"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident."

Whatever the evil (poison) is, it must be presented in a mix of something good, or good for you.
Rat poison is like this, 99.5% of the ingredients are tasty and nutritious for the rat
(otherwise, they wouldn't eat it, would they?).  Only .5% (1/2 percent) is deadly.
I am reminded of Dad's special brownies.  It is the same truth.

[This has been around a while in one form or another, but still good  --  Tribble]

Don't grab your Bible.  You are challenged to do this without any outside assistance. One bit of advice is to read through the following before you start trying to solve it. The instructions are in the paragraph. Enjoy!

There are 30 books of the Bible in this paragraph. Can you find them? This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his john boat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Taylor, a columnist friend, was so intrigued by it she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column. Another friend judges the job of solving this puzzle so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot. That's a fact. Some peoplae, however, will soon find themselves in a jam, especially since the book names are not necessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or a scholar to see some of them at the worst. Research has shown that something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph. During a recent fund raising event, which featured this puzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a new record. The local paper, The Chronicle, surveyed over 200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of the most difficult they had ever seen. As Daniel Humana humbly puts it, "The books are all right here in plain view hidden from sight." Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that may help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really well against those who claim to know the answers. Remember, there is no need for a mad exodus; there really are 30 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph waiting to be found. God Bless.

  - "Imagine Mr. and Mrs. Orange County buying their home  some years ago for $500,000," writes Daily Reckoning reader  David Cantwell (who moonlights as the Managing Director for  the Orange County, California office of Studley, a leading  national commercial real estate firm). "They put $100,000  down and have a mortgage debt of $400,000. Some years  later, they sell their home for $1 million. They 'made'  $500,000. Using this new money, and smitten by low interest  rates, Mr. and Mrs. OC go buy a bigger home for $1,200,000.  With all that extra money, they decide to put only $400,000  down on the new home. They now have a new mortgage debt of  $800,000. They use the balance to buy cars, electronics,  vacations and other things that will have little monetary  value, if any, in just a few years.

- "What happened to Mr. and Mrs. OC's balance sheet?" Mr.  Cantwell wonders aloud, getting out the magnifying glass  for a closer look. "First, one does not get richer selling  a house that was worth a million dollars for a million  dollars. There was no increase in value, the home doesn't  have any more value than before; it just costs more. It's  the same house. It would cost a million dollars to buy it  back.

- "Second," Cantwell continues, "they have more than  doubled their property tax liability (going from  ~$6,000/year to ~$14,400 per year). Third, they have  doubled their debt from $400,000 to $800,000. Fourth, since  they spend some of the equity on other items (that  depreciate to almost zero value in a few short years) they  reduced both their cash and consequently net worth. Fifth,  the selling costs were about $66,000. So, while they have a  better house, and some neat stuff, they have twice the  debt, twice the payments, twice the property tax liability,  and reduced their net worth by over $66,000 (more if they  bought things that depreciate in value quickly) and  increased their mortgage debt by 100%. Are Mr. and Mrs. OC  better off?

[George Orwell wrote of a time when everything would be its own opposite, such as "yes" meaning "no" and "no" means "yes", "right" means "wrong" and "wrong" means "right" and other distortions.  Surely you have heard of a burglar breaking into a house and getting hurt in the process, then they sue the homeowner and the government supports the burglar's case against the homeowner, but not prosecuting the burglar.  Here is another such case.  The Scripture tells of a time at the end when this kind of thing will be a sign of the end.   --  Tribble]

Say the N-Word, Go to Legal Hell

by Edgar J. Steele

January 23, 2003
In a rare win for America's politically incorrect, Lonny Rae finally has been vindicated for hurling the N-word at a black man who mauled his wife.

Today, the Idaho Court of Appeals ruled that Lonny Rae is a free man.  The feds could retry him under civil rights statutes, I suppose, but we don't expect that to happen.

But, it could happen.  Remember, this is Idaho, "The Human Rights State," where those who think differently better keep it to themselves.  I know.  Lonny Rae wasn't the first free speech desperado I have defended here.Remember Lonny Rae?   He's the fellow who faced five years in prison for slinging the N-word at the black guy who had just mauled his wife.  She was a reporter, on assignment for the local newspaper, who took a picture of one of the referees following a high school football game late in 2000.  Kenneth Manley, the referee who appears in the following picture, didn't like it and grabbed her around the neck as she walked away, in an attempt to take the camera from her.

This is the snapshot
of Kenneth Manley
that started it all.

We sought and received a change in venue so that Lonny Rae didn't have to submit to the judgment of members of the small community in central Idaho (Council) where he was held in such low esteem for "gittin' the football team in trouble," as so eloquently put by the town ruffian that then proceeded to break Lonny's ankle in a fistfight one cold evening after the referees' association had placed the Council High School on probation for "fan harassment."

The harassment?  After Manley let go of Lonny's wife and disappeared into the red brick field house to shower and change clothes, Lonny got a good look at the injury to his wife's neck and went ballistic.  He turned and shouted into the building: "Tell that nigger to get out here, 'cuz I'm a gonna kick his butt."
The referee never was charged with assault and battery (and still never has been charged with anything), yet Lonny was booked for a violation of Idaho's Malicious Harassment statute (the hate crime law).  That was when the media from nearby Boise went into an orgy, covering the "racist" Lonny Rae both in print and on TV.  Lonny never again got work in the area.
Even the local newspaper got in on the act, eventually referring to Lonny's wife as "the antichrist."  Yes, that is the same newspaper that had assigned her to cover the football game in the first place.  And, yes, that is the same newspaper that let her go when advertisers threatened to pull their ads if she remained on staff.

