Iran complains to UN over Obama 'nuclear blackmail' |

TEHRAN (AFP) - Iran has formally complained to the United Nations over
comments by US President Barack Obama which Tehran considers to be "nuclear
blackmail," the official IRNA news agency reported Wednesday.
In a letter submitted to the world's top diplomatic body on Tuesday, Tehran questions the "intent" of Washington's new nuclear policy and says it contains threats of nuclear attack against Iran, IRNA said.
"UN members should not tolerate or ignore such nuclear blackmail in the 21st century," says the letter, delivered by Iran's envoy to the UN Mohammad Khazai.
"The United States, in an illegitimate manner, has identified a non-nuclear country as a target of its atomic weapons and is drawing its military plans on this basis," the letter says, according to IRNA.
Last week Washington unveiled its reviewed nuclear policy which limits its use of nuclear arsenal but singles out Iran and North Korea as exceptions reportedly for flouting UN Security Council resolutions.
Obama himself in an interview with New York Times said Iran and North Korea were "outliers" when it came to his new nuclear policy.
"Such comments are not just expressing an intent, but are part of official documents which formulate the US policy in using atomic weapons against a non-nuclear country which is a NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) member," the letter says.
"And so it is a real threat to international peace and security and is also harming the NPT."
IRNA said the letter also says US officials such as Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have made "implicit threats" in public of "using nuclear weapons against Iran based on completely wrong assumptions."
It says Iran itself has been a victim of weapons of mass destruction in the past and is committed to creating a world without nuclear arsenals.
"UN members should take a firm measure to destroy all nuclear weapons as it is the only guarantee against their use or threats of using them," it says.
After a year of offering diplomatic initiatives towards Iran, Obama in recent weeks has stepped up global efforts to impose a fourth round of UN sanctions against Tehran for pursuing its nuclear programme.
Western countries want Iran to abandon the programme as they claim it is masking a weapons drive, a charge strongly denied by the Islamic republic.
On Tuesday, Obama said he was not interested in "having a long drawn-out
process for months" and appealed to world powers to "move forward boldly
and quickly" in sanctioning Iran.

The U.S. Supreme Court will be holding a private conference hearing on Friday, April 23rd 2010, to determine whether to hold a full court hearing on corruption charges within the Los Angeles County government for illegally imprisoning attorney Richard Fine. A rally to acknowledge the U.S. Supreme Court hearing will be held at the L.A. Superior Court building at 8 am Tuesday April 20th, by supporters of Richard Fine’s release from illegal imprisonment. Mainstream media has avoided any mention of this epic corruption scandal, despite its significance, and now it is on its way to the the Supreme Court.
Richard Fine, who holds a PhD in international law and served as an anti-trust prosecutor at the Department of Justice in Washington D.C., has been in jail in the L.A. County Jail for over a year in solitary confinement. He never had a trial, there has been no conviction, nor any sentence to keep him there. Sheriff LeRoy Baca claims he does not know why Fine is in jail, yet he keeps him there and failed to answer Fine’s Writ of Habeas Corpus. Baca refused to allow a filmed interview with Fine until Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit on behalf of Full Disclosure Network, and then, out of the blue, he “changed his mind” and granted a filmed interview with them!
Fine believes he is imprisoned because of political reasons:
1. Fine exposed L.A. Superior Court judges of taking illegal money from the County, in violation of the California State Constitution.
2. The County Supervisors were using public tax money to pay off the Superior Court judges.
3. The Superior Court Judges decided cases in favor of the County (Fine reports that since 2005 to present, only 3 people have won cases against the County as a result of the bribes).
4. The California State Legislature have given the judges and County Supervisors immunity from prosecution for their actions and misappropriation of taxpayer money.
5. The judges have tried to get Mr. Fine disbarred from the California State Bar as a result of the lawsuit he filed on behalf of the taxpayers who were denied “due process”.
