be used in connection with the Father?  Only the one Mary used - Yahshua.

In many translations, Matthew 1:22 and 25 indicates that the name "jesus" was given to the Messiah in the flesh.  But a look at the Strong's research on the word "jesus" we find ---

Strong's 2424 Iesous ee-ay-sooce' of Hebrew origin (3091); Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites:--Jesus.

Strong's 3091 Yhowshuwa` yeh-ho-shoo'-ah or Yhowshua {yeh-ho-shoo'-ah}; from 3068 and 3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i.e. Joshua), the Jewish leader:--Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Compare 1954, 3442.

Yhowshuwa (Strong's 3091) takes us back to the explanation above, which leads us to Yahshua.

Had the Savior used the English name Jesus, He would not have been manifesting anything related to the Father's name, or a word referencing the Father - like "Yah".

The Hebrews called the Father "Yah", like we sometimes call him "God", then it is proper for Mary to call her son YAHshua.  Yahshua gave us a clue to his name.  Look at John 5:43 [en# 23], and the Messiah says he came in his father's name.  So, whatever the Savior uses for a name, it must somehow relate to the Father.

In John 5:43, the Messiah says he came in His Father’s name.  Many might say this simply means He came by command or authority of His Father, as a representative of His Father.  But the latter portion of verse 43 gives us a hint how to interpret the first part.  The last part says “if another shall come in his own name", which seems to tell us that a person does not come by his own authority but in his own name.  It refers to the NAME of the person who is come, not their authority.  If the latter clause is an example of what is meant, and it says a person comes in his own name, then the former clause would mean the same.  Hence, the Messiah came using his own name, which is a family name.  A name like or the same as the Father.  Rather like a father named “Hank” naming his son “Hank” or “Henry”.  In this case, "Yah" and "Yahshua".  Even though "Yah" is not a proper name, "YAHshua" is a reference to the Father, hence, "Yah" may well be correct as a name for the Father..

Yahshua gave another clue to his identity.  In John 10:30-33 [en# 24.24], Yahshua claims that the Father and he are one.  We can debate a long time to guess what Yahshua meant, but it would be far simpler to let the Jews, of that day, tell us.  In verse 33, the Jews explain they wanted to stone Yahshua because he commited blasphemy by claiming he was God.  This tells us that the people standing around Yahshua knew Yahshua meant he was God, but he is not the Father, rather he is descended (as in genetic offspring) from the Father.  This certainly makes Yahshua a God - the Son, second in creation from the Father..

The God of the Bible is "Israel", the Son, from beginning to end [Genesis 1:1-31 en# 25 & John 1:1-19 en# 26.5 .  If we are to believe Scripture and if it does not lie and if it is not confusion, then God the Son is the God of the Bible and the God of the people called Israel, who are named after their Husband's name - "Israel".

There is some contest for whether the Son's name is Yeshua or Yeshu or Yehoshua or some other variant.  IF any of these is more correct than Yahshua, that is acceptable to this writer.  But, what is certain is that the Son was NOT called "jesus".

A good read can be found at http://reluctant-messenger.com/Gods-sacred-name.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God .

This visit, to interact with man, was different than all previous interactions.  More on his visit in the flesh is available in the paper "The Marriage, Divorce, Death & Remarriage of Israel", available from the same source as this writing.

The Father (spirit in heaven)

Yah, Yahweh, YHVH are in Hebrew or   and Elohim are some of the names used for God the Fatehr, in the Bible. Others include El Shaddai, Adonai, Amanuel, and Amen. When Moses asked "What is your name?" he was given the answer Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, which is "I am that I am".  BUT, this was the Son.

The name of God in Judaism is usually NOT spoken, but for modern Jews the written or typed proper noun takes a form like "G-d" to prevent the written name of God from becoming desecrated later.  Some modern Orthodox Jews consider this unnecessary because English is not the "Holy Language".

The Name by which You Might be Saved -
His People are Called by His Name

Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved

Acts 4:12 [en# 57.1] is pretty clear that there is NO other name by which you might be saved.  Do you think knowing and using the correct name is important to God?