"Welcome to Council," says
the sign at the town outskirts,
"The community that cares."

They claim it was just coincidental that Lonny got charged only a day or so after the referees' association placed the football program on probation.

Following a quick two-day jury trial, Lonny Rae was acquitted of the hate crime charge (a five-year prison term could have resulted from a conviction).  However, just before jury deliberations, and over my strenuous objection (we already had rested Lonny's defense), the judge added assault and disturbing the peace as lesser-included offenses for the jury's consideration.  The jury convicted Lonny of assault.  A month later, the judge sentenced him to seven days in the county jail, suspended pending appeal.

Today, the Idaho Court of Appeals stated:  "Because we have concluded that assault is not a lesser included offense of malicious harassment in this case, Rae's judgment of conviction for assault is vacated."

See Attorney for the Damned, the article I wrote directly following the basic jury trial over a year ago, for a complete description of what happened in the courtroom before the jury got the case, as well as a better summary of the "lesser-included offense" problem as I then saw it (http://www.conspiracypenpal.com/columns/damned.htm) .

Today, the Court of Appeals seized upon the "does some act which creates a well-founded fear in the other person" language of Idaho's assault statute, in holding that assault is not a logical subset of the hate crime law.  Go figure.  Of course, on the stand, the black guy confessed that he was never afraid of Lonny Rae, so the distinction is valid in this case.  I simply figure there are better reasons for distinguishing the two statutes, but, then, nobody except Lonny Rae ever has cared what I think.

Go here for the full text of the judicial decision published today:  Idaho v. Rae, Docket No. 28229, 2004 Opinion No. 8 (http://www2.state.id.us/judicial/opinions/rae.pdf)

The trial judge did not require the jury to enter a finding on Disturbing the Peace if it convicted Lonny of Assault, which is why a judgment of acquittal on all charges must now be entered, despite the appellate court also ruling today that Disturbing the Peace is a lesser-included offense of the Idaho Hate Crime statute.

What I found most ironic about the decision issued today is the language quoted from another case by the judges, used to justify the trial judge's adding a lesser-included offense to the charges after the defense had rested and with no prior notice to either side: "Our courts are not gambling halls but forums for the discovery of truth...neither the prosecution nor the defense should be allowed, based on their trial strategy, to preclude the jury from considering guilt of a lesser offense included in the crime charged." (State v. Watts, 131 Idaho 782, 784-785, Ct App, 1998)

Yes, the judge's conduct seems ironic in light of prosecutors never suffering any penalty for overloading their charge sheets so as to guarantee convictions and heavy penalties.  But, what I find most curious is that this "forum for the discovery of truth" didn't care about the fact that the only person who actually did commit assault, as well as battery, and physically injured another person, was never charged with anything!  Who?  Why, the black guy, of course.  Remember, he attacked and injured Lonny Rae's wife.  After all, that's what got Lonny Rae so mad in the first place.

The red rash that Lonny's wifereceived when Manley held herwhile trying to take her camera. (Photo taken by investigating officer.)

If the courtroom is a "forum for the discovery of truth," then somebody please explain to me why the black guy sat there in front of the judge, walked away and, to this day, has never been charged with a thing.

Yet Lonny Rae and his wife both lost their jobs, he got his foot broken by the town ruffian, then they lost their home and many possessions when they ran out of money, then they had to move away. Because he did the right thing and stood up for his wife's honor.  Because he objected to the brutalizing inflicted upon her by the black guy who was never charged with anything.

Already, we have seen that "the truth" is nothing but an accidental byproduct of our courts today.  Now, it should be clear to the most casual observer that justice, real justice, often is absent as well.

By the way, in case you were wondering, I handled this case, including the appeal, pro bono, because I thought the principles involved were so important to the rest of us.  The court didn't even award us costs for our successful appeal.  Your tax dollars paid for the considerable sum it took to bring Lonny Rae to trial, though.

New America.  An idea whose time has come.

The Damning Proof that TV DOES Corrupt Our Young
 Daily Mail 11/1/04.
contributing editor Viv

The damning proof that TV DOES corrupt our young Professor Robert Winston

The average three or four-year - old British child watches TV for around five hours each day. And, more than 50 per cent of three-year-olds have TVs in their bedrooms.

Ironically, as someone who presents TV programmes, I find these statistics profoundly worrying.

In America, children spend even more time in front of a screen-on average, six-and-a-half hours a day-either watching TV, playing video games or surfing the internet.

Violent acts dominate much of what they view. By the time they are 18, American children will have seen around 16,000 simulated murders and 200,000 acts of violence on TV.

Fortunately, exposure to media and electronic violence in Britain does not-yet - remotely reach the levels in the U.S.

We should not, however, be complacent. For there can no longer be any doubt that the media shapes the attitudes of children, strongly influencing how they behave with other people in the world around them.

Vivid

I recently had a vivid experience of what effect viewing one act of TV violence had on a group of children. They were taking part in a televised experiment in which I was loosely involved, in the current BBCl series Child Of Our Time.

Four three-year-olds sat in a room watching events in a separate playroom on a TV screen. An actor entered the playroom and the children saw him cuddling a life-size doll.

The children were then led, one by one, into the same room, and each was filmed.

Without any guidance, they stroked and caressed the doll, copying the actions they had just witnessed on screen.

