be presented in a mix of something good, or good for you.

[Admittedly, technology is a good thing. The only problem is when the same technology is used for nefarious purposes. The deception is when the nefarious purposes are offered as something more benign than intended or when good uses are turned to bad uses. The technology in this article is one of those of which humans may prove to be controlled by it. -- Tribble]
A new technology, soon to be tested in Chicago, plugs the human brain right into a desktop computer. Its remarkable goal: to enable quadriplegics to use it just by thinking, allowing them to do things like surf the Web, write e-mails, play video games and operate TV remotes and telephones, all without moving a muscle.
"We can take someone's thought and put it on a screen," said Tim Surgenor, chief executive of Cyberkinetics Neurotechnology Systems, manufacturer of the device, which is called BrainGate Neural Interface System.
So far, BrainGate has been tested on one person -- Boston area quadriplegic Matt Nagle, who now can move a cursor and play the simple video game Pong.
Damage blocks signals
The federal Food and Drug Administration is allowing Cyberkinetics initially to test BrainGate on four people besides Nagle, all of them quadriplegic. Three centers, including the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, are recruiting volunteers. Dr. David Chen, a Rehab Institute researcher, hopes to select a volunteer within a month. A surgeon will drill a hole in the patient's head and implant a chip on the surface of the part of the brain involved in moving arms and hands.
The chip, about the size of a baby aspirin, contains 100 electrode sensors, each thinner than a human hair. The sensors detect tiny electrical signals generated when a user imagines, for example, that he's moving the cursor, its manufacturer says.
Though paralyzed, a quadriplegic still has the ability to generate such signals -- they just don't get past the damaged portion of the spinal cord. With BrainGate, the signals instead travel through a wire that comes out of the skull and connects to a computer, Cybernetics says.
BrainGate uses technology similar to cochlear implants that help deaf people hear and deep-brain simulators that treat Parkinson's disease. Those devices cost $15,000 to $25,000. BrainGate will be "at least that expensive, and perhaps more," Surgenor said.
Volunteers praised
Nagle, the first volunteer, was paralyzed in a knife attack 3-1/2 years ago. The other day, he was able to control a robotic arm.
"I was using my thoughts," he said in an interview with National Public Radio. "When I wanted it to go left, it would go left, and, when I wanted it to go right, it would go right."
BrainGate sensors will remain in each volunteer for 13 months before being removed. Volunteers face surgical risks such as infections and brain damage, and it's yet to be shown that the first version of BrainGate will provide any practical benefit.
"We're doing it in the safest and best way we know how," Surgenor said. "These people who participate deserve a lot of credit. They're pioneers."
Nagle told NPR why he volunteered: "I'm sitting here at home seven days a week, not doing anything. This doctor sent it to me, and I took it."
About 11,000 people in the United States suffer spinal cord injuries each year, and about 4,000 wind up paralyzed from the neck down.
Technology already exists for quadriplegics to operate wheelchairs, computers and some other devices by, for example, sipping or puffing on a straw or tapping a plate with their heads. But such systems are slow, Chen said.
The first generation of BrainGate, it's hoped, will enable a user to move a cursor in all four directions and operate a mouse. If the user wanted to type the letter A, for example, he'd move the cursor over a keyboard displayed on the screen, then click on the A.
Could move arms, hands
Future versions of BrainGate could be faster, said Nicholas Hatsopoulos, a University of Chicago neuroscientist and a Cyberkinetics founder. The user would need only to think of the letter A, and the letter would appear on the screen.
Farther in the future, BrainGate perhaps could be connected to a user's arms and hands. When the user imagines he is raising an arm, electrical signals would be sent to contract the necessary muscles, Hatsopoulos said.
Surgenor hopes to win FDA approval by 2007 to market BrainGate.

The American legal system has been corrupted almost beyond recognition,
Judge Edith Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, told
the Federalist Society of Harvard Law School on February 28.
She said that the question of what is morally right is routinely sacrificed to what is politically expedient. The change has come because legal philosophy has descended to nihilism. Judge Edith H. Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
talks to members of Harvard Law School's Fed-eralist Society. Jones said
that the question of what is mor-ally right is routinely sacrificed to
what is politically expedient.
|
"The integrity of law, its religious roots, its transcendent quality are disappearing. I saw the movie 'Chicago' with Richard Gere the other day. That's the way the public thinks about lawyers," she told the students.
"The first 100 years of American lawyers were trained on Blackstone, who wrote that: 'The law of nature . dictated by God himself . is binding . in all counties and at all times; no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all force and all their authority . from this original.' The Framers created a government of limited power with this understanding of the rule of law - that it was dependent on transcendent religious obligation," said Jones.
She said that the business about all of the Founding Fathers being deists is "just wrong," or "way overblown." She says they believed in "faith and reason," and this did not lead to intolerance.
"This is not a prescription for intolerance or narrow sectarianism," she continued, "for unalienable rights were given by God to all our fellow citizens. Having lost sight of the moral and religious foundations of the rule of law, we are vulnerable to the destruction of our freedom, our equality before the law and our self-respect. It is my fervent hope that this new century will experience a revival of the original understanding of the rule of law and its roots.
"The answer is a recovery of moral principle, the sine qua non of an orderly society. Post 9/11, many events have been clarified. It is hard to remain a moral relativist when your own people are being killed."
According to the judge, the first contemporary threat to the rule of law comes from within the legal system itself.
Alexis de Tocqueville, author of Democracy in America and one of the first writers to observe the United States from the outside looking-in, "described lawyers as a natural aristocracy in America," Jones told the students. "The intellectual basis of their profession and the study of law based on venerable precedents bred in them habits of order and a taste for formalities and predictability." As Tocqueville saw it, "These qualities enabled attorneys to stand apart from the passions of the majority. Lawyers were respected by the citizens and able to guide them and moderate the public's whims. Lawyers were essential to tempering the potential tyranny of the majority.
"Some lawyers may still perceive our profession in this flattering light, but to judge from polls and the tenor of lawyer jokes, I doubt the public shares Tocqueville's view anymore, and it is hard for us to do so.
"The legal aristocracy have shed their professional independence for the temptations and materialism associated with becoming businessmen. Because law has become a self-avowed business, pressure mounts to give clients the advice they want to hear, to pander to the clients' goal through deft manipulation of the law. . While the business mentality produces certain benefits, like occasional competition to charge clients lower fees, other adverse effects include advertising and shameless self-promotion. The legal system has also been wounded by lawyers who themselves no longer respect the rule of law,"
The judge quoted Kenneth Starr as saying, "It is decidedly unchristian to win at any cost," and added that most lawyers agree with him.
However, "An increasingly visible and vocal number apparently believe that the strategic use of anger and incivility will achieve their aims. Others seem uninhibited about making misstatements to the court or their opponents or destroying or falsifying evidence," she claimed. "When lawyers cannot be trusted to observe the fair processes essential to maintaining the rule of law, how can we expect the public to respect the process?"
Lawsuits Do Not Bring 'Social Justice'
Another pernicious development within the legal system is the misuse of lawsuits, according to her.
"We see lawsuits wielded as weapons of revenge," she says. "Lawsuits are brought that ultimately line the pockets of lawyers rather than their clients. . The lawsuit is not the best way to achieve social justice, and to think it is, is a seriously flawed hypothesis. There are better ways to achieve social goals than by going into court."
Jones said that employment litigation is a particularly fertile field for this kind of abuse.
"Seldom are employment discrimination suits in our court supported by direct evidence of race or sex-based animosity. Instead, the courts are asked to revisit petty interoffice disputes and to infer invidious motives from trivial comments or work-performance criticism. Recrimination, second-guessing and suspicion plague the workplace when tenuous discrimination suits are filed . creating an atmosphere in which many corporate defendants are forced into costly settlements because they simply cannot afford to vindicate their positions.
"While the historical purpose of the common law was to compensate for individual injuries, this new litigation instead purports to achieve redistributive social justice. Scratch the surface of the attorneys' self-serving press releases, however, and one finds how enormously profitable social redistribution is for those lawyers who call themselves 'agents of change.'"
Jones wonders, "What social goal is achieved by transferring millions of dollars to the lawyers, while their clients obtain coupons or token rebates."
The judge quoted George Washington who asked in his Farewell Address, "Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths . in courts of justice?"
Similarly, asked Jones, how can a system founded on law survive if the administrators of the law daily display their contempt for it?
"Lawyers' private morality has definite public consequences," she said. "Their misbehavior feeds on itself, encouraging disrespect and debasement of the rule of law as the public become encouraged to press their own advantage in a system they perceive as manipulatable."
The second threat to the rule of law comes from government, which is encumbered with agencies that have made the law so complicated that it is difficult to decipher and often contradicts itself.
"Agencies have an inherent tendency to expand their mandate," says Jones. "At the same time, their decision-making often becomes parochial and short-sighted. They may be captured by the entities that are ostensibly being regulated, or they may pursue agency self-interest at the expense of the public welfare. Citizens left at the mercy of selective and unpredictable agency action have little recourse."
Jones recommends three books by Philip Howard: The Death of Common Sense, The Collapse of the Common Good and The Lost Art of Drawing the Line, which further delineate this problem.
The third and most comprehensive threat to the rule of law arises from contemporary legal philosophy.
"Throughout my professional life, American legal education has been ruled by theories like positivism, the residue of legal realism, critical legal studies, post-modernism and other philosophical fashions," said Jones. "Each of these theories has a lot to say about the 'is' of law, but none of them addresses the 'ought,' the moral foundation or direction of law."
Jones quoted Roger C. Cramton, a law professor at Cornell University, who wrote in the 1970s that "the ordinary religion of the law school classroom" is "a moral relativism tending toward nihilism, a pragmatism tending toward an amoral instrumentalism, a realism tending toward cynicism, an individualism tending toward atomism, and a faith in reason and democratic processes tending toward mere credulity and idolatry."
No 'Great Awakening' In Law School Classrooms
The judge said ruefully, "There has been no Great Awakening in the law school classroom since those words were written." She maintained that now it is even worse because faith and democratic processes are breaking down.
"The problem with legal philosophy today is that it reflects all too well the broader post-Enlightenment problem of philosophy," Jones said. She quoted Ernest Fortin, who wrote in Crisis magazine: "The whole of modern thought . has been a series of heroic attempts to reconstruct a world of human meaning and value on the basis of . our purely mechanistic understanding of the universe."
Jones said that all of these threats to the rule of law have a common thread running through them, and she quoted Professor Harold Berman to identify it: "The traditional Western beliefs in the structural integrity of law, its ongoingness, its religious roots, its transcendent qualities, are disappearing not only from the minds of law teachers and law students but also from the consciousness of the vast majority of citizens, the people as a whole; and more than that, they are disappearing from the law itself. The law itself is becoming more fragmented, more subjective, geared more to expediency and less to morality. . The historical soil of the Western legal tradition is being washed away . and the tradition itself is threatened with collapse."
Judge Jones concluded with another thought from George Washington: "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness - these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens."
Upon taking questions from students, Judge Jones recommended Michael Novak's book, On Two Wings: Humble Faith and Common Sense.
"Natural law is not a prescriptive way to solve problems," Jones said. "It is a way to look at life starting with the Ten Commandments."
Natural law provides "a framework for government that permits human freedom," Jones said. "If you take that away, what are you left with? Bodily senses? The will of the majority? The communist view? What is it - 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need?' I don't even remember it, thank the Lord," she said to the amusement of the students.
"I am an unabashed patriot - I think the United States is the healthiest society in the world at this point in time," Jones said, although she did concede that there were other ways to accommodate the rule of law, such as constitutional monarchy.
"Our legal system is way out of kilter," she said. "The tort litigating system is wreaking havoc. Look at any trials that have been conducted on TV. These lawyers are willing to say anything."
Potential Nominee to Supreme Court
Judge Edith Jones has been mentioned as a potential nominee to the Supreme Court in the Bush administration, but does not relish the idea.
"Have you looked at what people have to go through who are nominated for federal appointments? They have to answer questions like, 'Did you pay your nanny taxes?' 'Is your yard man illegal?'
"In those circumstances, who is going to go out to be a federal judge?"
Judge Edith H. Jones has a B.A. from Cornell University and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. She was appointed to the Fifth Circuit by President Ronald Reagan in 1985. Her office is in the U.S. Courthouse in Houston.
The Federalist Society was founded in 1982 when a group of law students from Harvard, Stanford, the University of Chicago and Yale organized a symposium on federalism at Yale Law School. These students were unhappy with the academic climate on their campuses for some of the reasons outlined by Judge Jones. The Federalist Society was created to be a forum for a wider range of legal viewpoints than they were hearing in the course of their studies.
From the four schools mentioned above, the Society has grown to include over 150 law school chapters. The Harvard chapter, with over 250 members, is one of the nation's largest and most active. They seek to contribute to civilized dialogue at the Law School by providing a libertarian and conservative voice on campus and by sponsoring speeches and debates on a wide range of legal and policy issues.
The Federalist Society consists of libertarians and conservatives interested
in the current state of the legal profession. It is founded on three principles:
1) the state exists to preserve freedom, 2) the separation of governmental
powers is central to our Constitution and 3) it is emphatically the province
and duty of the judiciary to state what the law is, not what it should
be.