6. Superior Court Judge David Yaffe (accused judge) failed to recuse himself and sent Fine to prison. He also failed to cite any precedent (denying Fine “due process”).
7. L.A. County Sheriff LeRoy Baca illegally imprisoned Fine, and Fine is in jail today.
8. Fine should have been released within 5 days, according to the law.
Sheriff LeRoy Baca was subject to term limits, but prior to his last election, he filed a lawsuit to get out from under term limits. The Superior Court judge ruled in his favor (surprise!). Term limits are a prevention against corruption. The lawsuit was approved by the County Supervisors who paid for it with the taxpayers’ money; the taxpayers had previously voted in term limits, but it was overturned for Sheriff Baca. Sheriff LeRoy Baca is up for re-election June 8, 2010. No one is running against him. He makes $268,000 a year in this position.
In this interview, Fine tells us that the special interests behind the County Supervisors are the real estate developers, who gave money to Supervisor Antonovich and Supervisor Knabe, who were then disallowed from voting on a related Environmental Impact Report that Fine submitted in a real estate development case. They voted illegally in favor of the developers.
This is how our government is usurped by criminals and corruption within
the system.
The Revolt of the States |

A major battle is looming over the Tenth Amendment, Obama, Reid Pelosi, Separation of powers between the States and the federal government
By Alan Caruba Wednesday, April 14, 2010
President Obama, his weird circle of advisors (czars), and the ideologues within the Democrat Party led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid only have a few months left to completely destroy the separation of powers between the States and the federal government.
A major battle is looming over the Tenth Amendment which declares that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Almost everywhere one looks today, the States are in rebellion to the overreaching of the federal government. The process involved is called nullification, a legal theory that a U.S. State has the right to nullify, i.e., invalidate, any federal law deemed unconstitutional. Since the Supreme Court moves at a glacial pace, the States through their legislatures have taken the lead in many cases.
Nullification is not secession as in the case of the Civil War, but there is a history of nullification that includes the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions against the Alien and Sedition Acts. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison both argued that the States are the ultimate interpreters of the Constitution, arguing that the States could “interpose” themselves to protect their citizens from unconstitutional national laws.
Much of the discord in the nation today has its roots in the vital difference between a conservative attachment to traditional values and a liberal ideology that would impose a One World Government on our sovereign nation.
The great philosopher of American conservatism, Russell Kirk, wrote “True conservatism is the antithesis of ideology. It is the negation of ideology. For conservative is grounded in the past. Its principles are derived from the Constitution, experience, history, tradition, custom, and the wisdom of those who have gone before us—‘the best that has been thought and said.’ It does not purport to know the future. It is about preserving the true, the good, the beautiful. Conservatism views all ideologies with skepticism, and the more zealous and fanatic with hostility.”
A case in point is the way that State after State has lined up to oppose through the courts and by individual legal action the imposition of the president’s healthcare legislation, passed on strict party lines by the Democrat Party and only after the most vile revelations of bribery and backroom deals. It is a bill whose content Speaker Pelosi said Americans should supinely consider only after it was passed.
There has been a rapidly growing awareness and rejection of the assertion that the federal government can “own” General Motors or that the government should be in the business of buying and selling mortgages.
Pending financial reform legislation would permit the federal take over any company to install its own board of directors and thus control the economy. The failure to exercise existing regulation of the financial sector hardly calls for more regulation. It calls for stronger enforcement of existing laws.
The increasing awareness and rejection of the false “theory of global warming” is being rejected on the basis of the widely perceived cooling of the earth during this decade and the wild projections of warming 25, 50, a hundred or more years into the unknown future. More and more Americans now know it is based on feeble and deliberately false “computer models”.
That is why the Cap-and-Trade bill, a huge tax on energy use, awaiting action in the Senate, even if imposed in the same fashion as the healthcare bill, will be rejected by the States. There is no need to regulate carbon dioxide, a natural gas that has nothing to do with “warming”, but a rogue government agency, the Environmental Protection Agency, is set to assert this falsehood through massive regulation that will destroy the nation’s economic base.
