http://www.asylum.com/2010/05/19/preppers-a-growing-network-preparing-for-world-destruction
If the proverbial you-know-what hit the global
fan, would you be prepared? The answer to that question is most likely
a big, fat no.
After all, it's hard to develop life skills (e.g., growing/storing your
own food, filtering water) while playing myriad video
games or scrounging the Internet for funny
videos to post on Facebook.
Turns out, though, that while you may not be concerned about
mass chaos and world destruction, a growing number of people are.
Meet the Preppers
Asylum readers, there is a posse of self-sufficient men and women out
there who make it their goal to be prepared when disaster strikes. They
call themselves "preppers."
From natural catastrophes to economic meltdowns to nuclear blowouts,
the preppers' collective goal is quite simple: to carry on as usual, even
when catastrophe strikes. Think backyard fallout shelters of the 1950s
or Y2K shenanigans -- only circa 2010.
The whole prepper movement may seem pretty zany. So zany, in fact, that
you'd think only a miniscule amount of people would actually be partaking
in it. Wrong.
Over recent years, a huge community of preppers has developed. Perform
a simple Google search and you'll turn up plenty of prepper-related stuff,
including the Web television portal Prepper
TV, survival
blogs, podcasts (such as DoctorPrepper
and PrepperPodcast),
and forums
that cover everything from a woman's
perspective to recycling to how to handle
dead bodies.
There's even a rash of YouTube videos offering tutorials on such topics
as how to construct
your own nuclear bomb shelter, what firearms
you should own, and how to earthquake-proof
your stored food. |

The Potential for Disaster
"People are waking up to the fact that they cannot always rely on outside
sources for their personal safety and survival," Tom Martin, CEO of the
American
Preppers Network, tells Asylum.
"A 'sh** hit the fan' scenario happens to just about everyone sometime
in their life," he says. "Preparing and having a 'prepper' mindset will
lessen the impact of whatever disaster it may be that you might experience
in your life."
Fair enough. But is it really necessary to spend hundreds of dollars
on packaged emergency food -- like this $999,
one-year supply of freeze-dried "food" sold at Costco? According to
customers who have purchased this product and others like it, it's completely
worth all your hard-earned dinero.
"No one can predict the future, but our economy sure isn't what it used
to be," explains Stephen Bedford (pictured, above). His wife runs the website
The
Survival Mom, and both are committed preppers. "We can't afford to
live like it's still 2005."
Don't Make an "Unwise Decision"
"Some things like food, we use all the time and then replace them,
because it is the lifestyle we choose," Gary Hartley, who runs the United
States Prepper Networks, tells Asylum. "I would be extremely happy
if some of my preps never got used. I'd pass them on to my son and be even
happier if he never had to use them."
"Remember this," he continued. "It is better to have it and not need
it than to need it and not have it. Not prepping is an unwise decision."
The Prepper Mindset
As with any group, the prepper clan is made up a variety of mindsets.
While some opt to stock up on pre-packaged products, others, like Martin,
invest their time and money other ways.
"I spend more time learning skills, tips and ideas than I do money on
equipment," he tells Asylum. "Survival is an instinct; preparedness is
not. Preparedness has to be learned."
Hartley agrees. "In my opinion, it is more about taking personal responsibility
for yourself and your family and being more self-reliant and less dependent
on outside sources in an emergency," he tells us.
And there you have it. Preppers get off on learning life skills, storing
away massive amounts of long-lasting food, and talking about the end of
the world as we know it.
It all begs this question, loyal readers: To prep or not to prep?
Children as young as four could be fingerprinted to
take out books from a school library |

Critics labelled the plans 'appalling' and a waste of
resources. Photo: GETTY IMAGES |
Students in Manchester are having their thumbprints
digitally transformed into electronic codes, which can then be recognised
by a computer program.
Under the scheme, pupils swipe a bar code inside
the book they want borrow then press their thumb on to a scanner to authorise
the loan. Books are returned in the same way.
The scheme is being trialled on junior classes at Higher Lane Primary
in Whitefield, Bury, Greater Manchester.
Officials confirmed it is due to be extended to all pupils at the school,
one of the areas largest primary schools, with 453 pupils aged four to
11.
School authorities defended the scheme on Thursday, and moved to reassure
parents that the voluntary system, is heavily encrypted or coded and that
no images of fingerprints would be stored. |
But critics said they were “appalled” at the system,
developed by Microsoft which is also being trialled in other parts of the
country.
“This is quite clearly appalling,” said Phil Booth, national coordinator
of NO2ID, a privacy campaign group.