Later, the children were all back in the viewing room. This time they watched the actor entering with a large wooden hammer. He proceeded to strike the doll vigorously with it.

On this occasion, when the normally well-behaved toddlers were led back into the playroom, each attacked the doll furiously.

One toddler, usually bashful and timid, got completely carried away, continuing his violence for more than six minutes-even after his mother had come in to tell him to 'be nice to the doll'. Eventually he had to be pulled away and calmed down.

With this experiment, a direct link can be drawn between TV violence and the behaviour of children. But is there really hard scientific evidence that watching TV affects how children interact with other people, rather than just what they do with their toys and dolls?

Well, yes-the evidence continues to pile up steadily.

Violent

Original studies were initiated in the Sixties. They showed that when boys aged from six to ten were exposed to violent behaviour on TV, they were far more likely to demonstrate aggressive behaviour themselves.

Since then, there have been more than 3,500 research studies examining the relationship between media violence and real-life violent behaviour. All but 18 or those showed a strong link.

Researchers report a variety of connected problems, including more than average aggressive behaviour, desensitisation to violence, anxiety, depression, sleep loss and nightmares.

These, of course, are all immediate effects. But are there long-term repercussions for society? Again, the news is disturbing. Those studies in the Sixties showed a slight trend: boys exposed to TV violence were more likely than others to show aggressive attitudes 15 or more years later.

Much more recently, in separate projects, Dr Huesmann of the University of Michigan and Dr Jeffrey Johnson in New York state have shown that such aggressive traits are increased even when other factors such as social deprivation, intelligence and parenting are taken into account.

Part of the reason must be not only how long children are watching TV, but what they are watching. The U.S. National Television Violence study reviewed roughly 10,000 hours of broadcast programming between 1995 and 1997.

A staggering 61 per cent of the programmes portrayed violence between people - often highly glamorised.

Statistics for music videos are even more worrying- 80 percent show violence, a huge proportion of it perpetrated against women or black people.

The kind of violence viewed is an important factor, too: children seeing the 'unbelievable' violence shown in films featuring superheroes, for example, may gain fantastical notions about the body's ability to withstand injury.

Influence

Of course, not all children exposed to such viewing will become. violent. But the link can no longer be denied.

So, as parents, how do we counter the effect?

One cause for concern in Britain is that so many children watch TV alone in their bedrooms. So we lose the mediating effect of watching with a parent- the possibility of discussing, explaining and interpreting what has been seen.

We happily assure our children that there are no monsters under their beds or in their cupboards. Yet perhaps we forget the influence of a certain one-eyed monster sitting in the corner of so many bedrooms-assuming it is a distracting, calming influence.

But it obviously isn't sufficient for parents simply to watch programmes with their children.

We need to employ greater vigilance when it comes to our offspring's access to different media.

Some violent TV and video games should be avoided altogether. And if adults were able to spend more time engaging with children-particularly taking physical exercise-then, aside from reducing exposure to violent images, major health benefits could result.

Perhaps the Government might also consider some properly focused public campaigns. Universities and schools, too, could play a more positive role.

Awareness of the influence of the media should also be an important part of teacher training. Schools should teach how the media works, what effects it may have, how to reject unhealthy messages and how to discriminate between TV fantasy and reality.

But a sense of proportion is needed. If you remember the experiment with the toddlers and the doll, it is not the hammer that is violent but the actor wielding it. The instrument itself is merely a tool-one which, when used responsibly, proves invaluable.

Make no mistake: TV, for good or ill, is one of the greatest educational tools in contemporary society. It's how we use it that matters-especially to our children.

ROBERT WINSTON is professor of fertility studies at Imperial College, London. Child Of Our Time continues on BBCl on Tuesdays at 9pm.

Who Rules the World - How & Why
reprinted from http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/NWO
contributing editor Larry

Five men rule the world. This Council of Five consists of Baron Guy de Rothschild, Evelyn de Rothschild, George Pratt Shultz, Robert Roosa (from Bush's family firm of Brown Brothers Harriman) and one vacancy, at this writing. In the past several years, members of the Council who have died include Averill Harriman, Lord Victor Rothschild, and Prince Thurn und Taxis of Regensburg, Germany. None of them holds public office, but they choose who shall hold office in the nations. These five men comprise the apex of the pyramid of power, the World Order. We may ask, Why should there be a World Order? Is it not sufficient to hold absolute power in a single nation, or in a group of nations? The answer is NO, because of the nature of international travel, international trade, and international finance. International travel requires that a person may travel in peace from one nation to another, without being molested. Excepting cases of anarchy, revolution or war, this requirement can usually be met. International trade requires that traders of one nation can go to another nation, transact their business, and return with their goods or their profits. This requirement too is usually met. If not, the offended nation can exercise military force, as Great Britain did in its Opium Wars.

It is the third requirement, international finance, which called into being the World Order. In earlier days, when international trade consisted of barter, payment in gold or silver or piracy, the seizure of goods by force, there was no need for a world arbiter to determine the value of instruments of trade. The development of paper money, stocks, bonds, acceptances and other negotiable instruments necessitated a power, able to exercise influence anywhere in the world, to declare that a piece of paper represented one billion dollars in real wealth, or even one dollar in real wealth. An entry on a computer, flashed from London to New York, states that someone owes five billion dollars to someone else. Without genuine power banking, no such sum could ever be collected, regardless of the factuality or morality of the debt. As anyone in the Mafia can tell you, you don't collect unless you are willing to break legs. The World Order is always prepared to break legs, and break them they do, by the millions.