There has never been another name for God’s people, only "Israel".  Revelation refers to a new name, but that is a time yet to come.  Until the end of times, the only name for God's people is "Israel", being named after their Husband/God - Israel [Isaiah 44:1-6 [en# 31 and Isaiah 48:1 en# 32].

Take a look through all of Scripture and you will notice that every time man has had contact with God, it was in a physical manifestation and not a spirit one.  Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Jacob and many more all met with a physical manifestation of God (the Son).  Please note I did not say flesh.  Flesh is physical, but physical is not neccessarily flesh.  God the Father in Heaven must be spirit and in Heaven, and no man has seen the Father [John 1:18 en# 26.4] and flesh & blood can not inherit the spirit realm of the Kingdom [1 Corinthians 15:41-54 en# 33], therefore, flesh and spirit bodies can not coexist, and NO ONE has seen, God the Father.  So if any of these men saw God, it must have been the Son in a physical manifestation.  We are told in verses like John 3:5-6 [en# 34], that flesh is flesh and spirit is spirit, and only spirit bodies can inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.  God as Father is Spirit and in the Kingdom, but God as Son is for physical interaction with man, as he did with the likes of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Jacob and many more.  Sometimes as a pillar of fire, a pillar of smoke (cloud), or burning bush, or such.

All the visits with the likes of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Jacob and many more, were of a physical nature.  Then about 2 thousand years ago Israel (the creator) came in a fleshy nature, which is still physical, but a step beyond.  Each of these physical natures were ways for people and God to talk, touch and see each other.

One of the manifestations of God is that of the Son and one is of the Father, as the Father he goes by the name “Israel” [Isaiah 49:1-5 en# 27.3], while simultaneously using Yahshua when in flesh.

God in a Nutshell

God as the Son in flesh has the name "Yahshua", while God as the Son in in all other physical forms has the name "Israel".  God as the Father is always in spirit and at best is known, in English, as "Yah" or "Yahweh" or "Yahveh" or such similar variations.

We can see that the Hebrew word/name of God the Father is "Yah" (English version).  The Son is the Creator, and his name is "Israel" (English version). The son is also known as "I Am" (English version), which means he exists.  The Hebrew name of the Son in flesh is "Yahshua" (English version), which is basically "God with us".

When God the Son, the creator, came as flesh, he was called Yahshua, and all other times he is called Israel.

"Israel's" many Uses & Meanings

While the name Israel refers to both the creator and his people, it can also be used to refer to both at the same time.  It never refers to a land, as the name of the land, but only as the land belonging to a people called Israel - the land OF Israel - as belonging to the people called Israel.

Exodus 4:22-23 [en# 35] twice has Moses referring to the people Israel as the son.  Exodus 4:22-23 is an example of the use of the Hebrew word which is translated "ben".

ben {bane} 1121
Meaning:  1) son, grandson, child, member of a group 1a) son, male child 1b) grandson 1c) children (pl. - male and female) 1d) youth, young men (pl.) 1e) young (of animals) 1f) sons (as characterisation, ie sons of injustice [for un- righteous men] or sons of God [for angels] 1g) people (of a nation) (pl.) 1h) of lifeless things, ie sparks, stars, arrows (fig.) 1i) a member of a guild, order, class
Origin:  from 01129; TWOT - 254; n m
Usage:  AV - son 2978, children 1568, old 135, first 51, man 20, young 18, young + 01241 17, child 10, stranger 10, people
"Ben is found in many verses, like
Genesis 3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Genesis 4:17  And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Genesis 17:12  And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

Exodus 6:11  Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

and usually refers to a person or people of some kinship.

Israel (the people) are the bride of God the Father - Israel, and get their name from Him as the Husband.  God is named Israel, which is why His bride/people are called Israel.  Therefore, when God gave Moses instructions on what to say, God spoke in a manner which Moses was expected to understand, and Moses no doubt knew God the Father was named Israel and his people were also named after him - Israel.  So, the instruction to Moses was 'tell Pharoah to let my son go'.  Of course, Pharaoh probably did not understand as much as Moses, so Moses told Pharoah that God said to "let my people go".