“For such a trivial issue as taking out of library books the taking
of fingerprints is way over the top and wrong.
“It conditions children to hand over sensitive personal information.”
He added: “The money for such a system could be spent on actual school
resources. How about some more books for the library instead?
“This needs to be rolled back or stopped. I would argue there is no
justification for such a scheme.
But Lesley Isherwood, the school headmaster, defended the system, saying
it was introduced as a more efficient way of books being borrowed from
the recently renovated library.
She confirmed it would be extended to all pupils, adding that parents
would be given the choice to opt in or out.
"We have researched this scheme thoroughly. It is a biometric recognition
system and no image of a fingerprint is ever stored. It is a voluntary
system,” she said.
"The thumbprint creates a mathematical template. All parents have been
written to and we have told them what the system is all about. From the
responses we have had there has been overwhelming support."
She added: "We hold a lot of information about children because we are
a school. This is no different."
All pupils' details are erased when they leave school.
It comes after schemes to fingerprint children as part of payment for
their school dinners was introduced around the country.
Private Corporation Building Detention Camps Across
America |

Paul Joseph Watson - Prison Planet.com
The shadowy design firm that was behind the infamous Hardin Montana
jail is pushing to build detention camps across America, with the latest
proposal centering around a fifty acre, five hundred bed facility in Italy,
Texas, part of a program that many Americans fear is based around a plan
to intern political dissidents in the event of a national emergency.
Private prison development firm Corplan Corrections, headed up by an
individual called James Parkey, is working with underwriter Municipal Capitol
Markets Group, along with prison “consultant” Richard Reyes from Innovative
Government Strategies, an outfit that works with state and local government,
to oversee multiple projects concentrated in different states including
Arizona and Texas.
Their latest project is focused around constructing a “detention center
for illegal immigrants” based in Italy, Texas. The
Italy City Council heard Parkey’s proposals last week to build a “gorilla
proof facility with a fence,” that would be used as a “processing center”. |
|
The company was also
behind the infamous internment facility in Hardin Montana, which attracted
national media attention when responsibility for its security was handed
to a mysterious paramilitary organization called American Police Force,
which was fronted by career criminal and a convicted fraudster Michael
Hilton, who operated under no less than 17 different aliases.
The group was also
behind controversial plans to build a detention facility on Tohono
O’odham Nation land near Sahuarita, Arizona.
Parkey also attempted
to convince the Benson City Council to build a detention camp in that
part of Arizona earlier this month.
Parkey’s efforts to oversee three separate jail deals with Texas counties
failed following insufficient funds being made available to run the facilities,
and in 2005, “Three Texas county commissioners were convicted on bribery
charges in connection to one of those Parkey-led projects,” reports
TPM.
The only stumbling block that Parkey has repeatedly run into when trying
to convince local authorities to accept his proposals to build the camps
is the lack of prisoners to fill them . Indeed, critics
have accused him of fleecing desperate small communities with promises
of jobs and economic development that never come to fruition, leaving empty
jails and financial black holes.
But should the federal government and Homeland Security activate its
“ENDGAME” scenario in response to a declared national emergency, illegal
aliens, as well as “potential terrorists” will be rounded up and imprisoned
in detention camps that the Feds themselves, not just private companies,
have been building over the course of the last decade.
Back
in January 2006, we reported on how Homeland Security had awarded Halliburton
subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root a $385 million dollar contract to construct
detention and processing facilities in the event of a national emergency.
The language of the preamble to the agreement veils the program with
talk of temporary migrant holding centers, as is the case with the Corplan
proposals, but it is made clear that the camps will also be used “as the
development of a plan to react to a national emergency.”
The stated purpose of the detention camps, to hold illegal aliens, is
routinely cited, yet continuity of government plans clearly indicate that
the facilities will have a dual purpose – to hold political dissidents
and American citizens in the event of a declaration of martial law.
Veteran author Peter Dale Scott characterized the Halliburton contract
as another step towards martial law. As Scott points out, the camps will
also be used to “support the rapid development of new programs,” which
more specifically relates to a longer term Homeland Security operation
entitled ENDGAME, which sets its goal as the removal of not only illegal
aliens but also “potential terrorists”.
As we have illustrated, in documents like the MIAC
report and a plethora of others, federal authorities define American
citizens who are even mildly political, own guns, or support third party
candidates as potential terrorists.
“The contract calls for a response to “an emergency influx of immigrants,
or to support the rapid development of new programs” in the event of other
emergencies, such as “a natural disaster.” “New programs” is of course
a term with no precise limitation. So, in the current administration, is
ENDGAME’s goal of removing “potential terrorists,” writes
Scott, adding that former
Attorney General John Ashcroft called for the construction of internment
camps for American citizens deemed to be “enemy combatants”.