What would have happened to the earliest settlers in America if they had gone to the Indians and said, "Give us your goods and the deeds to your homes and lands. In return, we will give you this beautifully printed piece of paper." The Indians would, and did, attack them. If the settlers arrived with an army led by a Pizaro or a Cortes, they took the lands without a piece of paper.

The World Order rules with its pieces of paper, but behind every paper is a force which can be employed anywhere in the world. The force may be disguised by various subterfuges as international agreement, associations or other camouflage, but its base is always force.

The World Order rules through a simple technique, Divide and Conquer (Divide et impera). Every natural or unnatural division among people, every occasion for hatred or greed, is exploited and exacerbated to the limit. The polarization of racial and ethnic groups in the U.S. is accelerated by a flood of government decrees, originating in foundation "studies", which are designed solely to set American against American. Only in this way can the World Order maintain its iron grip on the daily lives of the people. The World Order also rules by the principle of 1984 - no groups of two or more people are allowed to gather unless the World Order has a representative present. If you start a club of dandelion fanciers, the Order will send someone who will be quietly helpful, avoid taking the front position, and who will offer to pay the rent of a meeting place or the printing of the minutes. In more radical groups, the Order's representative will be the first to suggest dynamiting a building, assassinating an official, or other violent action.

The international terrorism of the Communist Party originated in a small club of German and French working men in Paris, dedicated to quiet reading and discussion, until Karl Marx joined. It was then converted into a revolutionary group. This one example explains the Order's determination to allow no group, however insignificant, to remain unmonitored. The World Order adopted the Hegelian dialectic, the dialectic of materialism, which regards the World as Power, and the World as Reality. It denies all other powers and all other realities. It functions on the principle of thesis, antithesis and a synthesis which results when the thesis and antithesis are thrown against each other for a predetermined outcome. Thus the World Order organizes and finances Jewish groups; it then organizes and finances anti-Jewish groups; it organizes Communist groups; it then organizes and finances anti-Communist groups. It is not necessary for the Order to throw these groups against each other; they seek each other out like heat-seeking missiles, and try to destroy each other. By controlling the size and resources of each group, the World Order can always predetermine the outcome.

In this technique, members of the World Order are often identified with one side or the other. John Foster Dulles arranged financing for Hitler, but he was never a Nazi. David Rockefeller may be cheered in Moscow, but he is not a Communist. However, the Order always turns up on the winning side. A distinguishing trait of a member of the World Order, although it may not be admitted, is that he does not believe in anything but the World Order. Another distinguishing trait is his absolute contempt for anyone who actually believes in the tenets of Communism, Zionism, Christianity, or any national, religious or fraternal group, although the Order has members in controlling positions in all of these groups. If you are a sincere Christian, Zionist or Moslem, the World Order regards you as a moron unworthy of respect. You can and will be used, but you will never be respected.

It has taken centuries of patient effort for the World Order to attain the power it exercises today. Its origins as an international force go back to the Phoenician slave-traders, continues through the Phnariot families of the Byzantine Empire, then the Venetian and Genoese traders and bankers of the Middle Ages, who moved into Spain and Portugal, and later into England and Scotland. By the 14th Century, the Genoese controlled the Scottish landlords. The Imperial Family of the Byzantine Empire, the Paleologues (meaning 'the Word') were attacked by the Gnostic faction, whose materialistic Aristotelian philosophy was the forerunner of Hegelian dialective and Marxism. The Paleologues devoutly believed in the Christian faith, as expressed by the Orthodox Rite. The materialistic Venetian and Genoese armies, with the aid of the Turkish "infidels", looted and conquered Constantinople, the legendary "City of God". The Byzantine survivors recreated their culture in Russia, with Moscow as "the third Rome". The plan to destroy the Orthodox Church with its Romanov (new Rome) leaders was the hidden goal of the First World War. The victors came away with one billion dollars of the Romanov fortune, after achieving the defeat of their hated enemy, the Orthodox Church.

During the Middle Ages, European power centers coalesced into two camps, the Ghibellines, those who supported the Emperor's Hohenstaufen family, (an Italian adaptation of Weinblingen, the name of the Hohenstaufen estate), and the Guelphs, from Welf, the German prince who competed with Frederick for control of the Holy Roman Empire. The Pope then allied himself with the Guelphs against the Ghibellines resulting in their victory. All of modern history stems directly from the struggle between these two powers. The Guelphs, also called the Neri, or Black Guelphs, and Black Nobility, were the Normans who conquered England in the 11th century; the Genoese who backed Robert Bruce in his conquest of Scotland, and who supported William of Orange in his seizure of the throne of England. William's victory resulted in the formation of the Bank of England and the East India Company, which have ruled the world since the 17th century. Every subsequent coup d'etat, revolution and war has centered in the battle of the Guelphs to hold and enhance their power, which is now the World Order.

The power of the Guelphs grew through their control of banking and international trade. It was extended through the Italian centers to the north of Florence, in Lombardy, which became great financial centers. All Italian bankers, including the Genoese, the Venetians, and Milanese, were referred to as "Lombards": Lombard, in German, means "papers of monetary value (Wertpapiere)"; the Lombards were bankers to the entire Medieval world. Modern history begins with the transfer of their operations north to Hamburg, Amsterdam, and finally to London.