With increasing pace, the States are demanding that the Second Amendment protecting the right to own and bear arms be respected and asserting their right to pass laws permitting gun ownership, including the right to carry concealed arms for self defense. States that have enacted such laws have seen a dramatic decrease in crime.
The assertion of unconstitutional federal powers lies at the heart of the State’s rejection of these efforts. Unfunded federal mandates are bankrupting the States and they want an end to them. The rapacious taking of State lands is crippling theirs and the nation’s ability to access our natural resources.
A growing spectrum of federal laws intruding upon the sovereignty of individual States is being challenged and this is a good thing. We should all take heart from these challenges as well as the spontaneous occurrence of the Tea Party movement that is a dramatic demonstration that the spirit of individual liberty and of States rights is alive and well in America.
A new generation of Americans is learning that the Constitution was designed to ensure a small and limited federal government and that the States, like the Union, are individual republics.
The battle has been joined.
Poll Claims 60% of Americans Believe Domestic Terrorists Will Stage Attack Within a Year |
Kurt Nimmo - Infowars.com
It looks like the government and corporate media campaign to demonize patriot groups and characterize them as domestic terrorists is paying off.
Poll claims Americans believe absurd and FBI operative riddled Hutaree posed a terrorist threat.
On April 12, the UPI posted the results of a poll conducted by Angus Reid Public Opinion. The survey reports that a “strong majority” of Americans believe “American-on-American terrorism is likely in the next year.” 58 percent of 1,005 people surveyed believe a terrorist attack on U.S. soil, carried out by Americans, is “very likely” or “moderately likely” to happen.
More than half of those polled also consider the Hutaree and Guardians of the Free Republics to be “terrorists” while 8 percent think of them as “freedom fighters.”
National Public Radio reported yesterday that the FBI had an explosives expert infiltrate the Hutaree. Andrew Arena, the FBI’s special agent in charge in Detroit, told NPR “the officer offered to take over that part of the group’s operation. That meant the FBI would now have some modicum of control over what it saw as the Hutarees’ most dangerous asset: explosives.”
The FBI operation in Michigan is reminiscent of an earlier operation in New York.
Tape recordings of telephone conversations between FBI informant Emad Salem and his FBI contacts reveal government complicity in the February 26, 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City in which six people were killed and more than a thousand were injured.
“Did the FBI do the bombing, utilizing informant Salem as an ‘agent provocateur’ or did it fail to prevent an independent Salem and his associates from doing it?” Paul DeRienzo, Frank Morales and Chris Flash wrote for The Shadow newspaper in late 1994. “The taped conversations obtained by The Shadow seem to indicate the former.”
The fear generated in response to non-threatening letters sent to U.S. governors by the Guardians of the Free Republics was created by the establishment media in order to increase hysteria in response to patriot and constitutional groups the government incessantly conflates with militia groups that are minuscule in number.
The Guardians of the Free Republics is a non-violent group that follows the lead of Mandela, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King. In response to a demand state governors step down, the FBI warned police around the country that the “threat” could provoke violence by other groups.
According to The Detroit News, the government is currently preparing for a “surge” in domestic terrorism. “We understand the threat, what a serious threat it is, and the U.S. government is paying close attention to it,” Michigan Rep. Candice Miller told the News. “We’ve had a lot of discussion about it in committee meetings, and in classified (Homeland Security) meetings as well.”
A March 10 report by the Washington D.C.-based Center for Strategic and International Studies warned that the U.S. government needs to focus its efforts on “fighting terror at home.”
John Laughland notes that the Center for Strategic and International Studies serves as a propaganda outfit for the establishment.
“Facing comparatively few restrictions, U.S. legal residents and citizens can travel abroad, connect with terrorist groups to gain explosives or weapons training, and return here to plan and execute attacks,” the report claims.