Other agencies
of the federal government have also been busy trying to build detention
camps over the course of the last decade. In 2002, FEMA sought bids
from major real estate and engineering firms to construct giant internment
facilities in the case of a chemical, biological or nuclear attack or a
natural disaster.
In February 2003, Okanogan
County Commissioner Dave Schulz went public with his contention that
his county was set to be a location for one of the camps.
Alex Jones has attended numerous military urban warfare training drills
across the US where role players were used to simulate arresting American
citizens and taking them to internment camps.
Whether these detention camps will be bossed by private paramilitary
security forces, agents of the federal government, or a combination of
the two is largely immaterial. What should concern all Americans is the
fact that the camps are being constructed at all and that under new legal
arguments being re-applied by President Obama, Americans can be abducted
and held without trial in such facilities under the enemy combatant designation.
Toronto Police Purchased 4 "Sound Cannons" For G20 |

The near
$1 billion price tag for the upcoming G8 and G20 summits may have your
head spinning, but crowd control devices acquired by Toronto Police will
have you covering your ears.
According to a report
in the Toronto Star, authorities purchased four long range acoustic
devices, or L-RADs, also known as sound cannons, for the upcoming G20 summit
June 26th and 27th.
Police said the devices will likely be used as communication devices.
The L-RADs also double as loud speakers.
Authorities in Pittsburgh were criticized for their use of sound cannons
during the G20 summit last September when they unleashed an assault of
piercing beeps before throwing tear gas and stun grenades to disperse a
crowd marching toward the summit venue. It was the first time sound
cannons had been used in public.
The truck-mounted model can emit an ear-splitting 143 decibels, far
above the pain threshold of 110 to 120dB.
Some worry that if misued L-RADs could violate protesters’ rights.
The Star reports three of the four L-RADs purchased by Toronto Police
are handheld models capable of emitting sound heard up to 600 metres away
with a volume up to 135dB.
Agenda 21 Alert re Science and Sewage |

Cassandra Anderson - Infowars.com
Agenda 21 Sustainable Development is the overarching blueprint for depopulation
and total control, using the environment as the excuse for that control.
The 3 major tools that are used are :
— Global warming
— Water Shortages
— Endangered Species Act
|
|
|

|
California Delta smelt. |
|
|
In the case of the California Delta, man made water shortages have been
imposed on farmers by way of the ESA (Endangered Species Act) for the last
three years. Still, the Delta smelt populations have declined, despite
the restrictions. While the federal government refused to acknowledge that
the cause for the decline in smelt populations was due to up to 1 BILLION
gallons of partially treated sewage being flushed into the Delta per day,
they blamed the water pumps for the decline in smelt. Their disastrous
solution was to cut the water flow to farmers (who supply our country with
50% of its produce and nuts), thereby increasing the water levels in the
Delta to dilute pollution.
This didn’t work, smelt populations declined. In fact, California had
a wetter-than-usual winter and instead of allowing more water to be delivered
to farms, when the Shasta Reservoir filled to its safe capacity level,
the water was bled out into the Pacific Ocean. Due to mounting pressure
against the corrupt Department of Interior and obvious waste of water,
the federal pump’s water delivery was increased in some areas. Many allege
that this was also in part due to Central Valley Congressmen Dennis Cardoza
and Jim Costa voting in favor of Obamacare,
in trade for water to the farm areas. Ironically, the farms were promised
25% of the amount of water that had been contracted (40% is what is needed
to keep the farms viable). Further, the farmers were promised a delivery
up to 25%, but they were only guaranteed a 5% increase, thereby making
it difficult for them to get loans because the farmers, in turn, couldn’t
guarantee a harvest with only a 5% increase of water.
Last week, Patricia Gilbert, a professor of ecology and oceanography
from the University of Maryland, concluded that the smelt decline was a
result of high ammonium levels from urine and feces. Specifically, she
cited that the pollution was coming primarily from Sacramento, which doesn’t
fully process its sewage before it is dumped into the Delta. Dr. Patricia
Gilbert was then forced to resign from the National Academy of Sciences
panel. The Academy forced her resignation
because she went public with the information and they found it a conflict
of interest for her to review her own work. This is incredibly hypocritical,
given the profound conflicts of interest within the National Academy of
Sciences.