The great American fortunes originated with the Guelph slave trade to the colonies. Many of the slave traders doubled in piracy. Trinity Church, whose leading vestryman later was J.P. Morgan, was originally known as "the church of the pirates". Capt. William Kidd provided the material to build it in 1697, and a pew was reserved for him. He was arrested the next year, and hanged in chains at Newgate. In 1711, a slave market was set up on Wall Street near the church, and functioned there for many years.

Two of the most powerful influences in the world today are the international drug trade, which began with the East India Co., and international espionage, which began with the Bank of England.

Arizona makes secession preparations State resolution creates 'insurance policy' against martial law

An Arizona state legislative committee has approved a resolution calling for the dissolution of the federal government in the event that it abolishes the U.S. Constitution, declares martial law or confiscates firearms -- scenarios some say are not unrealistic. Critics of the resolution, however, call the measure a "total waste of time."

Rep. Karen Johnson, a Mesa Republican and chair of the House Committee on Federal Mandates and States' Rights, authored the resolution which the committee approved 3-2. Only the committee's vice-chair, Republican Rep. Gail Griffin, abstained from voting.

Specifically, House Concurrent Resolution 2034 outlines the origin of the United States, emphasizing the sovereignty of the states and their constitutional right to "establish a new federal government for themselves by following the precedent established by Article VII, Constitution of the United States, in which nine of the existing thirteen states dissolved the existing Union under the Articles of Confederation and automatically superceded the Articles."

It also articulates constitutional violations committed by the federal government as justification for the measure, saying "... the fifty current principals, or signatories, to the [Constitution] have done well in honoring and obeying it, yet the federal agent has, for decades, violated it in both word and spirit. The many violations of the Constitution of the United States by the federal government include disposing of federal property without the approval of Congress, usurping jurisdiction from the states in such matters as abortion and firearms rights and seeking control of public lands within state borders," says the resolution.

By adopting HRC 2034, Arizona states its intention to dissolve the current federal government with the approval of 34 other states and, in essence, start over. Participating states would re-ratify and re-establish the present Constitution "as the charter for the formation of a new federal government, to be followed by the election of a new Congress and President and the reorganization of a new judiciary," in keeping with the original intent of the "founding fathers." Individual members of the military will return to their respective states and report to the governor until a new president is elected.

In addition, each state will assume a prorated portion of the national debt and will own all land within its borders. After the new government is formed, the remaining 15 states will be permitted to join the revised union upon application, as was the case with the original union.

A three-year veteran to the Arizona Legislature, Johnson told the Sierra Times the resolution is "insurance policy." "If the federal government declares martial law or attempts to confiscate guns, the states shouldn't have to put up with that," she said.

Joseph Stumph, well-known author and historian, testified in favor of the resolution at the hearing.

"We're proposing that if things get as bad as they could get, that these states won't allow the federal government to put us into a one-world government," said Stumph, who is publishing a similar proposal in his home state of Utah. "I don't expect we'll get 35 states to sign on. The American people are not educated enough on this yet," he added.

The resolution was introduced Jan. 26, and now needs to be approved by the Arizona House. Should HRC 2034 successfully complete the legislative process, it will appear on the November ballot for voter approval. But one legislator does not think the measure will be taken seriously.

Rep. Bill Brotherton, a Democrat member of Johnson's committee, called efforts to promote the bill a "total waste of time."

"Obviously ... one of the more important issues we have is mental health in this state," Brotherton said mockingly. "I wonder if we are going to have a bill on the grassy knoll next to decide who shot Kennedy."

Johnson said she was asked by several Maricopa County residents to look into preventing the federal government from asserting power not authorized by the federal and state Constitutions. To Johnson, the resolution is a watered down, limited version of the "Ultimatum Resolution," written and promoted by Stump.

Johnson said HRC 2034 was introduced in response to recent actions by the Clinton administration regarding the Grand Canyon. On a recent trip to the landmark, President Clinton declared three new national monuments, threatening the property and livelihood of ranchers in the region.

Fears of martial law and firearm confiscation are mere "conspiracy theories" to some, but in light of the elaborate preparations government made for potential Y2K problems -- including a ready-to-sign executive order giving Clinton the equivalent of dictatorial powers -- "these fears have become real possibilities," according to Johnson.

Johnson also made it clear that the action of possible secession should only take place if the federal government suspends or violates the Constitution without approval from the state.

"There may be times when the nation may be at war, and such steps may need to be taken. But the states should have a backup plan if necessary," she said.

Arizona is not alone in its fears. Johnson noted other legislators in other states are considering taking similar steps.

Despite her current success with HRC 2034, Johnson is not relying solely on non-binding resolutions to ensure state sovereignty. She has been joined by a coalition of six other Arizona state representatives, private ranchers and other states' legislators in a lawsuit filed against the federal government.

The lawsuit is an attempt to reverse creation of the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, which covers more than 1 million acres of land, roughly the same amount as Grand Canyon National Park. The group says national monument status will affect use and access to its private property, which will be surrounded by the federal property.

It also asks the court to find the 1906 Antiquities Act, used to create the Parashant monument, unconstitutional. The coalition's lawyer claims the president "has taken the act to the point of actually abusing the rights of people in the West."

The act gives presidents emergency authority to protect threatened federal lands or "objects of historic and scientific interest," but lawyer Lana Marcussen said that in using the act for a non-emergency case, the president has gone too far.