It's September and we are supposed to be into the worst stock market month of the year. Too bad that as much as September might at times be a nasty month it is not something that one can take to the bank each year. Here we are half way through the month and the S&P 500 is up 2%, the NASDAQ is up 4%, the Dow Jones Industrials is up 1.4% and the TSX Composite is up 1.3%.
Despite a background that should be anything but friendly to markets they have been rising. Given the low volume that has prevailed, however, the market has been more characteristic of a short covering squeeze then it has been more fundamentally driven. But that has not stopped numerous pundits advising us that the economy is booming and that the technical action is positive because the advance decline is making new highs. From the economic side the biggest booster is Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan who once again came up with an upbeat message to Congress and stated that the economic expansion has "regained some traction".
We can only assume he was referring to the very buoyant retail sales number that was a robust 0.8% in July. Impressive, but if one checks the consumer credit growth in July it was up a huge $10.9 billion in the month. The market only expected $5 billion. A disappointing August number that was down 0.3% followed the good July number. Pushing the numbers down was very weak auto sales. Auto companies have it seems been maintaining 0% interest and numerous other give aways to entice customers into showrooms for eons. If auto sales are faltering then it does not bode well for retail sales going forward. The general trend of retail sales over the past few months has been down. Retail sales it seems need consumer's credit cards working overtime to produce the desired result. Not a healthy way to run a booming economy.
Or maybe he was referring to the better than expected non-farm payroll numbers released in early September that showed that 144 thousand new jobs were created in August, higher than expected. And the previous months were revised upward by double. The unemployment rate fell to 5.4% from 5.5% further buoying the market. But the economy has lost over one million jobs since 2000 and needs to grow a lot faster to not only recoup those lost jobs but to absorb as well population growth.
The fall in the unemployment rate happened because the number of those seeking work dropped. If you stop looking because you are discouraged or your unemployment benefits run out you are no longer counted. A number of analysts believe the real unemployment rate would be over 9% if discouraged workers and others were included. Further we have always been struck that despite a so-called booming economy some 1.3 million Americans fell below the poverty line in the past year. A healthy booming economy?
Or maybe Mr. Greenspan was happy about consumer prices staying rather benign. The most recent CPI numbers released on September 16 showed that the CPI and the core CPI rose a measly 0.1% in August. This was a 2.7% year over year increase. But inflation is being kept low because US manufacturing has been moving offshore to low cost countries (China, India etc.) for years while wages are being checked in the US. Wages have been flat for years and the average wage earner has actually being falling behind inflation. But despite the flat wages it does not seem to stop people from spending. In the most recent reporting period personal income was up only 0.1% for July while personal spending rose 0.8%. See above and the huge growth in consumer credit to help explain why spending exceeds income.
Finally Mr. Greenspan noted some improvement in housing starts and sales that seemed to bounce back in July after showing softness in June. Mr. Greenspan has always skirted that there might be a housing bubble. But it has been his own policies of low interest rates and the sense that the interest rates would be kept low that encouraged the huge growth in housing sales with many taking advantage of the depressed rates to refinance and use excess funds to spur consumer spending. Mortgage refinancing appears to be slowing and indeed may explain part of the reason why money supply (both M2 and M3) has fallen in recent months.
We have noted a number of articles recently on the housing market. The Economist has noted that never before have real house prices been rising so fast in so many countries (The sun also sets - September 11, 2004). In the past year alone in the US house prices are up 9.4% but that is just across the country and hot areas such as New York and California housing prices are rising even faster. The hottest housing market in the world over the past year has been Hong Kong where prices are up over 28% in the past year.
But accompanying the hot housing market has been the highest vacancy rate since 1965 reflecting a fast rising supply of housing and record ratios of house prices to rent and house prices to income (26% above the average for the past 25 years). Far from being healthy the housing markets are overvalued and even a modest increase in interest rates could put downward pressure on housing prices because so many of the mortgages are of the floating rate variety. Over the past year defaults have continued at a record pace and if the economy turned down the pace of defaults could quicken. Further the states battered by the hurricanes could have problem as inadequate insurance coupled with severe damage could leave banks holding a high inventory of damaged housing.?
So we have an economy that is anything but booming but inflation remains low and interest rates are benign with short rates still below the rate inflation and all of this is supposedly behind the market to rise for the third time this year. But so far the highs have generally been lower highs and each low has been lower than the previous one. The classic definition of a downtrend. It is a drifting lazy market that classically should end in a collapse. Sentiment has remained quite bullish with complacency as measured by the VIX volatility indicator recently making a new record low despite the fact that market was still well below the highs seen in January/February 2004. An interesting divergence of bullish sentiment running rampant even as prices make lower highs.
So is the bullish sentiment reflecting an overvalued market waiting for a sharp fall or is it a true belief that no matter what when we are finished the current correction and year we are about to embark on a tear? We doubt whether there is fund manager, institution or armchair stock market analyst anywhere that doesn't know that there has never been in the history of the modern stock markets a down year in a year ending in 5. The corrective sideways markets of 1934, 1944, 1984 and 1994 were classic corrective drifting markets followed by huge up moves in the subsequent year ending in 5. The key to all of those markets is that they never broke a swing low by any significant amount. Certainly sounds like this year.
If the cycle of the year ending in 5 comes true than it would seem to be a lay up that all one has to do is lay back go long on any pullback and wait for 2005 to start. You can't lose. Targets would be at least up to 1225/1250 S&P 500. In many other years ending in 5 the gains were even better than that. Is there a fly in the ointment anywhere or is it really that easy?
Many pundits would like us to believe that. We keep hearing from analysts that the markets will embark on a strong up move once the current correction is over and especially after the election. Here the candidate favoured by Wall Street, George Bush, will be re-elected or at least that is what the polls seem to lean towards despite the fact that it might be another nail biter as in the 2000 election. Kerry has failed to light any fires and the Bush campaign has kept the focus on a war fought thirty years ago with the questioning of Kerry's role. The counter attack to focus on Bush's hazy National Guard record during the same period has failed to ignite.
Meanwhile the current war that was premised on false pretences and has bogged down with a major counter insurgency that even the Pentagon is admitting might not be winnable gets scant attention. The cost of the war and increased security coupled with huge tax cuts is heavily responsible for the huge budget deficits but it also is receiving insufficient attention in the election. And as to the economy every positive number is seized by the Bush campaign as evidence that their policies are working even though what are supporting the numbers is merely a house of consumer credit cards and the unlimited chequing account of the Federal Treasury.
If there is a fly in the ointment of this seemingly bullish scenario
for 2005 it is the Tokyo Nikkei Dow cycle of the 1990's. Here the drifting
market of 1994 did end in a crash to new lows for the Nikkei. We have often
noted the seeming similarity in the structure of the current S&P 500
from 2000 with the Tokyo Nikkei Dow from 1990. Will the 1990's Nikkei market
cycle prevail or will the magic of the cycle of the years ending in 5 come
through once again and make all of the bulls very happy. Can it really
be that easy?
The risks are five fold as we see it. They are the ongoing trade and
current account deficits that could lead to a collapse in the US Dollar;
the huge and growing budget deficits primarily caused by the huge expenditures
for the War in Iraq and Homeland Security; further disruptions to oil supplies
beyond what has occurred so far with falling inventories and curtailed
supply due to attacks on pipelines in Iraq and possibly even Saudi Arabia
that could drive oil prices to the $70 range which would fulfill long term
minimum targets; a sharp slow down in the China colossus as we note the
stock market there has been constantly moving to new lows recently; and
finally a major terrorist attack in the United States although it might
accomplish the same impact even in Europe. The Economist cited these risks
in "The risks ahead for the world economy" September 11, 2004. We echo
the sentiments.
For the past year the US Dollar has managed to trade in a range while keeping downward pressure on gold prices that move counter to the US Dollar. A potential reason that has occurred has been the massive growth of holdings of US Treasuries by Central Banks through the foreign custodial account at the Federal Reserve. Dan Norcini detailed this phenomenon in a recent article entitled "The synthetic short dollar theory weighed in the balance" September 11, 2004. The Federal Reserve foreign holdings account has risen sharply from $700 million in 2001 to over $1.3 trillion recently. A big chunk of this was seen in the past year and may have contributed to holding the US Dollar together even as other figures indicated that there were net outflows elsewhere in the same period.
There have been some indications that foreigners are becoming less inclined to buy US treasuries at auction as they did in the past. This has negative ramifications for the US$, US interest rates (which will go up) and inflation, which will also go up. A falling US$ would also mean that commodity prices that are priced in US$ will rise to compensate for the falling purchase power. None of this positive but the full impact of this scenario has yet to occur. We point it out because the longer we go on the more likely it is to occur especially if the insatiable demand for funds continues from the US to finance their wars and security.
Indeed some pundits have noted that the US deficit shortfall could be even larger than it is. Even the US Comptroller General David Walker has described the budget outlook as "Chilling". The reason is that the budget deficits and debt ignores future liabilities of social security and Medicare. The estimate of this so-called "fiscal gap" is potentially as high as $72 trillion. The IMF has estimated the gap at $47 trillion and the Brookings Institute at $60 trillion. These are numbers so large as to be implausible but have been confirmed by a number of economic and budgetary think tanks.
We can understand why Alan Greenspan is so optimistic because if he stated the truth the markets would collapse. The bulls are buoyed by an upcoming year cycle that suggests that winning is a lay up and all one has to do is show up and you can take it to the bank. We don't deny that the Greenspan's upbeat take on the economy might be right nor do we deny that the magic of the year ending in 5 could once again make everyone happy but we do believe that everyone should be aware of the risks and that complacency can sometimes result in getting your teeth kicked in.