Several verse sets make reference to the instruction to Moses and what Moses did [Exodus 5:2 en# 36, Exodus 7:16 en# 37, Exodus 8:1, Exodus 8:20 en# 38, Exodus 9:1, Exodus 9:13 en# 39, Exodus 10:4 en# 40], and they all help show that the people of the creator are called Israel as is the creator also called Israel.  The instruction to Moses is to tell the Pharaoh to release the Israelites.

As seen above, John 1:1-9 [en# 26.5] shows that Yahshua is the same entity as the Creator.  Therefore, Israel and Yahshua are the same, but wearing a different hat.  He is the same entity, with the difference being that He can manifest himself in a spirit form in the Kingdom, and a physical form to interact with man.  As Yahshua, the Son, He literally became more than physical, but born flesh.  This allowed him to not only interact with man, but be a man and die.

The Physical Manifestations of God
The Son

Every time God has had contact with man, or interacted with man, it has been in some physical form.  I did not say flesh.  A burning bush, a pillar of fire, a pillar of smoke, a wrestling match, in dreams, a voice and so forth.  All of these are in some physical manifestation, for surely they are not spiritual.

Adam talked and walked with the Creator [Genesis 1:1-3 en# 25.3], Abram talked and walked with the Creator [Genesis 17:1-3 en# 41], Jacob wrestled and talked with the Creator [Genesis 32:24-29 en# 28.4], Noah walked and talked with the Creator [Genesis 6:7-13 en# 42], Moses at least talked with the Creator, and even saw God's ass [Exodus 33:9-23 en# 43 and others].

Each of these contacts and the others are of some physical nature, as manifested by the entity "Israel".

I Am
Cogito ergo sum, Rene Descarte'
(I think therefore I am)

It was the father of modern philosophy, Rene Descarte', who coined the phrase "cogito ergo sum", which in English means "I think, therefore I am".

Moses was directly told a meaning of God.  Exodus 3:14 [en# 44] reveals this as “I AM”.  It is interesting to notice that “I am” is a unique short phrase which translates in every language.  Every language uses it regularly.  In every language, people use this phrase many times each day.  Can you get through a day without saying something that includes the phrase “I am”?  Think about it.  Here are some things you might say everyday.

I am going to the ????
I am hungry.
I am Hank.
I am here.
I am going to get you.
I am going to win.
I am going home.
There are few words or phrases which are so universally acceptable in all languages as the phrase “I am”.  What a unique phrase to use to describe God, that every language will have the same translation for it.

"I AM" means "I exist", as in the beginning and the end, the past, present and future.  Rene Descarte helped explain this.

So the name "I AM" is more of a description than a simple name.  It conotes God's ubiquitous nature.  But it refers to God in spirit form.  This is still the Creator - Israel.  Remember, Moses saw God's fanny, yet John 1:18 says no one has seen God.  Earlier we showed how this non seen entity is the spirit Father in Heaven.  So, Moses saw God the Son manifested in the physical form of a burning bush.

The God Signed his Instructions
He took a physical form, or manifestation, to make His Contracts and Mandates

A look at several other verses shows God (the creator) actually "signing" the verses as “I AM”.  This has the effect of making them contracts, commandments, executive orders and such.  Try verses like Exodus 6:2 & 8 [en# 45], Leviticus 18:4 & 5 & 6 [en# 46], Leviticus 22:2 & 3 [en# 47], Exodus 12:12 [en# 48], Leviticus 19:3 & 4& 10 & 12 & 18 & 25 & 28 & 30 [en# 49].  Each of these is SIGNED with “, I am the LORD” or “: I am the LORD your God” or some variant thereof.  These verses end with a comma or colon or such punctuation (which I know are put there after the original writings), then say his name and title.  Try reading each of those and substitute the phrase “I AM” with "Hank".  For example -  ‘Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: Hank, the LORD your God’.