I'M WITH JOHN MADDEN: NO MORE COMMERCIAL FLYING FOR ME

[I too choose not to fly commercial, but then I have little reason to fly any other way.  I had already resisted flying prior to 9/11/01, and my reasons were the same then as now.  There has been too much pomp and pretense in the guise of security.  I have not been able to enter an airport causeway or a courthouse or other such place without 1st undressing.  It does not matter whether it is the coins in my pocket or a nail clipper, or a watch, or a belt buckle, or metal shanks in my boots, or eyelets on a snap (not button) shirt, or pens.  I have to remove all those things to pass through those NONsecurity checkpoints.  Then I have to get dressed on the other side.  In the court houses, you have to ask why the people there think they need protection.  Could it be they are doing something wrong and fear retribution?  God will get them.  Now of days, the trouble has only gotten worse.  Now you have to remove your tennis shoes and present some alleged proof of who you are.  Without such “proof” you do not exist, in spite of the fact you are standing before them.]

After retiring from coaching, former Oakland Raiders Head Coach and now popular sportscaster John Madden hung up his wings. He had been forced to spend numerous hours flying commercial airliners with his NFL team, but upon retiring he said, "No more flying for me."

When first approached to take a position as a professional sportscaster, Madden said he would only consider the offer if he could travel to games via a bus. The networks agreed, and Madden hasn't flown since. I think Madden has the right idea.

While Madden's decision to stay out of the "friendly" skies was made several years before the terrorist attacks in 2001 and was doubtless made for other, and more personal, reasons, it seems especially sagacious in light of recent decisions by the Bush administration. According to the Washington Post and CBS News, President Bush plans to color code every passenger who flies a commercial airliner.

News reports state that airlines and airline reservation companies would be forced to turn over all passenger records to U.S. government officials. The government would then assign a color code to each passenger, ostensibly determined by the passenger's "threat level."

Passengers would be assigned a red, yellow, or green color. A red coded passenger would be stopped from boarding; yellow would require additional screening at security checkpoints, and green would mean only standard security for boarding. The government plans to implement the new system next month.

Reports also quote Transportation Security Administration (TSA) spokesmen as saying frequent flyers could receive special passes which would allow faster check-in if they were willing to allow the government to access their personal information. Of course, this information would be entered into a government database.

To any person familiar with the incremental methods used by totalitarian regimes to regulate and control their populations, this latest measure being enacted by President Bush can only be regarded as "scary." By now, it should be obvious to every thinking person that the Bush administration is composed of a bunch of "control freaks" who are attempting to turn America into a police state!

Freedom and independence are extremely fragile commodities. They can only be maintained by an alert and vigilant citizenry. Unless the people of the United States awaken from their obvious passivity, what freedoms we have left will quickly vanish!

It's time to face it: President Bush is no friend of liberty, and neither is he a friend to constitutional government nor national sovereignty. Four more years of a Bush administration could very well mean the death knell of freedom in these United States.

The character and constitutional ignorance of Washington politicians being what they are, the only scenario that offers even a modicum of opportunity for freedom to last a while longer is for one party to occupy the White House while the other party controls Congress. It seems party stalemate is about the only thing that is somewhat favorable to freedom these days.

Obviously, the ideal solution would be for Americans to throw off the current two-party system altogether and elect independent men and women of real honor and character who would have the courage to obey the U.S. Constitution and to restore the principles contained in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, if one wants a foretaste of a burgeoning police state, just try boarding a commercial airline. Of course, once air travel has been completely Gestapoized, it's only a matter of time for ground travel. Until then, however, I think I'll postpone the leap into Big Brother's Brave New World by getting on the bus with John Madden.

Natures Revenge - sperm count
By Geoffrey Lean   Daily Mail 6/1/04
contributing editor Viv

[no URL available but reports like this have been in the news for decades]

As sperm counts plummet, is this proof our reliance on gender-bending chemicals will ultimately lead to man's extinction

The well-known prediction by T.S. Eliot could almost come true. For it is looking increasingly likely that the world will end not with a bang, but with a wimp.

A devastating new scientific study, reported in the Daily Mail yesterday, found that sperm counts in north-east Scotland have slumped by nearly a third in not much more than a decade.

It chimes with mounting evidence of alarming falls from around the world, suggesting that we could slowly be driving ourselves to sterile extinction. More and more, it seems that our own'poisoning of the planet is to blame.

Yesterday's study, by scientists and doctors at the University of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, looked at 7,500 men who attended the city's Fertility Centre between 1989 and 2002.

All had been found to have 'normal' sperm counts, producing more than 20 million sperm per millilitre, the level below which infertility begins.

But when looked at more closely, the records showed that the men tested in 2002 had, on average, just 62 million sperm per millilitre, compared to the 87 million recorded 13 years before-a drop of 29 per cent.

Of course, there is an obvious flaw. People who go to a fertility clinic are not typical-either they or their partners are likely to be having trouble reproducing. But much the same conclusions come from studies all round the world.

Research in more than 20 countries shows that average counts have fallen by well over half in the past 50 years, from 150 million per millilitre to 66 million. That means men are now proportionately producing only about two-fifths as much sperm as hamsters, which boast 160 million per millilitre.

More surreal still, tests on young men reveal that they are much less fertile than their fathers. Research in the 1990s showed that men born since 1970 produced a quarter fewer sperm than those born between 1950 and 1970.

Recent European studies have revealed that even late teenagers have remarkably little sperm compared to older men. Dr Richard Sharpe, a senior scientist at the Medical Research Council, wrote: 'There is reason to suspect that the same is true of young British men.' And still the fall goes on.  Scientists expect sperm counts to go on plunging by about two per cent a year. At that rate the average man will be unable to father children within decades.