The booming economy? Part 2
Someone is being primed to become roast pig http://www.321gold.com/editorials/chapman_d/chapman_d_031405.html contributing editors to - Dan David Chapman - March 14, 2005 |
Six months ago we wrote a piece questioning whether we were in a booming economy (Technical Scoop - The booming economy? - September 18, 2004). Today of course we can't help but notice that since then the stock market is up about 5% for the Dow Jones Industrials, 7% for the S&P 500, just under 8% for the NASDAQ and the real star the S&P/TSX Composite is up about 15% led by energy, metals and gold. A strong economy or the belief that the economy is going to improve is one of the prime reasons that the stock market rises. So does that mean that we are off and that the stock market is now headed for the highs of 2000 on the back of a rising economy? Especially when it was only in our last article that we wondered "Is America broke?"
This month is also the 5th anniversary of the all time stock market highs. So if the measure of a booming economy is the heights of the stock market then it is clear that while we are certainly well up from where we were in October 2002 (the lows) but the highs of five years ago remain elusive. Indeed we are reminded that anniversary dates are very important and seeing that once again we are at highs on these important anniversary dates is not exactly a warm fuzzy feeling we get as they are often important turning points.
The Dow Jones Industrials topped first on January 14, 2000 at 11723 (close). The NASDAQ followed on March 10, 2000 topping at 5049; the S&P 500 topped on March 24, 2000 at 1527 and finally the S&P/TSX Composite topped last six months later on September 5, 2000 at 11,328. Today the DJI remains about 1000 points below its all time high close or about 8%, the S&P 500 is down over 300 points or about 21%, the S&P/TSX Composite is off over 1600 points or about 14.5% while the NASDAQ is the hardest hit down almost 3000 points or about 59%. Some boom.
Of course as always, is the glass half full or half empty or as I am sure the bull optimists might view - don't look how far we have fallen but look at how far we have come. If your perspective is from the depths of the October 2002 lows then things are indeed looking up. The DJI is up almost 44%, the S&P 500 up 50%, the S&P/TSX Composite up a huge 70% and the NASDAQ up even more at 84%. Times are great. Let the good times roll. So which is it boom or bust?
We have always contended that we are in secular bear market but experiencing a cyclical bull market. And these cyclical bulls (or B waves as Elliott Wave Theory would call) within the context of a secular bear can be very tricky. The hardest hit in the bear market was the big winners of the late 1990's, the high tech sector. Numerous high tech flyers are today trading at a fraction of their value in 2000. Witness Nortel who topped in late July 2000 near $123 and today sits at $3.64 (note: which is well off its low close of $0.69 in October 2002). In between the tech wreck left thousands of investors a lot poorer, cost ten's of thousands their jobs and resulted in numerous scandals and bankruptcies. Today the high tech industry while somewhat recovered still sits with huge overcapacity and will take years to recover even a modicum of its former glory. The companies that have survived are probably a lot a stronger for the experience but they themselves may never recover to those former highs in most people's lifetime.
The market of the late 1990's was pushed along on a sea of liquidity as the Federal Reserve flooded the system with money related first to the US$ currency and bond crisis of 1994, pushed further by the Asian flu of 1997 and then the Russian crisis and more Asian flu in 1998 and finally the looming Y2K crisis of 2000. Indeed not only did the Federal Reserve help flood the system with funds but all Central Banks globally were guilty. But since Central Banks don't actually print money it takes a huge loosening of the private banking system to really unlock the funds to provide the liquidity. Reserve requirements also ended by the mid 1990's and this as much as anything helped unleash the fuel for the bull market at the end of the century.
Only when the Fed was forced to raise interest rates in 2000 and take some of the steam out of the bubble market and soak up some of the excess liquidity did it unleash the collapse of the market. Then along came September 11 and everything was forced to change again. The Fed and other central banks as well unleashed more liquidity into the market coupled a with ratcheting down of interest rates to the point where they became negative (interest rates less than the rate of inflation) and they have remained there despite recent interest rate hikes. This has now unleashed a second bubble not only in stocks but as well in bonds and the housing market as the banking system further loosened the system with the low interest rates to provide seemingly a never ending stream of mortgage funds and lending knowing that the Fed will not raise interest rates to no further than a neutral level. At that level it still doesn't cause any serious pain and lenders (banks) still maintain huge lending spreads while paying little for their funds.
And the investment dealers, banks and hedge funds after smarting from the collapse of the tech market rebounded jumped into the fray with additional speculation not only in investment grade bonds but derivatives and junk bonds. Today junk bond yield spreads to US Treasuries are at record low levels despite a track record of knowing that after 3 years 50% of junk bonds are typically in default and after 11 years 80% of junk bonds are in default. Key of course is getting out at the right time. While the investment dealers, banks and hedge funds might they also ensure that the public will probably be left holding the bag as they chase yield.
Today others are wondering whether there is a bubble in commodity stocks (particularly oil) and here in Canada, Income Trusts. But commodities are driven by growing global demand and the income trusts while driven by yield many of the businesses are there because the income trust model suits them well and they have a long track record in the business.
One of the more dangerous bubbles is in the housing and property markets where low interest rates have encouraged record mortgage lending including refinancings and the subsequent cash has been poured into the purchase of consumer goods thus propping up the economy. Rising interest rates will cool the mortgage refinancing and with millions already refinanced demand will fall but rising interest rates on mortgages many of which were financed with floating rates will be pressed. Long after the purchase of that second or third SUV or 60 inch LCD Television wears off the mortgage remains and as demand falters for housing prices revert to a their long term mean.
While housing prices have shown no real tail off as of yet it is already on the downswing in places such as Great Britain where interest rates have risen faster. As well one only has to look at the rising stock of rental units coming on the market to realize that the housing and property bubble is getting near the end. In typical fashion it may end with a thud rather than any clear sign that a top is being made. A bust in the housing market will typically harm the most those centres where property and housing prices have been rising very quickly. Those areas are in large urban centres in the United States and Canada which of course contain the largest stock of housing.
But as another sign that the so called booming economy may not be what it is all cracked up to be we noted a report composed of data taken directly from the US Department of Labour, the US Department of Commerce, the Conference Board, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Brookings Tax Policy Center. It is an interesting array of data.
During the period 2001-2005 (to February) the period of the George W. Bush Presidency the following has taken place:
- While non-farm payroll is up roughly 400 thousand jobs, private non-farm payroll employment has fallen 500 thousand jobs. Worse Manufacturing Employment has lost 2.8 million jobs for a net loss of 2.9 million jobs.
- The Bush Administration is the first US administration since Herbert Hoover to have a net job loss.
- The Unemployment rate rose from 4.2% in January 2001 to 5.4% in February 2005 and given the way unemployment is actually compiled it is suspected that the real unemployment rate may be 9% or higher.
- Long term unemployment as defined by people unemployed for more than 26 weeks has more than doubled since January 2001.
- It was estimated that between tax cuts and economic growth in February 2003 that upwards of 2 million jobs would be created by now. The reality was about 300 thousand jobs.
- During the period 1996-2000 real median weekly earnings of full-time workers averaged a 1.7% increase. Since 2001 it has averaged .2%.
- From 1950-2000 average US GDP growth was 3.3%. Since 2001 it has been 2.7%.
- Investment growth is the second lowest in 50 years only surpassing that under the administration of Gerald Ford.
- Business investment in plant and equipment has grown less than 4% since 2001 as many businesses have closed and reopened in low cost Asian countries.
- Consumer confidence despite improving of late still sits 10% lower than where it was in January 2001 (Conference Board).
- The stock market of course remains well down from its all time highs the first administration since Richard Nixon to have it happen and only the second since Herbert Hoover.
- Large projected budget surpluses that were estimated to be in the area of $397 billion annually by 2004 instead turned into a $412 billion deficit (Congressional Budget Office).
- In February 2001 the Bush administration (Office of Management and Budget) projected Public Debt would be $1.2 trillion by 2008; the current projection is $5.7 trillion.
- The Brookings Tax Policy Center has calculated that the tax cuts for people making one million or more is more than 90 times the cut for middle income homes.
- Household income has fallen 1.2% the greatest average decline in household income in any administration in over 40 years.
- Real Median Household Income has fallen $1535 since 2000 (average $44,853 down to $43,318) (US Department of Commerce).
- The poverty rate in the US has climbed the second highest average of any administration over the past 45 years (only exceeded by the administration of George H. W. Bush). (US Department of Commerce).
- 4.3 million more Americans are estimated to live in poverty since 2000 (US Department of Commerce).
- 5.2 million more Americans are without Health Insurance now totalling over 45 million (US Department of Commerce). Upwards of half of all bankruptcies are due to a health crisis.
Posing the question "Is America going broke?" is of course gratuitous. US debt still maintains an AAA rating as do many other highly industrialized countries such as Canada. That rating is of course based on unlimited taxing power. Of course they could also slash huge swaths of domestic support programs which is what has been proposed. That they are of course domestic support programs provides dislocations of a different sort. Boosted on the other side are Homeland Security and Defence.
Over the past five years total debt has grown by roughly $6.1 trillion or about 33%. This is against a backdrop of GDP growth of $1.9 trillion or 19%. Meanwhile Personal Income grew $1.2 trillion less than 15% while consumer debt grew $3.2 trillion up 46%. Debt is growing at a faster rate than income. In 2000 debt to disposable income was 98% and in 2004 it had increased to 120%. Numbers in Canada, Britain are not a whole lot different and indeed in Britain they are worse. While household assets prices have been increasing they are only 70% of disposable income. Debt is growing even faster. The housing boom over the past decade is growing at a faster rate then even in the late 1980's that ended in a huge housing and property collapse. Yet we are told there is no bubble.
While the bulls love to point out that things are a lot better than they were in October 2002 one has to put that in perspective. Looking at many of the numbers above one realizes that it is a world of illusion built on a bed of debt. US private sector real wages and salaries are up barely 2% from the trough back in 2002. The average of the last six recoveries was just over 10%. As our numbers indicated above wages are actually falling behind even as debt grows. Massive build ups in debt always end badly and over the past 5 years we have allowed debt to grow to enourmous levels. A booming economy? We think not. Someone is being primed to become roast pig.