This is rather like saying "Bush, the President", or " Smith, the Pastor", or "Tidwell, the Boss", or "Hank, the propane salesman".

Whatever the Hebrew pronunciation [hayah {haw-yaw}or shalach {shaw-lakh'} or Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, the translation of the meaning in English is “I AM”.

    Many other verses use the name “I AM” as the name of God.  Look at Genesis 15:1 & 7 [en# 50], Genesis 17:1 Isaiah 42:13 [en# 51], Exodus 6:6-8 [en# 52], Exodus 6:29 [en# 53], Exodus 29:46 [en# 54], Leviticus 8:35 [en# 55].  Try reading these with “Hank” in place of “I AM”.

In many translations/versions of Scripture you will see the phrase "the LORD god" and “the LORD” with LORD in capital letters.   The Hebrew word Yahovah has been supplanted with LORD.  “the Lord god” appears over 450 times and “the LORD” appears about 6000 times.  Surely it is not a coincidence that the Hebrew word for God – Yahovah, has been replaced nearly 7100 times.

We see that the Creator proclaimed his name as meaning “I AM” (English version) and this is a name that has a unique translation and meaning in all languages.

These are not proper names, but rather are nouns used to refer to the title or position of God, but not a name.  Like "God" is not his name, neither are these other words.  Like "God" is a description or title, so are these other words.  These and other words are descriptive of attributes of God.  They are not the name of God.

In Judaism, which is NOT the same of Hebrew, the name of God is more than a distinguishing title. It represents the Jewish concept of the divine nature, and of the relation of God to the Jewish people. In awe at the sacredness of the names of God, and as a means of showing respect and reverence for them, the scribes of sacred texts took pause before copying them, and used terms of reverence so as to keep the true name of God concealed. The various names of God in Judaism represent God as he is known, as well as the divine aspects which are attributed to him.  This is akin to the many Roman or Greek gods, with each having a certain duty or function.

The numerous names of God have been a source of debate amongst biblical scholars — some have advanced the variety as proof that the Torah has many authors, while others declare that the different aspects of God have different names, depending on the role God is playing, the context in which he is referred to and the specific aspects which are emphasized.

Call Upon His Name
By Whose Name can You be Saved?

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 [en# 57.2]

There are only two choices of a name which you can use that have paramount significance.  These are the two names of God as Father and as the Son.  As spirit (the Father) he is "Israel", and as flesh (the Son) interacting with man he is "Yahshua".

With verses like 2 Chronicles 7:14 [en# 12.3], Isaiah 43:7 [en# 59], Isaiah 65:1 [en# 60], it is clear that the people of Israel (the creator) are called by his name.  Basically, if they know who they are, they will call themselves by the name of their Father, their Creator.  This concept is not lost on "christians".  They think they are calling themselves by some version of their lord's name by calling themselves CHRISTians, but after all, Chirst is not a name, but rather a title.  What most "christians" would have to do is recognize and admit the truth and choose to call themselves by the name of their Creator, then maybe they would get a foot in the door.

If you do not know His name, how can you call upon it?  How can you be called by His name?  How can you be saved?

In the Name of the Lord

There are 108 verses which use the phrase “name of the lord”.  For those who call themselves “Christian” and believe only the “new testament” applies to them (or conveniently ignore/forget the old text), there are 21 such references, leaving 87 references for other purposes.  Many of these many references are repetitive.

Some of self righteous “christians” claim the Lord of the “old testament” and the Lord of the “new testament” are different people/entities.  By now, it should be clear that they are the same entity - Israel.

In the likes of 2 Chronicles 7:14 [en# 12.4], we are told that Solomon had a visit (a physical thing) from God and that “if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  There are several conditions in that verse, but one of them is using His name as the name of His people.  God's people are called by his name.  What is his name?  It is "Israel", and that is why his people are called "Israel" or "Israelites".