Dr Siladitya Bhattacharya, who led the Aberdeen study, says it is 'almost impossible' to say what is causing this alarming slide towards mass sterilisation. But more and more clues point to pollution and chemicals.

The agency blames a particularly potent form of oestrogen from the contraceptive pill, which passes straight through sewage works into the rivers. One third of our drinking water comes from rivers. much from below such outfalls.

This was a fairly obvious culprit. But more and more common chemicals are being suspected of interfering with the hormone system by mimicking oestrogen or blocking testosterone.

They include PVG, the ubiquitous plastic; DDT, the infamous pesticide; dioxins, the notorious pollutants found almost everywhere, including in food; PCBs, one-and-a-half million tons of which have been spread around the world in countless uses from paints to plastics, phthalates, compounds found in foods and plastic wrappings; and scores'of others.

We, of course, are exposed to them and evidence is coming in that 'gender-bender' chemicals affect people.  One study found that Danish organic farmers, who largely eat chemical-free foods, have much higher sperm counts than other men, suggesting pesticides as one possible culprit in the mystery of falling fertility.

Much more scarily, recent research at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam has turned up the first solid clues that exposure to dioxins and PCBs is affecting children.

It measured the amount of the chemicals to which boys and girls were exposed in the womb - all were normal, mainly coming from ordinary foods their mothers ate -and then monitored how they played seven-and -a-half years later.

The more boys had been exposed to PCBs, the more they wanted to play with dolls and tea-sets and to dress up in girls' clothes. The chemicals had the reverse effect on girls, making them want to play with guns and pretend to be soldiers. Dioxins, by contrast, feminised the play of both sexes.

Surely this - on top of all the other evidence -should move the Government to action over hazardous chemcals. But no:  Blair has instead recently sabotaged an attempt to tackle them, at the behest - you've guessed it - of President Bush.

Last autumn, after years of dithering, the EU finally produced a directive that would have required testing for environmental ill-effects of chemicals already on the market.

President Bush objected - though, as European legislation, it was no business of his. Blair persuaded President Chirac of France and Chancellor Schroeder of Germany to join him in sending an official protest to the EU, and the - already weak directive was greatly watered down.

After Iraq and GM crops, this episode will - not surprise anyone. But if yesterday's report from Aberdeen is anything like what it seems, it is likely to prove a greater crime against the future than anything in the Hutton report.

Homeowner charged after shooting intruder
Family protected but suburban town prohibits possession of handguns
Contributing editor Wendell

[The victim is punished worse than the attacker.  The world is upside down.  With each passing day, if you are paying attention, you have noticed that the matter is getting worse.  It is not getting worse only for guns rights, but also for marriage, whites, men, national sovereignty, and do not forget God.  When will the situation improve?  It will improve when either the people finally take a stand or when the Messiah returns.]

A Chicago-area homeowner protected his family by shooting an intruder but was charged with violating a local ordinance banning possession of handguns.

Wilmette, Ill., Police Chief George Carpenter believes charges against Hale DeMar, 54, underscore the suburban village's serious concerns about the shooting, the Chicago Tribune reported.

"The outcome of the matter in this case was very fortunate for the homeowner," he said. "We much prefer, for the safety of the home, that a resident who finds himself in this situation immediately lock the door of the room he's in and dial 911."

DeMar also is charged with violating state law by failing to renew his Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification Card after it expired in 1988, the Tribune said.

Morio Billings, 31, is accused of entering the DeMar home twice within 24 hours. He allegedly crawled through a dog door in the garage then returned with a stolen house key.

Prosecutors say Billings crashed through the home's front window after he was shot then drove himself to the hospital in the family's SUV, which he had stolen the night before.

Billings, convicted last year of a similar home burglary in an affluent Minneapolis suburb, is now in the Cook County Jail with bail set at $3 million.

Police said DeMar shot Billings in the shoulder and calf at about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 29 in the kitchen of his home.

DeMar, a restaurant owner, faces up to a year in jail, a $2,500 fine or court supervision or probation if convicted on the charge of owning a handgun without a valid firearms card. The village's handgun ordinance carries a separate fine of up to $750.

He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6 to face both charges.

The Tribune said the case has prompted dozens of people from out-of-state to contact village officials with complaints about DeMar's treatment.

Chief Carpenter insists local residents have responded favorably, however.

"Wilmette residents are much safer without a handgun in their homes," he told the Tribune. "We see handguns stolen, used in domestic arguments or suicides. Those are far more likely outcomes than when you would actually need a handgun to defend yourself."

Carpenter said he regrets "the intrusion on this family's privacy."

"He strikes us as being a good man with a good heart who did something that apparently came naturally to him," he said of DeMar. 'That's why it's important the Wilmette police speak out now."

The Tribune noted the city of Chicago and a number of other municipalities in the area also ban possession of handguns.

Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association, told the Tribune he believes handgun bans are outrageous.

"The right to self-defense is the right that all creatures on this Earth have, including Wilmette," he said. "What they do is they make the citizens in these villages and towns fair game."

US Supreme Court does Nothing to Save 2nd Amendment

[The previous article is bad enough, and now the Supreme court basically says it does not care.]

Supreme Court Refuses to Confirm Constitutional Right to Bear Arms
NewsMax.com Wires    Monday, Dec. 1, 2003
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2003/12/1/111130.shtml

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court disappointed gun rights groups Monday by refusing to consider whether the Constitution guarantees people a personal right to own a gun.