[There is an old addage of choosing your battles. Even if what Mark Owen writes is correct (and many others have written on this matter), you still have to decide whether this is an issue you really want to battle. Natually, I would suggest reviewing and/or studying the matter, but whether this or any other matter, you should honestly decide if it is how and where you want to spend your time. -- Tribble]
There are two Crowns operant in England, one being Queen Elizabeth II. Although extremely wealthy, the Queen functions largely in a ceremonial capacity and serves to deflect attention away from the other Crown, who issues her marching orders through their control of the English Parliament. This other Crown is comprised of a committee of 12 banks headed by the Bank of England (House of Rothschild). They rule the world from the 677-acre, independent sovereign state known as The City of London, or simply 'The City.'
The City is not a part of England, just as Washington is not a part of the USA. The City is referred to as the wealthiest square mile on earth and is presided over by a Lord Mayor who is appointed annually. When the Queen wishes to conduct business within the City, she is met by the Lord Mayor at Temple (Templar) Bar where she requests permission to enter this private, sovereign state. She then proceeds into the City walking several paces behind the Mayor. Her entourage may not be clothed in anything other than service uniforms.
In the nineteenth century, 90% of the world's trade was carried by British
ships controlled by the Crown. The other 10% of ships had to pay commissions
to the Crown simply for the privilege of using the world's oceans.
The Crown reaped billions in profits while operating under the protection of the British armed forces. This was not British commerce or British wealth, but the Crown's commerce and the Crown's wealth. As of 1850, author Frederick Morton estimated the Rothschild fortune to be in excess of $10 billion. Today, the bonded indebtedness of the world is held by the Crown.
The aforementioned Temple Bar is the juristic arm of the Crown and holds an exclusive monopoly on global legal fraud through their Bar Association franchises. The Temple Bar is comprised of four Inns of Court. They are; the Middle Temple, Inner Temple, Lincoln's Inn and Gray's Inn. The entry point to these closed secret societies is only to be found when one is called to their Bar.
The Bar attorneys in the United States owe their allegiance and pledge their oaths to the Crown. All Bar Associations throughout the world are signatories and franchises to the International Bar Association located at the Inns of Court of the Crown Temple.
The Inner Temple holds the legal system franchise by license that bleeds Canada and Great Britain white, while the Middle Temple has license to steal from America. To have the Declaration of Independence recognized internationally, Middle Templar King George III agreed in the Treaty of Paris of 1783 to establish the legal Crown entity of the incorporated United States, referred to internally as the Crown Temple States (Colonies). States spelled with a capital letter 'S,' denotes a legal entity of the Crown.
At least five Templar Bar Attorneys under solemn oath to the Crown, signed the American Declaration of Independence. This means that both parties were agents of the Crown. There is no lawful effect when a party signs as both the first and second parties. The Declaration was simply an internal memo circulating among private members of the Crown. Most Americans believe that they own their own land, but they have merely purchased real estate by contract. Upon fulfillment of the contract, control of the land is transferred by Warranty Deed. The Warranty Deed is only a 'color of title.' Color of Title is a semblance or appearance of title, but not title in fact or in law. The Warranty Deed cannot stand against the Land Patent.
The Crown was granted Land Patents in North America by the King of England. Colonials rebelled at the usurious Crown taxes, and thus the Declaration of Independence was created to pacify the populace.
Another method used to hoodwink natural persons is enfranchisement. Those cards in your wallet bearing your name spelled in all capital letters means that you have been enfranchised and have the status of a corporation. A 'juristic personality' has been created, and you have entered into multi-variant agreements that place you in an equity relationship with the Crown.
These invisible contracts include: birth certificates, citizenship records, employment agreements, driver's licenses and bank accounts. It is perhaps helpful to note here that contracts do not now, nor have they ever had to be stated in writing in order to be enforceable by American judges. If it is written down, it is merely a written statement of the contract.
Tax protestors and (the coming) draft resistors trying to renounce the parts of these contracts that they now disagree with will not profit by resorting to tort law (fairness) arguments as justification. Judges will reject these lines of defense as they have no bearing on contract law jurisprudence. Tort law governs grievances where no contract law is in effect.
These private agreements/contracts that bind us will always overrule the broad general clauses of the Constitution and Bill of Rights (the Constitution being essentially a renamed enactment of English common law). The Bill of Rights is viewed by the Crown as a 'bill of benefits,' conferred on us by them in anticipation of reciprocity (taxes). Protestors and resistors will also lose their cases by boasting of citizenship status. Citizenship is another equity agreement that we have with the Crown. And this is the very juristic contract that Federal judges will use to incarcerate them. In the words of former Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter, "Equity is brutal, but we are merely enforcing agreements." The balance of Title 42, section 1981 of the Civil Rights Code states, ".citizens shall be subject to like punishment, pains, penalties, taxes, licenses, and exactions of every kind"
What we view as citizenship, the Crown views as a juristic enrichment instrumentality. It also should be borne in mind that even cursory circulation or commercial use of Federal Reserve Notes effects an attachment of liability for the payment of the Crown's debt to the FED. This is measured by your taxable income. And to facilitate future asset-stripping, the end of the 14th amendment includes a state of debt hypothecation of the United States, wherein all enfranchised persons (that's you) can be held personally liable for the Crown's debt.
The Crown views our participation in these contracts of commercial equity as being voluntary and that any gain accrued is taxable, as the gain wouldn't have been possible were it not for the Crown. They view the system of interstate banks as their own property. Any profit or gain experienced by anyone with a bank account (or loan, mortgage or credit card) carries with it - as an operation of law - the identical same full force and effect as if the Crown had created the gain.
Bank accounts fall outside the umbrella of Fourth Amendment protection because a commercial contract is in effect and the Bill of Rights cannot be held to interfere with the execution of commercial contracts. The Crown also views bank account records as their own private property, pursuant to the bank contract that each of us signed and that none of us ever read.
The rare individual who actually reads the bank contract will find that they agreed to be bound by Title 26 and under section 7202 agreed not to disseminate any fraudulent tax advice. This written contract with the Crown also acknowledges that bank notes are taxable instruments of commerce.
When we initially opened a bank account, another juristic personality was created. It is this personality (income and assets) that IRS agents are excising back to the Crown through taxation.
A lot of ink is being spilled currently over Social Security. Possession of a Social Security Number is known in the Crown's lex as 'conclusive evidence' of our having accepted federal commercial benefits. This is another example of an equity relationship with the Crown. Presenting one's Social Security Number to an employer seals our status as taxpayers, and gives rise to liability for a reciprocal quid pro quo payment of taxes to the Crown.
Through the Social Security Number we are accepting future retirement endowment benefits. Social Security is a strange animal. If you die, your spouse gets nothing, but rather, what would have gone to you is divided (forfeited) among other premium payers who haven't died yet.
But the Crown views failure to reciprocate in any of these equity attachments
as an act of defilement and will proceed against us with all due prejudice.
For a person to escape the tentacles of the Crown octopus, a thoroughgoing
study of American jurisprudence is required. One would have to be deemed
a 'stranger to the public trust,' forfeit all enfranchisement benefits
and close all bank accounts, among other things. Citizenship would have
to be made null and forfeit and the status of 'denizen' enacted. If there
are any such natural persons extant who have passed through this fire,
I would certainly appreciate hearing from them

Mark Owen is INCORRECT. A spouse of a deceased gets Social Security payments of 1/2 of the deceased monthly payment, or their own entitlement, whichever is higher.
A spouse need not have worked at all to receive the 1/2 payment.
There is also a "death benefit" of approximately $250. paid to the survivor.
Those who do not fact check should not submit false articles to Rense.

Your reader is somewhat correct in his Social Security surmise. The act is constantly in a state of flux and was ammended last year. I possessed copies of the act of 2003. Thus ammended, and according to their own words today:
"...The number of years you need to work for your family to be eligible for Social Security survivors benefits depends on your age when you die..."
There are other restrictions on spousal death benefits too numerous to cite.
A case is made in civil law according to a preponderance of evidence. Under contract law, the complainant (your reader) would be the victor. Under tort law, my arguments would still suffice and be actionable.
My article emphasizes overarching themes of the Crown matrix that have
heretofore not been broached.

Good evening, Jeff -
The Mark Owen post on your site tonight about taxes and the crown - this guy is a complete idiot who has bought into the crap out there in the tax movement. http://www.rense.com/general63/tcs.htm
His e-mail address isn't in his bilge or I would have sent this to him directly. It is exactly this flavor of idiot that is getting people thrown in jail. Boy, I wish his e-mail address was made public. I'd give him a very public piece of my mind.
Larry Becraft has debunked both the crown, names in caps and the ABA destroyed arguments long ago:
Names in caps:

The Crown and ABA:
http://home.hiwaay.net/%7Ebecraft/BAR.html
Larry can tell you how many suckers he knows that bought into this junk that are now serving hard prison time, the latest being poor Al Thompson. He bought into the name in caps and other "legal" theories from charlatans. He will be sentenced soon and faces a minimum of about eight years in a federal pen.
Cordially,

["Feelings" are rampant on this continuing story. Motives and agendas are weighing heavily. It is difficult to find someone who does not have an opinion on the matter. Few people are being rational on the matter. This is not to say there is anything wrong with having feelings on the matter, but it is almost entertaining to witness the strength of conviction based solely on emotion. This of course is what peopel do with politics and religion, so it is not surprising. -- Tribble]
Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- A California businessman has offered Terri Schiavo's estranged husband $1 million to not starve her to death and to transfer legal guardianship for her to Terri's family.
Robert Herring, Sr., lives in San Diego and is the founder of WEALTHTV, a lifestyle and entertainment television channel. He also spent more than 30 years in the electronics industry as the founder and owner of HERCO Technology, which he later sold to a larger firm.
Herring contacted infamous attorney Gloria Allred to pay Michael Schiavo $1 million if he complies with Herring's request.
"After viewing video of Terri on television, I came to the belief that there was hope for her," Herring said in a statement Thursday. "As events have proceeded in the legal battle, it became clear to me that if something was not done for Terri, that all hope for her would be lost."
The money has been placed in a a trust account operated by Allred on Wednesday and the attorney sent a letter to Michael Thursday morning comunicating the offer.
There is no word on whether Michael will accept the offer. Should he do so, courts will still need to sign off on changing legal guardian ship for Terri.
Herring said he acted now because he is worried that Florida courts will not turn back on their decision to allow Michael to starve Terri to death next week.
"With a date of March 18th quickly approaching, and no other viable hope for Terri to be able to keep her feeding tube, I felt compelled to act," he said.
Allred confirmed Herring's rationale.
"It now appears that the court process is ending, and that the legislative process has failed to stop the removal of the feeding tube," she said.
"He recognizes that unless something is done immediately, Terri Schiavo is not likely to survive very long," Allred added. "Knowing that time is of the essence and realizing that he is fortunate enough to be able to help, he has decided to take action.".
Allred was the attorney for Amber Frey in the infamous Scott Peterson
trial. Frey had an affair with Scott during the time he killed Laci and
Conner Peterson.