The innuendo is obvious – militias and other “extremists” will team up with al-Qaeda abroad and engage in domestic terrorism at home.
In June, 2009, Fox News disinfo operative Glenn Beck made the outlandish and entirely fictional claim that militias will team up with Muslim terrorists and attack the United States. A video featuring Abdullah al-Nafisi, said to be an al-Qaeda recruiter, was “authenticated” by U.S. counter-terrorism officials. Moreover, Sean Smith, a spokesman for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, said the U.S. had taken the Abdullah al-Nafisi “recruitment” video seriously.
Last week Newsweek attempted to fan the flames of manufactured hysteria when it reported that two members of the Hutaree served in the military. “The particular concern raised by military members among extremist groups is that former service members, including disgruntled veterans from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, may be helping to train extremists in firearms and military tactics,” Michael Isikoff wrote on April 9. Isikoff cites Mark Potok and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The Department of Homeland Security’s exposed report on “rightwing extremism” makes the claim returning veterans will join white supremacist militias and engage in violence.
The SPLC and the Anti-Defamation League work hand-in-hand with the Department of Homeland Security to demonize patriot and constitutionalist organizations. SPLC’s Mark Potok appears on corporate media networks almost daily peddling his organization’s hysterical rantings and fairy tales about impending violence and mayhem that will be perpetuated by patriot groups and individuals.
Also on April 9, Newsweek characterized Stewart Rhodes’ Oath Keepers as a hate speech and extremist organization. The “feds and local authorities will be watching closely on April 19, when the Oath Keepers mark their first anniversary and join a Second Amendment March on Washington to celebrate the right to bear arms,” write Evan Thomas and Eve Conant. The article is entitled “A Surge of Hate.”
In short, the feds will put the Oath Keepers and others under surveillance.
The Oath Keepers is a non-violent organization that encourages active military, veterans, and law enforcement to reaffirm the oath they have taken to the Constitution.
In late March, instead of airing an interview with Alex Jones (who is a favored target of the SPLC and Soros-linked bloggers), CNN ran a segment allowing Potok to hitch the FBI infiltrated Hutaree to the patriot movement. John Avlon referred to patriots as “hateriots” and tried to link constitutional activists to the murder of police officers in Pittsburgh by a deranged white supremacist.
The government and the corporate media are working overtime to conflate the myth of violent and racist militias not only to the patriot movement but the independent Tea Party movement as well. The corporate media invariably characterizes the Tea Party movement as backward, nativist, and above all racist.
If we can believe the results of the Angus Reid Public Opinion poll – and corporate media polls should always be suspect — this concerted propaganda has paid off in spades.
The establishment has set the stage for a false flag terror attack that will be attributed to “extremists,” possibly in conjunction with al-Qaeda or another CIA-created terror group.
Obama’s shrill
warning about terrorists using a nuclear weapon is a milestone in the
effort to impose martial law and a police state in the United States. It
dovetails perfectly with the orchestrated campaign to demonize a growing
number of Americans who are alarmed and outraged by a voracious and predatory
federal government determined to destroy the Constitution and merge the
United States into an authoritarian world government run by the bankers
and transnational corporations.
Raw Exercise of Power: Cops Beat Student for No Reason |

The Associated Press video below carries the following headline: “Video Allegedly Shows Md. Police Beating Student.”
There is nothing “allegedly” about it. Cops from Prince Georges County, Maryland, clearly attack the student after a basketball game. He is slammed against a wall and beaten with batons for no reason whatsoever. He did not threaten the police. The student made the mistake of being on the street and in close proximity of the cops. No other crime was required for the cops to beat him.
The police initially charged the student with assaulting the police
but later dropped the charge. Check out the video. Does it look like the
student attacked the police? Or are the cops neanderthal thugs who get
off on exercising their arbitrary authority and beating people senseless?