His Name is Israel, His People are Israel
Their Land is the Land of Israel

His people are called by His name.  So what is this name by which His people are called?  Answer - “Israelites”, from HIS name "Israel?".  When HIS people settle an area, they called the area "the Land OF Israel", to identify the land as theirs.  This is a common practice, even today.  Naturally, it can get confusing when the same name is used for more than 1 or 2 entities or references.  It is therefore, very important to understand which entity is being referenced when reading or using the name "Israel".  You must determine if it is the Lord, His people, their land, Jacob or something else.

Consider the following, Israel went to Israel while they were in Israel and spoke to them of Israel.  In this case we have - God went to the Israelites while they were in their land and spoke to them of Jacob.

This name should in no way be confused with a modern name "Israeli", which represents a people who occupy a modern country called Israel.

Whatever land is occupied by Israelites is the land OF Israel, because it BELONGS to them, not they belong to it.  The land itself has no name, but is described as BELONGING to the people.

But, I am Christian

You might ask, "What of the name 'Christian' "?  Well, I ask you back, what of it?  NOTHING.  Let us look at that.  One argument says that God (or is it Israel?) said he would give his people a new name and that the Disciples first called themselves "Christian" at Antioch.  Therefore, "Christian" must be the new name for God's people.  What do those Scriptural references really say and what do other references say?

Remember in Isaiah 49:1-5, we learned the Son or physical manifestation was the narrator and his name is "Israel", so it is "Israel" in Isaiah 62:2 [en# 61] who says he will give his people a new name.  But read the whole verse.  It more correctly says His people will be called by a new name AND it is a name which "Israel" (God) will speak.  So, we have at least 2 elements to this new name thing.  "Israel's" people will be called by a new name AND "Israel" will use HIS own mouth to name them.  I personally will accept more than, or other than, a literal mouthing.  I will accept a burning bush, a pillar of smoke, a pillar of fire, an angel in a vision, and many other things which can and do claim origin from "Israel" (God) as proclaiming it.

Now look at the next part of the argument where the Disciples are for the first time called Christian, at Antioch.  This is found in Acts 11:28 [en# 62].  The reading is clearly the Disciples being called Christian either by the locals or by themselves.  There is no hint in that chapter or others that "Israel" named them or caused them to to be called this.  But, let us continue.  Acts 26:28 [en# 63] has King Agrippa being a bit sarcastic with Paul who had made rather meaningful arguments.  You can almost hear Agrippa laughing at Paul saying "Ha, You almost make me want to be a Christian".  But, here again, we have no hint that "Israel" named these people a new name, not even "Christian".

Then there is 1 Peter 4:13 [en# 64] where Peter is admonishing that if a man claims to be a Christian and is experiencing life troubles for it, that he should not be cowardly or ashamed about it, but rather be glad that his suffering is for the sake of "Israel".  (Yes, I know that verse and others are not using the name "Israel", but if that is HIS name, then it fits)  There is no doubt Peter was referring to people who try following the word of God.  This admonishment parallels what Yahshua (the son of Mary, the fleshly manifestation of God) told us in John 15:17-21 [en# 65].

At best, those who call themselves Christians are calling themselves by the TITLE of a man, and not by his name.  I dare say there is nothing wrong with having a nickname, but you should at least know your real name.  Those who call themselves Jew are, at best, calling themselves by a sub family name down from Israel.

What of the New Name

Can we know what "Israel" has to say on this matter?  Yes.  A review of Revelation 2:17 tells us how and when he will give his people a new name.  In Revelation 2:17 [en# 66] (and surrounding text), we are in the end times and each man worthy to receive will get a new name written on a white stone and only those receiving the white stone will know the name.  Easily, the name could be the same for all "Israel's" people or they could each have a new name, so that Hank is now Tom and Betty is now Sally and so forth.  Regardless, the timing is around the return of Yahshua/Israel, the ENDTIMES, not now or prior to his return.  Some of the criteria for those who get a new name is found in verses 11 & 19.

11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;
He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works;
and the last to be more than the first.