The National Academy of Sciences is a quasi- governmental agency, created
during Lincoln’s administration. The Academy advises the government in
scientific matters in order to set public policy and law. The NAS is also
a tax exempt private corporation (they do not publish their financial records
on their website, nor do they list their donors). NAS is subsidized by
federal grants and other “contributions” from undisclosed donors. New members
are elected by current members, thus ensuring cronyism, a depopulation
agenda and fraud.
For example, some of the prestigious members
of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) include Paul Ehrlich and John
Holdren, Gene Likens and Frederick Bormann, and Mario J. Molina.
John Holdren (Obama’s current science czar) and Paul Ehrlich are rabid
eugenicists-
supporters of selective breeding often through brutal means like genocide
and forced sterilization, who co-authored ‘Ecoscience’, which advocates
a “global police force” to enforce totalitarian measures of population
control that includes forced abortions and mass sterilization programs
conducted via the food and water supply, among other horrors. It is interesting
to note that Ehrlich’s work also appears in the United Nations Agenda 21
Global Biodiversity Assessment Report.
Gene Likens, along with Frederick Bormann, invented acid rain. In 1980,
the NAS predicted acid rain would double the number of acid-dead lakes
within 10 years, so a $600 million dollar study
by the US government, that spanned 10 years, discredited Liken’s theory.
Dr. Ed Krug found that acidity in the Adirondack lakes was not caused by
coal processing in Pennsylvania (as theorized by Likens), but by local
plants and soil. Because of the enthusiasm of policy makers this scientific
scandal was hidden until 60 Minutes got hold of it and it became widely
publicized. After awhile, people forgot about Liken’s and Bormann’s science
fraud and acid rain regulations were written into the federal Clean Air
Act. The EPA trashed Dr. Ed Krug’s career thereafter.(5)
Mario J. Molina,
a professor at MIT, won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry for creating alarmism
over the ozone hole in the Antarctic, for which he blamed CFCs (chlorofluorocarbon
gases from refrigerants and aerosol products like hairspray). Freon refrigerants
were vilified as a major cause of the Arctic
ozone depletion. It later came to light that ozone over the Arctic
cyclically thins for a brief period of time, and there is no hole. However,
corporate controlled policy makers rushed to ban freon because the DuPont
patent was expiring on it, and DuPont would lose the monopoly because other
companies could manufacture freon cheaply. DuPont did own a patent on an
alternative product that was more expensive and more difficult to produce,
so freon was banned.
There is an obvious lack of easily accessible information about who
funds the National Academy of Sciences in addition to the US federal government;
clearly, the ruling elite monopoly owners have an overwhelming amount of
‘influence’. There is evidence of financial ties to the Rockefeller
Foundation and Ford
Foundation, who are cohorts in depopulation of the planet, as evidenced
by the support of Rockefeller’s Population
Council.
The lawsuit to save the California Delta smelt and to close down the
water pumps, based on the corrupt Endangered Species Act, was brought by
the Natural Resources Defense Council, and is funded by the Ford Foundation
(the annual budget is $87 million dollars). The California Delta smelt
debacle is a model of how the globalists plan to create water shortages
via the Endangered Species Act in order to pursue the objectives of Agenda
21 (depopulation and control). Therefore, science should be scrutinized.
Valid science is independent and does not have a political or economic
agenda attached to it.
Valid science considers ALL data, as opposed to ignoring that which
does not fit in its paradigm.
Valid science has reproducible results.
Valid science freely provides information to the public without the
necessity of the Freedom of Information Act.
The good news: Federal Judge Oliver Wanger ruled on 5/25/2010 that the
biological opinion, provided by the National Marine Fisheries Services,
a sub agency of the Department of Interior, failed to consider the impact
that turning off the federal pump (owned by the Department of Interior)
had on humans. Therefore, he allowed the pump to be reactivated at 40%-
enough to irrigate farms, until June 15th and then the case will be revisited.
It is important to remember that the Department of Interior also determines
which species are ‘endangered’.
While there are many good scientists out there, when public policy is
concerned, or an economic agenda is at stake, we can see what happens to
them as evidenced by Dr. Ed Krug and Dr. Patricia Gilbert. The NAS wanted
to wait until Fall 2011 to issue their recommendation on the Delta issue,
but now their advice is becoming irrelevant. In fact, this is a perfect
model of how we can rid ourselves of tyranny. Because Dr. Patricia
Gilbert took her results public, which clearly pointed the finger at the
sewage issue, a condition that can be easily remedied, the Academy’s scientific
edict may no longer matter. We can win against environmental tyranny
through exposure- it worked with ‘Climategate’, and it is unfolding in
the Delta right now. Massive exposure of fraudulent science is an
effective way to end Agenda 21; when respect for authority (of science)
disappears, people stop following corrupt leaders.