KIRKLAND -- Nathaniel Skiles of Kirkland has been summoned for jury duty three times over the last two years.
A proud American, he'd love to fulfill his civic duty, but there's one problem: Nathaniel's only 5 years old.
On Monday, his mother opened her mailbox and found a familiar letter from King County addressed to her son. She knew what it was before she opened it, she said.
``Sometimes I think if he actually showed up maybe they'd figure out why he's been called for jury duty three times,'' Tammy Skiles said.
Apparently, the clerical glitch occurred after the Skiles applied for state identification cards for all their children to use while traveling.
The state mistakenly made Nathaniel's birth date 1900 instead of 2000, a classic Y2K flub.
Unsure of all the attention Tuesday, Nathaniel smiled and talked about seeing himself on TV talking to a news reporter earlier in the day.
``Now I get to be president,'' the boy said.
A spokeswoman for King County Superior Court confirmed it was Nathaniel's mistaken birth date that caused the problem.
``Every time (Nathaniel's jury duty notices) came, I filled out the information and sent them back to the court, stating he was 3 or 4,'' Skiles said.
But that didn't stop a third notice from arriving Monday. This time, Nathaniel was called on to appear for jury duty at King County District Court in Redmond.
Whether he's 5 or 105, as state records indicate, Skiles quipped, Nathaniel's first obvious problem is getting to the courthouse.
Despite the time she's spent wondering just how King County defines ``a jury of one's peers,'' Skiles said her family has taken Nathaniel's court summonses in stride, turning it into the tot's first civics lesson.
``We talked about who a juror is and that they decide if someone is guilty or innocent,'' she said. ``You know -- just as much as you can make a 5-year-old understand.''

Troy Hurtubise has done the seemingly impossible with his newest invention and defied all known rules of physics, he says.
The Angel Light—Hurtubise claims the concept came to him in a recurring dream—can reportedly see through walls, as if there was no barrier at all.
That’s not all, though.
So impressed
Hurtubise, 41, said the device detects stealth technology.
And he’s done the tests to prove it, with the covert help of scientists at the famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hurtubise said.
If that’s not enough, Hurtubise also said the French government sent representatives to North Bay to witness a demonstration of the Angel Light.
Hurtubise said the reps were so impressed with the eight-foot long device they paid him $40,000 in cash to put the finishing touches on it.
New universe
The French, Hurtubise adds, have also agreed to pay him a “substantial”
amount of money for the technology if it passes rigorous tests in France.
“They couldn’t believe what they saw,” Hurtubise told BayToday.ca.
“One of them told me it was as if I’d discovered a new universe.”
Gary Dryfoos, a consultant and former long-time instructor at MIT, said "there's a Nobel Prize" for Hurtubise if the Angel Light really performs as described.
"There are laws of physics waiting to be written for what he's talking about," Dryfoos said.
The French aren't the only ones interested in Hurtubise's innovations.
BayToday.ca has obtained documentation confirming that the former head of Saudi counter-intelligence, who asked that his name not be used, has been in regular contact with Hurtubise regarding the Angel Light, fire paste, and the Light Infantry Military Blast Cushions (LIMBC).
Ultra-wideband technology
While Hurtubise’s claims appear, on the surface, to strain credulity,
he has now placed himself miles ahead in the quest by high-tech companies
to invent something that will do the same thing.
Motorola Inc. for example, has set its sights on emerging technology that could allow first responders and Special Forces to see through building walls, the Washington Technology Web site reports.
Camero Inc. an Israeli firm founded by technology and intelligence veterans, received $5 million from Motorola and other investors to develop portable imaging radar that uses ultra-wideband technology to create a 3-D picture of objects that are concealed by walls or other barriers.
Plasma light
Three units make up the Angel Light.
The main unit, which Hurtubise calls the centrifuge, contains the Angel Light’s brains and includes black, white, red and fluorescent light sources, as well as seven industrial lasers.
The second unit, or the deflector grid, contains a large circle of optical glass, a microwave unit and plasma intermixed with carbon dioxide.
The third unit contains eight plasma light rods, CO2 charges, industrial magnets, 108 mirrors, eight ionization cells industrial lights, and other components Hurtubise chooses to remain tight-lipped about.
Just a dream
Hurtubise said the Angel Light has cost $30,000 to build—he sold percentages
of his other innovations to finance it—as well as 800 to 900 hours of his
time.
He credits his subconscious with the idea.
“I had a dream about a year and a half ago as I do for most of my innovations, just a dream, and I saw it, saw the whole casing and everything, and I saw what it could do,” Hurtubise said.
“I had the same dream about that three times and by the third time I had it in my head and I started to build it.”
Through the wall
Troy dreamed the Angel Light would be able to see through walls with
window-like efficiency, and then built it with no blueprints, drawings
or schematics.
“I turned it on—that was well over a year ago—and it worked and it was really awesome.”
Hurtubise said he could see into the garage behind his lab wall, and read the licence plate on his wife's car and even see the salt on it.
"I almost broke my knuckles three or four times, because it was almost like you could step through the wall," Hurtubise said.
"You could be fooled into believing that you could actually walk through the wall and go touch the car."
Across the border
Hurtubise called his MIT contacts with news of what he’d done.
“They told me that I was playing with electromagnetism,” Hurtubise said.
The conversation ultimately led to the discovery of the Angel Light’s other startling properties.
Hurtubise said “somebody from MIT” shipped him an eight-inch by eight-inch piece of panelling from the latest Comanche helicopter, which was built using radar-resistant stealth technology.
“It’s amazing what you can get across the border on a Greyhound bus,” Hurtubise said.
Pick it up
Hurtubise was instructed to set up an outdoor track, which he did on
First Nations land.
He attached the panel piece to a remote control car that went down the track.
Hurtubise then aimed the Angel Light at the panel and turned on a radar gun.
“I was able to pick it up the panel on the radar gun,” he said.
Stopped working
But a strange thing happened to the car, once it was hit by the Angel
Light beam: it stopped working.
Hurtubise returned to his lab and began testing the Angel Light on other electronic items including portable radios, TVs and a microwave over.
“They all stopped working,” Hurtubise said.
He duly reported this to his MIT contacts.
"They said 'Troy, this is unbelievable.'"
To the ground
Hurtubise purchase a remote-control plane for $1,800 and took it and
the Angel Light to a flying field on the way to Powassan.
He directed the Angel Light beam toward the sky and started the plane flying.
"On the first loop it came around, passed through the beam of light and fell right to the ground,” Hurtubise said.
Peeled it back
Hurtubise continued testing the light on other materials and discovered
it could also see through other metals including steel, tin, titanium and,
unlike Superman, lead.
As well the beam also penetrated ceramic and wood.
The Hurtubise put his hand in the light beam.
“I could see my blood vessels, muscles, everything, like I’d taken an Exacto knife, cut into my skin and peeled it back,” Hurtubise said.
Bad stuff
Soon after, Hurtubise discovered the Angel Light had devilish side-effects.
He lost feeling in the finger of the exposed hand and began suffering an overall malaise.
“MIT told me every time I turned it on there must have been splash-back hitting me,” Hurtubise said.
A test on a tank of goldfish was even more disturbing.
“I turned the beam on it and within minutes all the goldfish died,” Hurtubise said.
“That’s when I realized there was a Hyde effect, as in Jekyll and Hyde, and I dismantled the whole thing.”
Walked on water
He didn’t reassemble it until the French called him after seeing a
Discovery Channel program about the LIMBC.
Hurtubise believes the Hyde effect can be taken out, but by others who have far more expertise than him.
In the meantime Hurtubise believes that after 17 years inventing, his ship may finally have come in with France.
"My brother told me the only way I'd be able to sell any of my innovations is by walking on water," Hurtubise said.
"Well, I think I've just walked on water."

Economists and precious metals experts throughout the country who track market indicators and money trends worldwide, are wondering why the American people continue to ignore what they call "hard facts" that America's "recovering" economy is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover up the continued "borrowing to spend" practices of Congress. These experts warn that when the bubble finally bursts, it will make 1929 look like a walk in the park.
Last week saw jittery investors as the euro hit $1.32 and the dollar tumbled - again. The U.S. currency continues to fall in dangerous levels against rival currencies throughout the world. Asian banks have traditionally held their reserves in U.S. dollar denominated U.S. Treasury securities.
The U.S. dollar's weakness up against the euro pushed up gold last week to around $431 a troy ounce. Oil has once again jumped over the $51.00 per barrel mark. Crude is expected to remain in the $45-$50 dollar range throughout 2005.
Last week, billionaire investor, George Soros, who spent tens of millions of dollars to unseat George Bush, Jr., in the last election, warned at a recent conference in Saudi Arabia that if Middle East oil exporters and Russia would switch some of their revenues from dollars to euros, it could push the U.S. to a "tipping point." Billionaires like Warren Buffett have been buying up gold at a rate that most Americans can't even relate to, but those in the industry say Americans should pay attention when someone like Buffett is giving up the paper for gold.
Tension in currency and stock markets last week were prompted over Sir Alan Greenspan's testimony in front of Congress and worries that a rise in inflation could promopt the nation's bank, the Federal Reserve to step up interest rate increases.
In his recent column, 'Four Fed Hikes and a Funeral,' Ron Kirby had this to say about one of the government's largest debt obligations:
"The myth of the social security trust fund died last week. The lack of candor not withstanding, on the part of his eminence – Easy Al Greenspan; enough layers of the onion were peeled back that it was revealed for once and for all – more rotten onion. Actually, for those who could still bear to watch and listen without crying, they learned that the system is, in fact, worse than broke. Admittedly, a heck of a lot of folks still don’t get it. This fact is pointedly articulated by Jim Puplava in his Financial Sense Newshour [Feb 19 -1st hr] and his take on Alan Greenspan’s semi annual testimony to law makers up on Capitol Hill last week. Listening to the Big Easy explain the state of solvency [or lack thereof] to the esteemed Congresswoman-D, N.Y., Carolyn Maloney last week provided us all [as if it was needed] with conclusive evidence as to the lengths he will go to – to twist, pervert and otherwise obfuscate our reality. I use the term “our reality” only because I know, in my heart of hearts, the man really knows better."
Bob Chapman, known for his uncanny accuracy in predicting the markets and the financial pulse of America's economy, had this to say in his International Forecaster newsletter:
"Over the past decade, productivity growth on average has been about 2-1/2%, which is historically normal. It has not been 4-5% as described by government statistics and Sir Alan Greenspan. This is simply another lie in the process of psychological warfare, which is used to brainwash the American public. There has been no productivity miracle, but there has been a budget and current account balance disaster. Real rates of return on investment have not come from productivity but from the use of third world slave labor. It is similar to profits of the opium trade between India and China, which British and American families engaged in during the 19th century. This is how the great American fortunes were begun and how the British Royal Family became enormously rich.
"This exodus of manufacturing capabilities over these ten years has caused US exports to drop from 24% of GDP to 13% of GDP. As this transpired, deficits continued to grow and naturally the dollar began its decent. That decent was not allowed to occur until five years ago, because prior to that the Clinton administration via Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin artificially increased or stabilized the dollar. That was accomplished via the working Group on Financial Markets and the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, the use of the repo pool and the suppression of gold prices. This false dollar value caused imports to exceed exports by some 50%.
"Cheap foreign goods become even cheaper and that excited the Fed because it suppressed inflation. There was an assist as well as exporters began to accumulate large dollar balances, which they in turn used to buy US Treasuries and agencies, which continued to allow the profligate spending of the American consumer. The result was a relentlessly rising trade and current account deficit. This easy money and credit underwritten by foreigners and the Federal Reserve exacerbated the situation by allowing spending to exceed income as real wages fell under the pressure of outsourcing and illegal immigration. In order to maintain their lifestyle, consumers have fallen deeper and deeper into debt. The Bureau of Labor Statistics tells us that hedonically our inflation is 3.3%, when in fact it is considerably higher. That phantom inflation has bitten deeply into consumer purchasing power.
"Under free trade and globalization, the more we import the less we produce. We can never compete with third world wages. That is why we always had tariffs, duties and imports. Had we not had them, America would have never prospered over the last 225 years. America’s economy would have always been inundated with cheap foreign goods and our standard of living would be that of a third world country.
"When we import goods our purchasing power falls and no real wealth is built within our country, and as you well know our jobs are shipped to the third world. Furthermore, we do not need cheap goods. We did just fine before those cheap goods were allowed to arrive in such numbers. If we do not stop free trade and the machinations of WTO and NATA or CAFTA and FTAA, were they to become law, we would be doomed. Generally, both political parties back these treaties and amnesty. Our elected representatives know in most cases over 60% of their constituents are opposed to these issues, yet they continually vote for them."
Not everyone is enamored of the privately owned Federal Reserve Banking system. Several years ago, the Von Mises Institute at Auburn Univeristy commented, "Today the Fed attempts to coordinate world-wide inflation as the major banks once attempted to coordinate nationwide inflation. The major banks once agreed among themselves to bail out bankrupt banks to prop up the domestic financial system; now the Fed bails out central banks of other countries to prop up the entire international financial system. The logical end of this monetary interventionism is a single world-wide central bank with unlimited, coordinated inflation: in short, the dream of John Maynard Keynes. "But why would anyone desire this, especially after a century of Fed-caused inflation, business cycles, world wars, welfarism, statism, financial insecurity, and cultural collapse? Government and its connected interests do, but for everyone else, it would be a disaster, no matter what Alan Greenspan says." It would appear that the same conditions exist today and that not much "recovery" has been made, but in fact, the debt load continues to stagger even long time market investors and econonomists.
Pros say their position is right on the mark and the worst is yet to come. Before the crash in 1929, the premier economists of the time who supported the monetary policies of the day, reassured the American people that all was well at Wall & Broad. History shows they were dead wrong. While most Americans believe the 1929 stock market crash caused the Great Depression of the '30s, others point to the actual cause being the Federal Reserve's manipulating the money supply during the 1920s and 1930s.
Despite the ability for the central bank to print up paper that has
no value (fiat currency), many are worried that even with all this flooding
of "prop up" money by the FED, will it be enough to meet the extreme challenges
in a few years when the baby boomer retire with an immediate
debt load of $71 trillion dollars? Since there is no money in the U.S.
Treasury and all income tax dollars go to pay the central bank for borrowing
by Congress so they can continue to spend, only time will tell if America
is indeed headed for a severe depression.