It seems clear it is not a matter of faith OR works, but rather a combination of both and more.  It is interesting to notice that works is mentioned twice in that NEW TESTAMENT verse.  In verse 11, we are told these people are those who OVERCOME.  You can not overcome if you do not participate and survive and win.  So, it seems that "Israel's" people will suffer the tribulation and survive it (there are many ways to survive it) to finally be an Overcomer AND get a new name.

This verse set does not say that everyone will get a new name, only those who are worthy and chosen.

The same message is given in Revelation 3:12 [en# 67] (and surrounding text).  A seemingly minor variant is that HIS new name will be written ON THE MAN, rather than written on a white stone.  For purposes of this writing it is not needed to delve into the meanings of writing on the white stone and writing on the man.  In both cases, the man (men) will know their new name and this will happen in the end times and the measure of these men has been given us.  Since the first and present name of God is "Israel" and he calls his people by His name, it is reasonable to presume that God's new name will be the same as the new name for his people.

What of the Jews

Then there are those people, even Christians, who say the "Jews" are God's chosen people.  They are referring to a 20th century people calling themselves "jew".  Does it seem a bit self destructive, or at least an oxymoron, for a Christian to proclaim they are God's people, to also say the Jews are God's chosen people?  There is nothing in Scripture that supports that the Jews of old or the modern people calling themselves "jew" are God's people.  The best that can be said is that Israelites (not Israeli) are God's chosen people.  Even then, Israel (the people) were chosen to lead by example.  Jacob who was renamed Israel, whereby giving rise to the family name Israel, had 12 sons named Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin.  From the descendants of these twelve sons of Israel (Jacob) came the twelve tribes of Israel.  Only 1/12th of these families can claim lineage as a Jew.  The name Jew is derived from the Israel tribe name of Judah.  Without getting into the cross language variations and slangs as well as time twisted variants, the name Jew is merely a small part of the klan which can lay claim to being God's chosen people.

NOTHING here is anti-anything, and definitely not anti-semetic.  Since Semites are the descendants of Shem (son of Noah), then anyone of that linage is a Semite.  This writer (and LOTS of people in the world) claims lineage of Shem and Abraham, hence he is a Semite and is not be anti-self.

Having said that, the people of the 20th century calling themselves "jew" are not the same as the descendants of Judah.  That is a study in other writings available from the same source as this one.

What of Jerusalem?

The city Jersalem does not get its name from any part of the family of Israel.  Jersalem was founded prior to Jacob.

When Israel was under the rule of David, Jerusalem (which became known as the city of David) was already at least two thousand years old.  Its original, or early,  inhabitants were not Isralites (or Jews) but Canaanites, Amorites, Jebusites, Hittites and other people whom had their own culture and language, industry and agriculture.

Possibly the oldest known name of the city is "Urusalem" of Amoritic origin.  "Salem" or "Shalem" was the name of a Canaanite-Amorite god and loosely means "peace", while "uru" meant "founded by".  The names of the two oldest rulers of the city, Saz Anu and Yaqir Ammo, were identified by the American archaeologist W. F. Albright as Amoritic.  The Amorites, according to the Bible, are the original people of the land of Canaan. They had the same language as the Canaanites and were of the same Semitic stock.  Many historians believe the Amorites are an offshoot of the Canaanites who came originally from the Arabian Peninsula.  This is supported in Scripture at Ezekiel 1:6

Thus say the Lord God to Jerusalem. Your Origin and your birth are of the land of the Canaanites, your father was an Amorite, and your mother a Hittite.
In the second thousand years of its existance, Jerusalem was inhabited by the Jebusites. In the Bible the Jebusites are considered to be Canaanites. It was the Jebusites who first built the fortress Zion in the town. Zion is a Canaanite word which means "hill" or "height."

The second name of "Jerusalem" was "Jebus" which is Yebuwc {yeb-oos'}in Hebrew.  It means "threshing place".  The culture of Jebus was Canaanite, an ancient society which built many towns with well-built houses, in numerous city-states. With industry and commerce and an alphabet and religion which flourished for two thousand years.  All of which was later borrowed by the primitive Hebrews.