The court has never said if the right to "keep and bear arms" applies to individuals.

Although the Bush administration has endorsed individual gun-ownership rights, it did not encourage the justices to resolve the issue in this case, involving a challenge of California laws banning high-powered weapons.

Many other groups wanted the court to take the politically charged case, including the National Rife Association, the Pink Pistols, a group of gay and lesbian gun owners; the Second Amendment Sisters; Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws; and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.

"Citizens need the Second Amendment for protection of their families, homes and businesses," lawyer Gary Gorski of Fair Oaks, Calif., wrote in the appeal filed on behalf of his rugby teammates and friends.

The challengers included a police SWAT officer, a Purple Heart recipient, a former Marine sniper, a parole officer, a stockbroker and others with varied political views.

Timothy Rieger, California's deputy attorney general, said the case involved regulations on "rapid-fire rifles and pistols that have been used on California's school grounds to kill children." Even if the challengers won, there are virtually identical national restrictions passed by Congress on assault weapons, he told the court.

The Second Amendment says, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

A panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the amendment's intent was to protect gun rights of militias, not individuals. A more conservative appeals court in New Orleans has ruled that individuals have a constitutional right to guns.

Justices refused without comment to review the 9th Circuit's decision.

One 9th Circuit judge, Alex Kozinski, said the panel was off-base and its "labored effort to smother the Second Amendment by sheer body weight has all the grace of a sumo wrestler trying to kill a rattlesnake by sitting on it, and is just as likely to succeed." He and some other judges had wanted to reverse the decision.

The decision was written by Judge Stephen Reinhardt, who said the Supreme Court's guidance on the meaning of the right to bear arms was "not entirely illuminating."

The high court's last major gun case was in 1939, when justices upheld a federal law prohibiting the interstate transport of sawed-off shotguns.

Daniel Schmutter of Paramus, N.J., representing Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, had told the justices in a filing that they should decide "once and for all" what protections gun owners have.

The case is Silveira v. Lockyer, 03-51.

RFID
This article relates to one last month

The numbers here are staggering, so pay attention.

These new wonders intended for use in tracking products and people are more powerful than even your PC.  They are more powerful in terms of the "word size"
of their processing power.  Your PC is probably a 32bit processor, which means it can handles a "word size" of 32 bits.  The English word "car" is a 3 bit word, but in computer terms, that would be represented by a combination of bits "1's" and "0's".  Another example might be the number “27”.  In your 32 bit computer that would be

0000000000000000000000000011011

In the new 64 bit processors that would be

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000011011

Likewise, the number 5,275,725,080,708,530,000 is represented by the 64 bit binary number
00100100100110111001001000000001001001000010000000100000001000001

Basically, add another 32 bits or placeholders.

WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?

Every bit is unique for identification.  In 32 bit words, the possible number of unique words (also know as serial numbers) is 8,589,934,592.  In 64 bit words, the possible number of unique words (also know as serial numbers) is 18,446,744,073,709,600,000.

With a 64 bit processor, the system using them can keep track of 18,446,744,073,709,600,000 individual items.  It does not matter whether these items are products on the shelf or PEOPLE.  Each item will have its own unique serial number.

Today, many people know a little about this kind of numbering system and it is called social security (SS).  The SS system has only 9 bits for identifying people, so the maximum number of people (items) would be 999,999,999.

A 32 bit system allows for about 10 times that many people or things to be tracked.  A 64 bit system allows for about 20 trillion TIMES MORE items and people to be tracked.

There are many ways to allocate the bits to represent regions of land or sex or any other demographic, but in the end the 64 bit serial number (by any other name) would be the unique identifier for everything and every person on the planet.

We do not have to worry about running out of numbers.  Before, we run out of numbers, either the next generation of processors, being 128 bits will be developed and/or people and products will be registered as deceased or destroyed or in some way no longer in existence.  This would free those numbers or re-assignment.

These are passive devices and only transmit a signal when prompted by a broadcast signal.  The premise is that when you get near a certain device like a cash register, a transmitted signal awakens the chip and it uses only a little energy to transmits its own signal which is a serial number.  Then it goes to sleep again.  The energy it needs to transmit can be gathered from the radio signals in the air or from temperature variants in your body or from motion.  In this way, the chips do not need power packs, which predictably need repair or replacement.

With this system, every thing and every person can be tracked.  These RFID’s are so small, from the size of a grain of rice.

http://msnbc.msn.com/Default.aspx?id=3607047&p1=0

down to the size of any letter of “IN GOD WE TRUST” in a dime.

http://cbn.com

For those who interpret Scripture to mean that this kind of device is needed to fulfill Revelation 13:16-17, THIS IS A SIGN OF THE TIME OF THE END.

Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Regardless of how you interpret this technology, it does not bode well for the Rights of the people.  There are many who will say it is a good thing.  It can be used to find children when lost or stolen.  It can be used to find military people when captured.  It can be used to track inventory and reduce theft in stores.  It can be used to track consumer habits and needs.  Yes, this is true.

But, with a single trigger signal from HAARP or satellites or cell towers or even general radio broadcasts, not to mention cash registers and security gates, these devices can be triggered to wake up and send their number, then GPS and other technology will be used to determine where that chip is and extrapolate with whom you spent last night, even in which room.

This number is all this chip contains.  Once the number is retrieved, then a data base in computers cross references the number to the person for whom the number is assigned.  All information about you or a product is contained in computers, not in the chip.

Big Brother is watching.