Behind the Scenes of Our Emerging Surveillance Society
We live in an ever more convenient society. We use credit cards, buy books on Amazon, reserve plane tickets on Expedia, bid for antiques on eBay, get cash at ATMs and find jobs on Monster. We use key cards to open hotel rooms, EZ-Pass to pay tolls and GPS to get directions. We send e-mail, fill prescriptions and sexual needs on the Internet, and pay bills electronically.
These conveniences generate data. In the "old" days, we did not leave behind a readily accessible, electronic trail of our purchases, conversations, whereabouts and transactions. We took for granted the anonymity and privacy of our ordinary, day-to-day lives. No more. Today, we are constantly tagged, monitored, studied, sorted and tracked by a vast array of institutions and organizations -- private and public. As Robert O'Harrow Jr. details in No Place to Hide, it is worse than we could ever have imagined. In this revealing book, O'Harrow makes clear that Americans need to think seriously about these issues now -- before it is too late for us to decide that we care.
O'Harrow unveils a modern world riddled with seemingly innocuous private businesses, government agencies and software programs with such obscure names as ChoicePoint, Acxiom, Matrix, DARPA, Seisint, HOLe and NORA. Unbeknownst to most of us, these institutions and technologies are relentlessly compiling information about our names, addresses, license plates, Social Security numbers, religions, incomes, family members, sexual orientations, friends, purchases, mortgages, bank accounts, credit card transactions, credit standing, parking tickets, criminal arrests and convictions, Web browsing, e-mail correspondence, newspaper and magazine preferences, cell phone activity, vacations, fingerprints, insurance coverage, facial images, DNA, drug prescriptions and beer of choice. Computers have made possible what was barely science fiction 20 years ago.
How do they get this information? For the most part, we give it to them, though usually unwittingly, with almost every step we take. Over the past several years, with the help of increasingly sophisticated computing systems and advances in artificial intelligence, these institutions and organizations have accumulated billions of data points about American citizens, which they then share with or sell to one another and to the government. As O'Harrow notes, "personal data has become a commodity that is bought and sold essentially like sow bellies."
Why do these companies and agencies do this? For you, of course. By gathering and sharing such data, they protect you from identify theft and credit card fraud, enable marketers to offer you precisely the right products to satisfy your tastes and needs, ensure that your fellow passengers are not terrorists, locate missing children and deadbeat dads, help police catch smugglers and murderers, and generally provide a safer society. And, in fact, they really do these things.
So what's the problem? Should we care that there's no place to hide? What dangers are posed by this more convenient, more secure society? In this chilling narrative, O'Harrow identifies the risks and vividly illustrates them with powerful real-life stories.
First, there is the simple risk of mistake. The data in these systems, according to Ole Poulsen, one of HOLe's creators, are "full of errors and noise and wrong information." As a result, individuals are denied insurance, credit, employment, the right to board an airplane, and even the right to vote when the system spins out inaccurate information. And, as O'Harrow persuasively demonstrates, correcting the record can be a nightmare.
Second, there is the risk of public disclosure. We regard much of this information as private. But hackers can all too easily capture it and use it to humiliate, blackmail and impersonate us. The Federal Trade Commission reports that in a typical year, 10 million Americans were the victims of identity theft, resulting in bounced checks, loan denials, harassment from debt collectors, cancelled insurance and false accusations of criminal conduct.
Third, there is the risk that government will use this information not only to ferret out terrorists, but also to suppress dissent and impose conformity. In the 1990s, this technology was developed primarily by private companies to enable marketers to target and profile consumers. After Sept. 11, however, the FBI, CIA, NSA, Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security aggressively sought access to these business databases, creating a vast private-public partnership in the exchange of such information. Moreover, the USA Patriot Act took full advantage of the post-9/11 crisis mentality and authorized a wide range of previously restricted government surveillance and data-gathering activities. Although the stated goal of these activities is to ensure our security, history teaches that once government has such information, it will inevitably use it to harass and silence those who question its policies.
Finally, O'Harrow warns that such massive invasion of privacy and intrusion into our ordinary anonymity may well alter the very fabric of our society. Once we understand that our every move is being tracked, monitored, recorded and collated, will we retain our essential sense of individual autonomy and personal dignity? Can freedom flourish in such a society? Is this the long awaited coming of 1984, the Brave New World of the 21st century, or will we somehow continue business, and life, as usual? •