During these two thousand years, Jerusalem did not belong to the people of Israel (Israelites).  Judges 19:1-12 [en# 68], in short says

10 in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine ....
11 And when they were by Jebus [an early name for Jerusalem], the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
12 And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
The name "Jerusalem" is "Yeruwshalaim" {yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im}in Hebrew and was subsequently adopted as the name of the city loosely meaning "city of peace".

The word/name "Jerusalem" does NOT come from any of the tribes of Israel.  The sons of Jacob were/are

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin

What of the land called Israel?

The use of a name of a people to describe a land area is only to show who occupies the land.  Of all the tribes of Israel only the whole family name and one tribe name were ever used to refer to the lands of a people.  First, the whole of the land the Israelites occupied was known as the land OF Israel.  After the death of Solomon, ten, or so, tribes claimed the Northern lands and it was known as the land OF Israel, while two, or so, tribes claimed the Southern lands and it was known as the land OF Judah (the dominant tribe of the Southern group).  The land was not named, but merely referred to who lived there.  The sons of Jacob were/are

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin

Judah and Benjamin and some of Levite occupied the Southern lands.

The lands inhabited by any of these tribes could be called the land-OF-Israel or the land-OF-Judah.  The use of the name "Israel" or "Judah" refers to a land occcupied by any of the people of Israel (tribes of Jacob), or Israel (the Northern tribes after the the death of Solomon) or Judah (the Southern tribes after the death of Solomon) .  The land is only referred to as the land occupied by the inhabitants.  It is never the name of a geographical region.

The CREATION of a modern (20th & 21st century) country called Israel began at least with a letter from Arthur James Balfour on November 2nd, 1917 to Lord Rothschild.  The CREATION of a modern country called Israel was official on May 14th, 1948.

The creation of the modern country called Israel is a political move and, for some, is probably a political/religious move to manipulate large masses of people to take sides of conflict (such as the Palestinians, Arabs, and IsraeLIES) and become more willing to accept central rule.

More on the theft of Palestine land to CREATE a country called Israel in other writings available from the same source as this one.

BUT, this politcal game does not necessarily fulfill prophecy.

It is in the Name

Being a Christian or being a Jew, in and of itself will not be your salvation.  If what you call yourself is of any importance, then using the correct name is ALL important.

If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Remember the riddle of Scripture presented at the beginning of this paper?  Proverbs 30:1 [en# 19.3] asks

"Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists?
who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth?
what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?"

By now, you should know the name of the Father is "Yah".  The name of the Son in flesh is "Yahshua" , the Name by which You Might be Saved is "Israel".  The name of His People who are Called by His Name is "Israel" or "Israelite".

His name is "Israel", who came in the flesh as "Yahshua".

Who are you?  Who is Your God?

So, who are you?   I am of  Israel.   I am an Israelite.

What is the name of your God?  The name of my God is Israel.

What is the name of the Son of your God?  The name of the Son of my God is Yahshua.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

2 Chronicles 7:12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
 17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
 19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

2 Stand in the gate of the LORD'S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
 5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
 9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
 13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

34 But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

Proverbs 30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.
3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

John 10: 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

 2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4 Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
5 And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
32 Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.

John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. [This seems to clarify which God no man has seen.  No man has seen the Father, but they could have seen the Son]
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Isaiah 44:1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the LORD'S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, the first man adam was made a living soul; the last adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this i say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of god; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, i shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.

Exodus 4:19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

Exodus 8:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:
4 And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.
5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
6 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.
11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.
14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank.
15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.
19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.
5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
6 And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
12 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
13 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Exodus 33:8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.
8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
20 And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.
22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.
25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Isaiah 43:3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
8 Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isaiah 65:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
 2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
 3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

Acts 11:25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Acts 26:23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
30 And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
 12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
 18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Judges 19:1 And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
2 And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
3 And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
4 And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
5 And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.
6 And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry.
7 And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
8 And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart: and the damsel's father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
9 And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
10 But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
11 And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
12 And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