[Thought provoking. -- Tribble]
Court Qualified Expert in VIDS and Legal Abuse Syndrome
"One basic truth can be used as a foundation for a mountain of lies, and if we dig down deep enough in the mountain of lies, and bring out that truth, to set it on top of the mountain of lies; the entire mountain of lies will crumble under the weight of that one truth. And there is nothing more devastating to a structure of lies than the revelation of the truth upon which the structure of lies was built, because the shock waves of the revelation of the truth reverberate, and continue to reverberate throughout the Earth for generations to follow, awakening even those people who had no desire to be awakened to the truth." (by Delamar Duvaris as written in the preface of "Behold the Pale Horse" by William Cooper).
The basic truth that served as the foundation for the mountain of lies known as vaccinations was the observation that mammals who recover from infection with microorganisms acquire natural immunity from further infections. Whenever T cells (the little packman cells which kill viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells, thus conferring cellular immunity) and B cells (antibody producing cells which confer humoral immunity) are activated by various substances foreign to the body called antigens, some of the T and B cells become memory cells. Thus, the next time the individual meets up with that same antigen, the immune system can be quickly triggered to demolish it. This is the process known as immunity.
This truth gave birth to a beLIEf that if a foreign antigen was injected into an individual, that individual would then become immune to a future infection. This beLIEf, (you see the lie in the middle), was given the name, "vaccinations". What the promoters of vaccination failed to realize is that the respiratory tract of ALL mammals (since animals are just as devastated by these inoculations with disease as are humans) contain secretory IgA (an antibody which initiates the natural God given immune response) within the respiratory tract mucosa. Bypassing this mucosal aspect of the immune system by directly injecting organisms into the bloodstream leads to a corruption in the immune system itself. As a result, the pathogenic viruses or bacteria cannot be eliminated by the immune system and remain in the body, where they will further grow and/or mutate as the individual is exposed to ever more antigens and toxins in the environment which continue to assault the immune system.
The mechanism by which the immune system is corrupted can best be realized when you understand that the two poles of the immune system (the cellular and humoral mechanisms) have a reciprocal relationship. Thus, when one is stimulated, the other is inhibited. Since vaccines activate the B cells to secrete antibody, the T cells are subsequently suppressed. This suppression of the cell mediated response is a key factor in the development of cancer and life threatening infections. In fact, the "prevention" of a disease via vaccination is, in reality, an inability to expel organisms due to the suppression of the cell-mediated response. Thus, rather than preventing disease; they actually prevent the disease from ever being resolved. The organisms continue circulating through the body, mutating and transforming into other organisms (as demonstrated by the work of Professor Antoine Bechamp), depending on the acidity and toxicity of the internal terrain of the body. Note that Bechamp proved that Louis Pasteur's "germ theory" of disease was incorrect due to this ability of organisms to transform and mutate based on the body's internal terrain (as Pasteur admitted on his deathbed). Thus, treatment of infection with antibiotics as well as "prevention" of disease with vaccines are both just examples of cutting off the branches of dis-ease, when the root of the cause is a toxic internal environment. However, since Pasteur's germ theory was conducive to the profits of the burgeoning pharmaceutical companies who only manage dis-ease, no mention of the work of Professor Bechamp has been made in medical school curricula.
To make matters worse than the suppression of cellular immunity which occurs when vaccines are injected, adjuvants (which are substances added to vaccines to enhance the antibody response) can actually lead to serious side effects themselves. Adjuvants include oil emulsions, mineral compounds (which may contain the heavy metal aluminum), bacterial products, liposomes (which allow delayed release of substances), and squalene. The side effects of adjuvants themselves include hyperactivity of B cells leading to pathologic levels of antibody production, as well as allergic reaction to the adjuvants themselves (as demonstrated in Gulf War I soldiers injected with vaccines containing the adjuvant squalene, to which antibodies were found in many soldiers). Note that the pathologically elevated hyperactivity of antibody production caused by adjuvants also results in a distraction from the other antigens that the immune system encounters "naturally", which must be addressed to maintain health.
This hyperactivity of the humoral (antibody producing) pole of the immune system is, in this author's opinion, the sole cause of all autoimmune diseases. The only thing which determines which autoimmune disease you develop is which tissues in your body are attacked by auto-antibodies. If the inside lining of the gastrointestinal tract (the mucosa) is attacked by auto-antibodies you develop leaky gut syndrome (which leads to food allergies when partially digested food particles are released into the bloodstream, are recognized as antigens foreign to the body, and elicit an antibody response against those food particles that becomes heightened every time that same food is eaten and released into the bloodstream partially digested again). Crohn's disease and colitis are also caused by auto-antibody attack on the mucosa of the GI tract itself. If the islet (insulin producing) cells of the pancreas are attacked by auto-antibodies, you develop insulin dependent (juvenile) diabetes. If the respiratory mucosa is attacked by auto-antibodies, you develop "leaky lung" syndrome where, just as with leaky gut, antigens recognized as foreign to the body which are inhaled are able to traverse the lining of the respiratory tract, causing the creation of antibodies against those antigens (usually dust, mold, pet or pollen antigens). When these substances are inhaled again, the allergic response producing constriction of the bronchioles is called asthma. If the components of the articular surface of the joints are attacked by auto-antibodies, you develop rheumatoid (or juvenile) arthritis. If the skin is attacked, you develop "leaky skin" syndrome, where contact antigens which could not otherwise traverse the skin are allowed in, leading to skin allergies to contact antigens. Additionally, depending on which level of the skin is attacked by auto-antibodies, (i.e., the epidermis or dermis), you develop eczema, psoriasis or scleroderma. If the kidney tissue is attacked by auto-antibodies, you develop one of the many types of nephritis, depending on which component of renal tissue is attacked (for example, with glomerulonephritis, the basement membrane of the glomerular apparatus within the kidney (which filters blood to form urine) is attacked by auto-antibodies, thus allowing protein to escape from the serum into the urine). If you develop auto-antibodies against thyroid gland tissue, you develop Grave's disease. If you develop auto-antibodies against the tissue of the thymus gland (which is crucial in T cell production and function), you develop myasthenia gravis. If you develop auto-antibodies against the very DNA in the nucleus of all cells, you develop systemic Lupus (thus, the potential autoimmune potential of DNA vaccines being developed now is self evident; worse yet, DNA components from these vaccines can be incorporated into your DNA, leading to actual genetic changes which could cause extinction of all (vaccinated) life on the Earth). And on, and on, and on.
The brain and spinal cord can also be attacked with auto-antibodies (which this author refers to as vaccine induced encephalitis), leading to a variety of neurological diseases. The most severe of these, leading to death, are sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and most cases of "shaken baby syndrome". If components of the myelin sheath (the insulating covering of nerve fibers which allows proper nerve conduction) or the actual neurofilaments themselves are attacked by auto-antibodies, the resultant condition is determined solely by the location of the damage done. Such neurological conditions include but are not limited to minimal brain dysfunction, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, mental retardation, criminal behavior, the spectrum of pervasive developmental disorders (including autism), multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Lou Gehrig's disease, Guillen Barre,, seizure disorders, etc., etc. etc. (Please note that other toxins are also sometimes involved, such as: aspartame, Lymes and mercury in cases of MS; aspartame in seizures; or pesticides in cases of Parkinson's). Thus, when detoxing to reverse these diseases, these other substances must also be detoxed to obtain a full recovery. However, the corruption of the immune system caused by the injection of vaccines is a key component in these disease states leading to immune malfunction, and is the reason why an autistic child may also have leaky gut or eczema, etc. Note that myelin production, for the most part, does not begin until after birth. Most myelin is apparently laid down by age 5 years and usually completed by age 10 years, judging by the level of success at various ages in reversing autistic and other neurological VIDS symptoms that this author has observed in hundreds of children by detoxing the viruses with homeopathic nosodes, and repairing the immune corruption by simultaneous administration of bovine colostrum (i.e., after 10 years of age, the ability to stop and repair auto-antibody induced damage in the myelin sheath and neurofilaments themselves is dramatically decreased).
Thus, the hyperactivity of the humoral arm of the immune system in autoimmune
disease is caused by adjuvants added just for that purpose. However, the
autoimmunity itself (i.e., antibody against self) has several mechanisms,
including the following:
1. The antigens present in the culture media itself cannot be completely
filtered and separated from the organisms cultured thereon. Thus, any antibodies
formed against antigens from the culture cells themselves (for example
myelin basic protein from chick embryos or the 13 vaccines which now contain
aborted fetal cells) can cross-react to form an autoimmune reaction against
the myelin basic protein in your myelin sheath, etc.
2. Molecular mimicry is due to similarity of proteins contained in
organisms and mammals. (For example, the measles virus is made up of proteins
similar to myelin basic protein; thus, antibodies formed against the measles
virus antigens subsequently also cause an auto-antibody attack against
myelin basic protein in the myelin sheath due to cross reactivity of these
antibodies).
3. intentional inclusion of antigens in vaccines to cause formation
of antibodies that attack specific hormones or races (for example, experiments
done on women of childbearing age in the Philippines and probably other
locations where HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin, the hormone produced
when women first become pregnant) placed into vaccines given these women
resulted in antibodies against the HCG hormone, and subsequent spontaneous
abortion thus occurred when the women became pregnant. It is also this
author's hypothesis that the epidemic of vitiligo in people of color (hypo
pigmentation of skin caused by auto-antibody attack on melanocytes (melanin
producing cells) in skin) is also occurring due to intentional inclusion
of melanin in vaccines given to people of color.
In addition to the above phenomena which lead to simultaneous depression of cellular immune function and hyperactivity of humoral immune function, vaccines also contain other toxic substances which can cause serious side effects themselves. The following ingredients are actually listed on the CDC website with this introductory statement: "Many things in today's world, including food and medicines, have chemicals added to them to prevent the growth of germs and reduce spoilage." Translation: you,re already toxic, so what's the big deal with adding more poison? This author's answer to that question is that any immunotoxin can end up being the "straw that breaks the immune system's back" in that individual, leading to dis-ease. This is where genetics is key; i.e., not that what disease you develop is actually caused by some "gene" in most cases; but rather that your genes determine the strength of your immune system (i.e., how many assaults your immune system can take before it reaches critical mass, and you develop a dis-ease).
Some additional ingredients in vaccines (as listed by the CDC on their website) include antibiotics, aluminum gels, formaldehyde, monosodium glutamate (MSG), egg protein, and sulfites. Thus, we have antibiotics (which you could be allergic to); aluminum (highly involved in causing Alzheimer's disease); formaldehyde (a toxic carcinogenic substance used to pickle dead people); MSG ( a potent excitotoxin which, like aspartame, can cause seizures, brain tumors, etc.); egg protein (to which you could have a life threatening anaphylactic reaction); and sulfites (another toxin which we are advised not to consume much of orally, but in vaccines, it is injected directly into the blood stream). Is this not a veritable witch's brew of chemicals, organisms, and animal or human (aborted fetus) body parts? Note in this list that they do not mention the ethyl-mercury containing preservative thimerosol, which has been the only dangerous substance in vaccines to receive mainstream media attention (albeit most of that being disinformation) after the explosion in the rate of occurrence of autism in the last generation became self-evident proof that vaccines are the causative factor. For, although the scientists working for the medical mafia continue to use statistics to twist and spin their data to make us beLIEve that vaccines are not the cause, too many thousands of parents have watched their children enter the downward spiral into autism after their children received the vaccine which was the straw that broke the back of their child's immune system. No matter what the "white coats" tell these parents; they know the truth!
Mercury (also in dental amalgam fillings) is a highly toxic heavy metal, has been documented to cause cancer, and can be absorbed through the digestive track, skin, and respiratory track. Mercury is 1,000 times more toxic than lead, and is second only to uranium as the most toxic metal. If children receive all recommended vaccines, they will receive 2,370 times the "allowable safe limit" for mercury in the first two years of life (as if there is such a thing as a "safe" amount of a toxic poison). Yet, even after Congressional hearings instigated by Congressman Dan Burton (whose own grandchild became autistic after receiving vaccines) resulted in the FDA requesting (not ordering) vaccine manufacturers to remove this toxic heavy metal from their products, mercury is still present in many vaccines.
Although the symptoms of mercury poisoning are identical to the symptoms of autism, it should be noted that most children who descend into the hellish state known as autism do so after the MMR vaccine. The MMR vaccine is one of the few vaccines that do not contain mercury. Thus, it is self-evident that the removal of mercury will not make vaccines "safe". (This is why the mercury is the only thing being addressed at all; because when the people reading this paper realize that the very mechanism by which vaccines corrupt the immune system means that NO vaccine is safe and effective; there will be an evolution of consciousness where the structure of lies telling us vaccines are safe and effective disintegrates.) In the autistic community, this will lead to an exodus from the multiple autism groups saying it is all about the mercury or worse yet, that autism genes are "inherited", to the only group which has their focus on the actual problem. This group is named TAAP (the Autism Autoimmunity Project at www.taap.info/), and is led by April Oakes. In this author's opinion, it will be TAAP in alliance with the vaccine damaged soldiers and vets of the American Gulf War Veterans Association at www.agwva.org led by Peter Kawaja which, working together, will stop this holocaust on humanity called VIDS. The good news is that these VIDS can be reversed using natural remedies contained in the Hippocrates Protocol (www.drcarley.com). This "surgical strike" detoxification approach which has the potential to reverse ALL of the aforementioned conditions under the VIDS umbrella as long as detoxification is started early enough (before age 10 for neurological VIDS) will be the one truth put on top of the mountain of lies (that vaccines are safe and effective) that will cause the entire mountain of vaccine lies to crumble. Combined with a massive outpouring of public support to these two organizations, the root of the tree of vaccine evil will be exposed. Thus, the holocaust on humanity (where instead of people being put in concentration camps, the concentration camps are being put into the people) will finally be put to an end.
Unfortunately, we can no longer pretend that this epidemic of VIDS is merely a "mistake" made by good intentioned, albeit misguided mad scientists. Because it's even worse than the above, folkswe are talking TREASON and CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, PETS, and even PLANTS, (which are also being genetically modified to create vaccines). The evidence for this is as follows:
As concern for population growth started to grow and the final plans
to bring in the New World Order were put in place, this lie called vaccines
was transformed into pure evil, as it was realized that such delivery systems
could be used to intentionally cause disease, which is now being done under
the US Code, Title 50, Chapter 32, § 1520 and 1524. You can read it
for yourself at your local library, or go to
http://www.drcarley.com/Title%2050%20US%20Code.htm.
This law has been in place since the 1960's, and it was last modified in April of 2000. The only stipulation made for experimentation on human subjects is that local civilian officials be notified 30 days before the experiment is started. Section 1524 adds that the Secretary of Defense may enter into agreements with the Secretary of Health and Human Services to provide support for vaccination programs through use of excess peacetime biological weapons (i.e., weapons of mass destruction). In April 2000, § 1520 (a) was passed to put alleged restrictions on the use of human subjects for testing of chemical or biological agents after a caller on C Span mentioned this law in 1999, which revealed this treasonous law to a huge audience of listeners (including this author, who has been including it in lectures and written materials since that call came into "Washington Journal"). However, the exceptions written to Title 50, chapter 32 under § 1520 subsection (b) in the 2000 law passed by our aiders and abettors of treason in Congress not only loophole back in a test carried out for "any peaceful purpose that is related to a medical, therapeutic, pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial, or research activity"; but add that such biological and chemical warfare agents can now be also used for any law enforcement purpose, including "any purpose related to riot control" (just in case those C Span listeners should actually get off the couch at the horror of what the traitors in Washington, D.C. are doing to God's people). Subsection (c) of this law now mandates that "informed consent" be required. In reality, not a single vaccine has ever been tested for its long term side effects (including carcinogenic potential). Additionally, the intentional introduction of stealth viruses, (including man-made viruses that cause cancer, mycoplasma and the HIV virus), antigens which target certain races, (and surely a microchip in the future) into vaccines makes it self evident that informed consent is impossible, as it would initiate impeachment proceedings and war crimes trials against every "public servant" involved in perpetrating these crimes against the American people, in violation of the Nuremberg Code (which was written after the end of WW II to prevent the barbaric experiments that occurred in the Nazi concentration camps) .
What most people don't know is that the top level mad scientists from Nazi Germany were actually brought to the United States through "Operation Paperclip", and have been continuing their work to this day in places like Brookhaven labs, Cold Spring Harbor and Plum Island in this author's backyard on Long Island. (To see the document proving that American scientists created the HIV virus, this author refers you to p. 442 of Death in the Air by Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz, where you can read the 1969 document in which the U.S. military/CIA and Rockefeller directed National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council (NAS-NRC) announced that a research program to explore the feasibility of "creating a new infective microorganismwhich would be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease" could be completed at a total cost of $10 million.) Yes, this is what your tax dollars are going towards, folks. But hang on to your hat, because it only gets worse.
The most heinous, bone chilling and evil piece of this puzzle has been revealed to the world by an American hero named Peter Kawaja, who worked in the late 1980's as a security and counter terrorism expert for the United States government (a service for which he has been rewarded with the murder of his wife, torching of his home, issuance of a war crimes subpoena to (they thought) confiscate all his evidence, illegal IRS liens on all subsequent income, and multiple attempts on his own life, all funded by YOUR tax dollars). Please go to www.agwva.org/mission.htm and read some of the 34 counts that Mr. Kawaja brought against the domestic traitors to America (in both their individual and governmental capacities) in a federal lawsuit in which the perpetrators, again, used your tax dollars to hire themselves attorneys from the Department of "Justice" whose defense of their war criminal clients was that they are "immune, under color of law". (You can listen to Mr. Kawaja on one of his multiple internet radio shows, including "What's Ailing America?" which he co-hosts with this author at www.highway2health.net every Wednesday at 10 PM, EST.
Dr. James R. Shannon, former director of the National Institute of Health reported in December, 2003 that "the only safe vaccine is one that is never used". However, the reverberating truth, "the shot heard round the world" which will lead to the evolution of consciousness necessary to stop the holocaust against humanity known as vaccinations, will be that not only are vaccinations not safe or effective, but that they are actually weapons of mass destruction being perpetrated upon humanity in the name of health, for the purpose of genocide and to bring in the New World Order. Part 2 of the genocidal plan could drop anytime with activation of the Model State Health Emergency Powers Act whenever the next fabricated terrorist attack using biological agents occurs. Worse yet, the Congressional traitors in Washington posing as public "servants" are doing all they can to pass "Codex" legislation which will make the natural remedies and supplements used in the Hippocrates Protocol developed by this author to reverse all dis-eases only available by prescription. So, you didn't hear about that on your local news station either? Please go to the site of another American hero, John Hamill of the International Alliance for Health Freedom (who reversed his schizophrenia symptoms with these natural supplements and has dedicated his life to stop Codex from passing) at www.iahf.com .
Wake up, America-it's getting very late.it is time for the mountain
of lies to crumble. Please spread the world to everyone you know we can
make it happen. The time to stop chopping at branches and get to the root
of this evil is now.

[Does this sound reasonable? Even though nothing was found, they destroyed private property. Remember, the luggage had already been in flight twice. -- Tribble]
Get "snippy" with an airlines' ticket agent and you may never see your luggage again.
That's the experience of Dr. Esha Khoshnu, a New Jersey psychiatrist traveling to San Diego to attend a conference.
While changing planes in Phoenix, Khoshnu got testy at a Mesa Airlines ticket counter, reports KGTV news, saying, "If I had a bomb, you wouldn't find it."
The Transportation Security Administration described Khoshnu as acting "mouthy and snippy," according to KGTV.
The bomb comment touched off a security scare and FBI officials were dispatched to question Khoshnu, who was subsequently detained long enough to miss her flight.
Her suitcase, however, got past security and was loaded onto the America West jet.
When Mesa Airlines Flight 6264 landed at Lindbergh Field in San Diego the pilot was instructed to taxi to a remote area of the airport where some 35 passengers were taken off the plane and escorted onto two buses, reports City News Service.
"When we landed and quickly did a U-turn on the runway, I was like, 'They never do that.' Then, all the cars started coming and it was obvious that it was for our plane. That was the scary part," one passenger told KGTV.
City News Service reports members of the San Diego Fire Department's bomb squad searched the plane but found no explosives. Next, they removed Khoshnu's suitcase and inspected it in an open area on the grounds of the airport.
Although they found nothing suspicious, authorities blew up the bag with an explosive charge and then doused it with water.
Khoshnu was eventually released and allowed to board a later flight
to San Diego. KGTV reports the Assistant U.S. Attorney in Phoenix decided
her actions did not merit charges.

[I almost did not read this, hence I almost reprint it here. It is good in its truth's, then it gets better. -- Tribble]
Dear Ma and Pa,
I am well. Hope you are. Tell Brother Walt and Brother Elmer the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before all of the places are filled.
I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m. but I am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt and Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot, and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing.
Men got to shave but it is not so bad, there's warm water. Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc. but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie and other regular food, but tell Walt and Elmer you can always sit by the two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you til noon when you get fed again. It's no wonder these city boys can't walk much.
We go on "route marches", which the platoon sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it's not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys get sore feet and we all ride back in trucks.
The country is nice but awful flat The sergeant is like a school teacher. He nags a lot. The Captain is like the school board. Majors and colonels just ride around and frown. They don't bother you none. This next will kill Walt and Elmer with laughing. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk head and don't move, and it ain't shooting at you like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie ther all comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.
Then we have what they call hand-to-hand combat training. You get to wrestle with them city boys. I have to be real careful though, they break real easy. It ain't like fighting with that ole bull at home. I'm about the best they got in this except for that Tug Jordan from over in Silver Lake. I only beat him once. He joined up the same time as me, but I'm only 5'6" and 130 pounds and he's 6'8" and near 300 pounds dry.
Be sure to tell Walt and Elmer to hurry and join before other fellers get onto this setup and come stampeding in.
Your loving daughter,
Gail

This guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a real dark night in the middle of a thunder storm. Time passed slowly and no cars went by. It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in front of his face.Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly approaching and appearing ghostlike in the rain. It slowly crept toward him and stopped.
Wanting a ride real bad the guy jumped in the car and closed the door, only then did he realized that there was nobody behind the wheel. The car slowly started moving and the guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve, still too scared to jump out, he started to pray and begging for his life; he was surethe ghost car would go off the road and in the marsh and he would surely drown, when just before the curve, a hand appeared thru the driver's window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.
Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally the guy, scared to near death, had all he could take and jumped out of the car and ran to town. Wet and in shock,he went into a bar and voice quavering, ordered two shots of whiskey, then told everybody about his supernatural experience.
A silence enveloped and everybody got goose bumps when they realized
the guy was telling the truth and not just some drunk. About half an hour
later two guys walked into the bar and one says to the other:
"Look Bubba, ders dat idiot that rode in our car when we was pushin it
in the rain."

For the first time, vote-rigging may become a serious issue at a general election - perhaps in just three months' time. With several cases of alleged vote-rigging and fraud already under investigation - in Reading, Birmingham, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire - the Electoral Commission is pressing guidelines on detecting voting fraud on senior police and election officers.
Meanwhile, the government remains keen on electronic voting and is aiming at "an e-enabled election some time after 2006". Will this raise turnout or simply increase the risk of fraud? Several pilots have been held. In 2003, six local authorities electronically counted ballot papers where votes had also been cast electronically. Surprisingly, there has been no manual checking of the e-counting results.
However, a full-blown test run of e-voting has been carried out elsewhere, with very instructive results. It shows that e-voting is neither secure nor tamper-proof, and allegations are surfacing that it may have affected the result. This dry run was the recent US presidential election.
Electronic voting machines made by the Diebold company use the Gems (Global Election Management Systems) software, which was used to count over a third of the votes in three-quarters of the states in the election. It was also used in electronic touch-screen machines predominantly employed in electoral battleground states like Florida.
E-voting machine companies refuse to open up their software for public viewing. The certification of their machines is also kept secret. Computer investigators claim that the machines are extremely insecure and vulnerable to hacking via the internet, particularly via remote modems.
Beverley Harris and Andy Stephenson, US computer experts who researched this question in their recent book, Black Box Voting, have shown that electronic control from remote modems is invisible to the election supervisor, and party observers cannot see the intrusion. It leaves no record, even in the audit log, if an illicit "back-door" is used to get into the program.
The central tabulator audit log is a security requirement mandated by the US Federal Elections Commission, which is intended to detect vote-tampering. Diebold says that altering its audit log is impossible. But the firm's internal memos, which have been made public, show that it has known the audit log could be corrupted and changed since 2001.
According to Harris, a manipulation technique she found in Diebold's AccuVote central vote tabulator is able to read totals from an untraceable bogus vote set within its software. "By entering a two-digit code in a hidden location, a second set of votes is created; and this set of votes can be changed in a matter of seconds, so that it no longer matches the correct votes," she has said. And she has demonstrated this live on television. Her conclusion is: "You can easily edit the election."
In November 2003, in a governorship election in Alabama, 6,300 votes changed overnight - which gave victory to the Republican candidate. In Texas that same month, three Republican candidates won, each with exactly 18,181 votes. In King County, Washington, in a September 2004 primary, it was discovered that three hours were missing from the audit log. Modem "trouble slips" were acquired that revealed King County's modem access number - which would have allowed anyone surreptitiously to take control of the county's central server (vote tabulator) on election night from an isolated location. In all such cases, there is a lack of any paper trail to conduct a recount if demanded.
Stephenson also discovered that Jeffrey Dean, the senior programmer of the Diebold Gems central tabulator system counting a third of the votes in the Bush-Kerry election in 37 states, has a police record. He pleaded guilty to 23 counts of embezzlement involving sophisticated manipulation of computer accounting records.
Diebold's CEO, Walden O'Dell, raised more than $100,000 for George Bush's election last November. It is also widely reported that he helped raise $600,000 for Bush-Cheney 2004 last June. Soon after that, he sent a letter to Ohio Republicans repeating his pledge to "help Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president". Altogether, Diebold has given over £1m to the Republicans.
We must be extremely cautious of the surge towards electronic voting. Before importing US voting systems into Britain, any software secrets in the machine technology must be made transparent. Software must be properly certified, and there must be paper trails. If these conditions cannot be met, electronic voting should not be introduced. There are better ways of increasing turnout than simply changing the voting technology.
